Crown Ignorant Kings — Reclaiming Truth, Authority, and the KingdomWhat if ignorance isn't an insult—but a wake-up call?In this unapologetically bold podcast, we challenge the misunderstood meaning of “ignorance” and uncover how misinformation, withheld truth, and spiritual misdirection have robbed humanity of its divine inheritance. Here, truth isn't just facts—it's original, eternal knowledge that transcends the senses. We delve into the profound message that every human being was created as a king, not by gender, but by divine authority. Through powerful revelations, we explore why God came in human form: to restore what was lost, to reconnect us to the Kingdom, and to reclaim the crowns forfeited through disobedience. This isn't your typical Gospel conversation. We go beyond “What Would Jesus Do” and ask the real question: What Did Jesus Say? Because the true Good News isn't just about the cross—it's about the crown beyond it. Join us as we confront spiritual misconceptions, awaken dormant authority, and do the work to Crown Ignorant Kings—one truth at a time. Now, Let's Adjust Our Crowns!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/crowning-ignorant-kings--2714790/support.Crowning Ignorant Kings: The Online Kingdom AcademyFollow this FREE plan to gather the resources that you need to learn more about experiencing the Kingdom of God on earth.Crowning Ignorant Kings: BLOGCrowning Ignorant Kings: The Kingdom AcademyCrowning Ignorant Kings: Online Community

Meditations on the Mysteries of the Rosary The Sorrowful Mysteries Where Wisdom Dwells: Suffering, Redemption, and the Sorrowful Mysteries This conference explores the deep meaning of the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary, . . . . . . emphasizing that the heart of these mysteries is The Cross of Christ, the fullest revelation of God's unconditional, unmerited love for humanity. The conference explains that while the Rosary traditionally seemed to bypass the public ministry of Jesus, the early Church understood His ministry as presupposed in the proclamation of His passion, death, and resurrection . . . the core of apostolic preaching. The Cross of Christ The conference highlights that the cross exposes both the radical depth of human sin (understood as love rejected) and the redemptive power of suffering when united with Christ. Drawing on St. Louis de Montfort and Scripture, the conference shows that suffering without Christ is destructive, but suffering with Christ becomes a path to holiness, hope, and resurrection. Each of the five Sorrowful Mysteries is then examined: 1. Agony in the Garden: Jesus' anguish reveals the weight of His mission and perfect obedience. The disciples' betrayal and abandonment invite us to stay spiritually awake, embrace suffering with Christ, and cultivate contrition. 2. Scourging at the Pillar: This mystery summarizes the rejection of Jesus—by His people, His closest followers, the crowds, and His executioners—mirroring humanity's own tendency to refuse God's love. 3. Crowning with Thorns: The mock coronation exposes our inclination to choose worldly “kings” over Christ. Mary's presence urges repentance and conversion. 4. Carrying of the Cross: Our attitude toward our personal crosses reveals our discipleship. With Christ, the cross becomes a treasure, a sign of victory, and our lifelong standard. 5. Crucifixion: At the foot of the cross, Mary stands united with Jesus, witnessing the reversal of the Fall . . . where Adam grasped the fruit of a tree, Christ now gives Himself as the true fruit that brings life. The conference concludes by reaffirming that the Sorrowful Mysteries draw us into the heart of God's love and the mystery of redemption accomplished through the cross. Living Water Worship Centre

Theme: Judgment, Obedience, and the Centrality of God Pastor Matthew's study covered Zechariah chapters 6–7, drawing parallels between Zechariah's visions, the rebuilding of Jerusalem, and God's eternal plan through Christ. The lesson highlighted how obedience, humility, and keeping God at the center are essential for both spiritual and national restoration. Context and Background Zechariah ministered during the time when Israelites were returning from Babylonian exile to rebuild the temple and the walls of Jerusalem. Nehemiah oversaw the wall; Zechariah encouraged the people spiritually. The prophet's visions often had dual meaning—addressing the present rebuilding work while also pointing forward to the coming Messiah and end-time judgment. Vision of the Four Chariots — Zechariah 6:1-8 Zechariah saw four chariots coming from between two