A faculty support and development podcast designed around the needs of a diverse, urban, midwestern community college: We promote educational technology in the development of an active/ participatory learning curriculum.
Dr. Rob Flaherty gives us the low-down on the Master teacher retreat coming up the first weekend in April 2009. Approximately 3 1/2 minutes long.
My last 8 min. "session" - and again it's different. Audience participation brought focus more to the philosophy of Web 2.0, and a great idea is shared from a Professional developer, Dr. Page Wolf, on Recognizing Faculty. Again, see the blog at http://kckccfacultysupport.blogspot.com/2008/11/web-20-controlling-message.html
My 2nd 8 min. "session" - and despite the same goal and content, it's different. The audience started with a question and new themes within the topic got attention such as: ESL/ international students, the Gutenberg project, wikis and free short story audio available on the web. Again, see the blog at http://kckccfacultysupport.blogspot.com/2008/11/web-20-controlling-message.html
Greg presented a GIFT (great ideas for teaching/training) session on Web 2.0 Applications at an international conference. The unique format of the sessions(multiple condensed 8 minute presentations repeated for changing audiences) offers an idea for teaching in itself, and posting the "same" content multiple times allows us to critique his presentation and see how it evolved. See blog post for further details at http://kckccfacultysupport.blogspot.com/2008/11/web-20-controlling-message.html .
