‘Meet & Right’ is a podcast that dives into liturgical worship and how communion really begins after church. The pinnacle of my union with Christ is at the table of the Lord, but living this out and applying the power of the resurrected Lord to my life is how I grow as His child.

"For we do not receive these things as though they were ordinary food and drink. Just as Jesus Christ our Savior was made flesh through the word of God and took on flesh and blood for our salvation, so too (we have been taught) through the word of prayer that comes from him the food over which the thanksgiving has been spoken becomes the flesh and blood of the incarnate Jesus, in order to nourish and transform our flesh and blood. For, in the memoirs which the apostles composed and which we call Gospels, they have told us that they were commissioned thus: Jesus took bread and gave thanks", -St. Justin the Martyr (67 AD)Make sure to check us out on Facebook & TwitterSign up for monthly email updates HERE

"If you cannot go without eating all day because of an ailment of the body, beloved one, no logical man will be able to criticize you for that. Besides, we have a Lord who is meek and loving and who does not ask for anything beyond our power. Because he neither requires the abstinence from foods, neither that the fast take place for the simple sake of fasting, neither is its aim that we remain with empty stomachs, But that we fast to offer our entire selves to the dedication of spiritual things, having distanced ourselves from secular things." Saint John Chrysostom, On Fasting.Make sure to check us out on Facebook & TwitterSign up for monthly email updates HERE
Orthodox worship is not a mere remembrance of an event, or a resemblance for that matter, but rather a participation in the same events of Christ's salvation on our behalf. We use the word symbol quite frequently, however, the context/meaning of this word today is different from its' original purpose.“The history of religions shows us that the more ancient, the deeper, the more ‘organic' a symbol, the less it will be composed of such ‘illustrative' qualities. This is because the purpose and function of the symbol is not to illustrate (this would presume the absence of what is illustrated) but rather to manifest and to communicate what is manifested. We might say that the symbol does not so much ‘resemble' the reality that it symbolizes as it participates in it, and therefore it is capable of communicating it in reality.”From The Eucharist – Fr.