mountains of bronze, symbolizing God's judgment. The red, black, white, and dappled horses represent divine forces sent throughout the earth—similar to the four horsemen in Revelation 6. Pastor Matthew explained the parallels: Red horse – war and conflict Black horse – famine and economic imbalance White horse – deception (often representing the Antichrist's early false peace) Pale horse – death and destruction The vision shows that God rules over all nations, directing both natural and spiritual forces to fulfill His plans. Application: Every believer will face judgment—not for salvation, which is secured in Christ—but for stewardship and obedience. “Think of judgment not as punishment,” Pastor said, “but as whether we've disappointed the One who's given us everything.” Spiritual Reality: The Host of Heaven Zechariah's vision reveals an unseen world—“the spirits of heaven”—at work on God's behalf. Pastor connected this to Jacob's vision at Mahanaim (“two hosts”) and Jesus' words about angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man. Believers are surrounded by heavenly hosts and benefit from their ministry, but only “in Christ”—our access point between heaven and earth. The Crowning of Joshua the High Priest — Zechariah 6:9-15 God commands the making of an elaborate crown to be set on Joshua the high priest, symbolizing restoration. Joshua foreshadows Christ, the true High Priest, called “the Branch”, who will build the spiritual temple of the Lord and reign as both King and Priest. Pastor explained that this prefigures Jesus as the eternal priest “after the order of Melchizedek,” whose covenant was established before the foundation of the world. Core truth: “As long as God stays at the center, everything else—children, crops, work—will be blessed. But when people place themselves in the center, things fall apart.” Obedience as the Condition for Blessing Zechariah 6:15 ends with a key phrase: “This shall come to pass if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.” Pastor emphasized that: God's promises are certain, but our participation in them depends on obedience. Failure doesn't cancel grace—repentance restores relationship. David was contrasted with Saul: both sinned, but David repented, while Saul disregarded God's word and lost his kingdom. Willful disobedience—knowing God's command and ignoring it—invites discipline and loss. Practical Lessons — Zechariah 7 By Chapter 7, the teaching turned practical: People asked if they should continue fasting as before. God responded: “Did you fast for Me—or for yourselves?” Their rituals had become hollow habits. God desires obedience and sincerity over religious performance. Pastor quoted Samuel's reminder: “To obey is better than sacrifice.” The Heart of True Religion Zechariah 7:9–10 commands: “Execute true justice, show mercy and compassion, do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor, and let none of you plan evil against his brother.” Pastor expanded: When in doubt—have mercy, because “you're going to need it too.” God's longsuffering exceeds anything we could show others. Examples included the conversion of an abortion doctor and Joyce Meyer forgiving and caring for her abusive father—proof of the gospel's transforming power. True love does not ignore truth: “You don't have to compromise truth to love people; real love tells the truth.” The Danger of Refusal Israel's ancestors “stopped their ears” and “made their hearts like flint”, rejecting God's word. Pastor warned that when people repeatedly ignore God, He eventually allows them to experience the consequences of their choices. Cross-references included Proverbs 1:20–33 and 2 Thessalonians 2:10–12, showing how those who reject truth can fall into strong delusion. He cautioned America to heed this warning: “Our greatest danger isn't military or economic—it's turning our backs on God and Israel.” Closing Reflection God's mercy and truth work together. The goal is not religious performance but a surrendered, obedient life centered on God. The nation of Israel was restored through obedience; the same principle governs believers and nations today. Pastor closed in prayer, thanking God for His Word and declaring: “We love truth—even when it rebukes or corrects us—because the Spirit and the Word agree.” Core Takeaways Judgment is real, but so is grace. God must remain the center—life flourishes when we revolve around Him. Obedience outweighs ritual. Mercy triumphs over judgment. Truth without love is harsh; love without truth is hollow. A nation or believer that hardens its heart toward God risks losing His blessing.

