Today’s episode we welcome Nick Bonino, a 15 year NHL veteran and a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Nick was a key member of the Penguin’s famous “HBK line” along with Carl Hagelin and Phil Kessel. After being drafted in the 6th round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks, Bonino was a key member of Boston University NCAA National Champion team in 2009. Before playing a game for San Jose, he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks where he started his 15 NHL career in 2010. In June of 2025, Nick retired as an active player to join the Pittsburgh penguins coaching staff with head coach, Dan Muse, who had coached Bonino while he played with the New York Rangers in the 2023-24 season. A centre, Leblanc played minor hockey in the Montreal region before he moved to the United States in 2008, playing one season with the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and becoming Rookie of the Year. Eligible for the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected 18th overall by the Montreal Canadiens. He then enrolled at Harvard University and spent one season with the Crimson, being named Ivy League Rookie of the Year, before he signed a contract with the Canadiens in 2010. Later that year Leblanc joined the Montreal Juniors, who had earlier acquired his Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) playing rights.Leblanc spent three seasons in the Canadiens organization, mainly playing for their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate but appearing in only 50 National Hockey League (NHL) games over two seasons, before being traded in 2014 to the Anaheim Ducks, who kept him in the AHL. In 2015, Leblanc moved to Europe, joining HC Slovan Bratislava of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), though he played only seven games for them before being released. Bradley Brown is a Canadian former professional National Hockey League (NHL) player who TR knows from his Montreal Days Brown played junior hockey with the North Bay Centennials and Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He was drafted in the first round, 18th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. A defensive defenseman, Brown made his NHL debut the following year in the 1996–97 season with the Montreal Canadiens on November 1, 1996, against the Boston Bruins. The London Knights and the Kitchener Rangers have completed a major trade. The Knights have sent captain Sam O'Reilly and defenceman Jared Woolley to Kitchener in exchange for defenceman Jacob Xu (Zoo), forward Kane Barch and 11 draft picks. Xu is 17 years old and is eligible for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. Barch is the son of former Knight and current Niagara IceDogs head coach Krys Barch.