Homily - Except the Lord Build the House: Christ at the Center of Marriage and Parish Life

St. Luke 5:1-11. Drawing on St. Luke's account of Christ calling His disciples to become fishers of men, this homily explores why marriages and parishes often falter when built on human strength alone. Fr. Anthony reminds us that brokenness, poor models, and cultural confusion cannot be overcome by willpower or good intentions, but only through Christ and His Church. Just as the apostles' empty nets were filled at the Lord's command, so too our families and parishes flourish when rooted in His blessing and obedience. --- Homily: Why is it so hard to build a good marriage (and parish)? Saint Luke 5:1-11; Fishers of Men So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken; and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men.” So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him (St. Luke 5:1-11). Introduction: How Christ Builds the Church This is a beautiful story from the ministry of Jesus Christ. It comes on the heels of his Baptism, his temptation by the devil in the wilderness, and the beginning of his preaching ministry in the synagogues of Galilee. In this Gospel, Christ has started building something very special; something that would never fall; something that would bring healing to broken humanity; something through which He would change the world. He began building the Church. And He did it with simple fishermen on the side of a lake. Continuation: We are Building, too We are participating in this work as well. We want to build something that will never fail; something that will bring healing to broken people; something that will transform a troubled place. We are building a parish. Today's Gospel provides a wonderful lesson for us on this very thing. In his homily on today's Gospel, St. Nikolai Velimirovich writes; “Except the Lord build the house, all who labor labor in vain.” (Psalm 126:1) If the builders build in God's name, they will build a palace, even their hands are weak and their material poor. If, though, the builders build in their own name, in opposition to God, the work of their hands will be brought down as was the Tower of Babel. There is no power that can bring God's work to ruin. Pagan palaces and cities fall into ruin, but God's huts remain standing. That which God's finger upholds stands more firmly than that which [the mythical titan] Atlas supports on his back… May the almighty Lord preserve us from the thought that we can achieve any good without His help and His blessing… May today's Gospel serve as a warning that such vain thoughts must never be formulated our souls. It speaks of how all men's efforts are in vain if God does not help them. While Christ's apostle's were fishing as men, they caught nothing; but when Christ commanded them to cast their nets once more into the sea, they caught such a great haul of fish that their nets tore. Why would anyone think they can build something worthwhile without Christ? I don't know. It is futile. We know better. But we do it all the time. Understanding the Curse of Sin: the example of marriage Let's look at the example of marriage. It can be so hard to get it right, and there are just so many ways to get it wrong. Why is it so hard? It isn't because people aren't trying. In fact, they are trying all kinds of things… but they aren't working very well. At best, some couples might end up with a marriage that lasts, but marriage was not just meant to endure. It's not supposed to be like a boxing match that makes it to the final round; with the two so tired they can hardly lift a glove and they just lean on one another gasping and looking forward to the bell (or, as is as likely to happen in marriages, the two just hang out in their separate corners doing their own thing until the final bell sounds). A good marriage does more than last, it brings joy to its members and its fruit brings happiness that endures from generation to generation. But why is this so rare? It should come as no surprise. Look how many people  come from broken families. It isn't their fault, but this really puts them behind the eight ball. They come from broken families and a broken world, so they have bad examples and have internalized all the wrong instincts. Brokenness has been imprinted in their minds and hearts; this cannot help but shape their actions, no matter how good and noble their intentions are. Even if they try to rise above and do things right, what examples are they going to follow? Television? Movies? TikTok?  Their friends? Their hearts? None of these is a reliable guide – all of them are fallen. If statistics are correct – and there is no reason to doubt them – our young men are learning more about how to relate to women from pornography than they are from anything good and real. And the expectations and self-respect of our young women are being shaped by this same blighted culture. Is there really any wonder that we are so bad at marriage? That even those young couples who try to get it right end up building a perverted parody of the kind of blessed union of flesh and spirit that we celebrate in the Mystery of Crowning? That we have far more “towers of Babel” than temples of true love? Reiterating the Problem… and the solution To repeat the Psalm; “Except the Lord build the house, all who labor labor in vain.” (126:1). We cannot overcome our own brokenness by trying harder or following the examples and guidance of people who are broken, too (St. Matthew 15:14; … if the blind lead the blind both will fall into a pit). An alcoholic cannot live a healthy life by trying harder; he has to admit his problem, heal and transform his heart and habits. And he has to let God be the foundation of this process. This is why twelve-step programs are so successful: they transform the hearts and habits of the repentant, with God as the foundation of the process. How many addicts do you know that continue ruining their lives because they think they can work everything out on their own? But alcoholics and philanderers do not just hurt themselves. We know from history and our own observations that the children of alcoholics and broken homes are cursed by both nature and nurture. Again, it isn't fair, but it is true. If we want the next generations to succeed then we have to be honest about both the cause and the cure of what ails them and us. The cause is our brokenness, and the cure is Christ Jesus. The cure is His Church. The cure is the Way of Holy Orthodoxy. All else is vanity. They are Towers of Babel. They are sand castles at a low tide. Back to Today's Gospel: becoming fishers of men The curse of sin is the very thing that Christ came to remove. To put it in very practical terms, Christ came to save your marriages, to heal your addictions, to restore your sanity, and to replace your sorrow, pain, and frustration with joy and eternal blessedness. That is to say, He came to save you from the very real, very specific, and very damning problems in your life. And not just yours, but everyone's. A world that was created good groans in agony, and our Lord loves it too much to allow that to continue. And so He became a man, He taught us, He died for us, He was resurrected and ascended into Glory, and, more to today's point, He established the Church to be the Ark of our salvation. What a beautiful image a boat is for the Church. Think about it: we are drowning in a sea of sin and trying to tread water amidst a storm of temptation. We cannot survive this on our own, and it does not help to band together – eventually, even the strongest swimmer must succumb to weakness; moreover, the weak are infamous for dragging the stronger down. It is a terrible situation to be drowning in this stormy sea. Our breaths are numbered, and we are sure to die in agony. It is only a matter of time. But into this bleak scene comes salvation: the apostles cast out their nets and pull us in to the safety of the boat. We can finally breath without struggling. It is calm in the boat. It is here that our real healing begins… then we are given our own nets.  Conclusion: we cannot catch men if we don't try; we cannot catch men if we don't learn how We are in the boat. Here at Christ the Saviour, we have the fullness of the faith (we are like a fractal of the Universal Church) so it is fair to say that we are the boat. But remember that bit earlier about how nature and nurture conspire against our marriages? You know me well enough by now to know that I wasn't just talking about marriage. Marriage is an image of the Church: the union of flesh with one another and the union of that one flesh with God (Ephesians 5:32). Why should we think that we are naturally any better at living as the Church than we are with marriage? The same forces work against us: we suffer from both nature and nurture. Just as good intentions are not enough for the children of broken homes, they are not enough for us as we try to build this parish. Without serious help, we will just end up building the equivalent of a miserable and failed marriage, another Tower of Babel, a perverse monument to our own fallenness. We cannot do it on our own.  We need help.   We need Christ. Without Him, we are like the Apostles in today's lesson before our Lord came; “toiling all night and catching nothing” (St. Luke 5:5). It had been a hard night for them and they had given up on catching anything; but then Christ came and told them to go back out, and they caught more than they could carry. So many that their boats almost broke. This parish has been through a lot.  There was a time when it was down to a handful of people.  Like Simon in today's lesson, we had good hearts and the best of intentions, but we were tired; and we had pretty much given up on catching fish. But the Lord has told us to get back out there and get it done. And so that is what we are doing.  Of course, we are smart in the ways of the world, and we are always tempted to rely on our own strength and our own hearts. But our hearts are broken and our strength will fail us. “Except the Lord build the house, all who labor labor in vain.” (126:1). But for those who put their trust in the Lord and in His way – there is no limit to the good that they can do. This is where we are. We have given our lives and the future of this parish to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Like Simon, we haven't always seen the point of what the Lord commands, but also like Simon, we follow Him. And we know the result of doing the Lord's will: the catch was so great that their nets were so full that they were all but bursting, and the ship could barely stay afloat.  Does this sound familiar?  The Lord has bless your commitment and your faith; and our growth has been so great that we wonder if our walls can hold the number of men, women, and children who have been pulled in to the safety of the Church. So great that we, like Simon calling for the second boat, are helping to plant missions and look for new properties to provide enough room. Because there is no reason to expect this growth to stop.  After all, there are a lot of people drowning in the waters around us. We cannot allow them to perish – it is God's will that all be saved. It is a tough calling. But we do not labor in vain: because we are building according to the Lord's command. We have been transformed fishers of men. To God be all glory and may He bless us as we do this work.

What does it truly mean to face life's challenges with genuine joy? Meet Orly Koenig, a remarkable 10-year-old who transforms her daily struggles with cerebral palsy into opportunities for growth, laughter, and inspiration.Born two months premature, Orly candidly shares her journey—from her diagnosis and multiple surgeries to her everyday life navigating the world sometimes on foot, sometimes by wheelchair, and often on her beloved electric scooter. With wisdom that defies her years, she reveals her secret to maintaining positivity: "Sometimes you don't feel like a normal kid because it's hard. But in life, things can be hard—you just have to keep pushing through."Orly's approach to life's obstacles isn't about ignoring difficulties but reframing them through gratitude and purpose. Perhaps most touching is how Orly's joy becomes contagious. From distributing lollipops during hospital stays to volunteering at the gift shop while still a patient herself, she consistently turns personal hardship into opportunities to brighten others' lives. Her name "Orly," meaning "my light," perfectly captures her essence as someone who illuminates every room she enters. As we approach Rosh Hashanah, Orly's story reminds us that crowning Hashem as King isn't done through fear or sadness, but through celebration and recognition of blessings. Join us for this heartwarming conversation that will leave you looking at your own challenges with fresh eyes and perhaps, like Orly, finding unexpected joy along the way..........................................................................

The Gemara (Rosh Hashanah 11a) lists several events that occurred on the date of Rosh Hashanah, the first of Tishreh. These include Sara conceiving with a child at the age of 90, after decades of infertility and desperate longing for a child. For this reason, we read on the first day of Rosh Hashanah the story of the birth of Sara's son, Yishak Abinu. The Gemara also mentions that Rosh Hashanah was the day when Yosef was released from prison in Egypt. He had been imprisoned when Potifar's wife falsely charged that he assaulted her, and Yosef spent 12 years in the dungeon, until he was brought before Pharaoh to interpret the king's mysterious dreams. This led to his being named Pharaoh's vizier. It was on Rosh Hashanah, the Gemara teaches, that Yosef was brought out of prison and taken before Pharaoh. This event is alluded to in the 81 st chapter of Tehillim, which – for good reason – is the chapter we read as the "Shir Shel Yom" (daily Psalm) on Rosh Hashanah. We find in this chapter references to both the sounding of the Shofar on Rosh Hashanah ("Tik'u Ba'hodesh Shofar" – verse 4), and Yosef's emergence as the leader of Egypt ("Edut Bi'Yehosef Samo Be'seto Al Eretz Misrayim" – verse 6) – clearly indicating that Yosef left prison on Rosh Hashanah. The Maharsha (Rav Shmuel Eidels, 1555-1631), in his commentary to Masechet Rosh Hashanah, draws a curious connection between these two events – Sara's conception, and Yosef's rise to power in Egypt. In the aforementioned chapter in Tehillim, Yosef's name appears with an extra letter Heh, such that it is written "Yehosef" instead of "Yosef." The Maharsha writes that this extra letter came from Sara, whose name ended with a Heh. Additionally, the Maharsha adds, according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the letter Heh at the end of G-d's Name (the Name of "Havaya") signifies the concept of Malchut, kingship, and it was thus added to Yosef's name when he ascended to a position of royalty in Egypt. The commentators explain further that Sara's name, as we know, was originally "Sarai," which ended with the letter Yod, and it was later changed to "Sara," which ends with Heh. The letter Yod in Gematria equals 10, and it was divided into two Hehs, as the letter Heh in Gematria equals 5. One was given to Sara, and the other was given to Yosef. The question then becomes, why did specifically these two figures receive the letter Heh? What is their particular connection to this letter, which expresses the theme of Malchut? The answer lies in the fact that both Sara and Yosef faced numerous hardships over the course of many years, and nevertheless maintained pristine faith in Hashem. Sara was childless for many years, was twice abducted by ruthless kings, and wandered from place to place for much of her life. Yosef was cruelly banished from his home, brought as a slave to Egypt, where he was tempted by his master's wife – and when he refused, she had him imprisoned. As mentioned, he remained in prison for 12 years. Neither Sara nor Yosef ever questioned or challenged G-d's judgment. They fully and wholeheartedly accepted His rule over the world without complaint. And this is the greatest expression of Malchut – unconditional and unreserved submission to, and acceptance of, Hashem's will as the ultimate good. This is why Sara and Yosef are associated with the letter Heh – which signifies Hashem's kingship – and why they are associated with Rosh Hashanah, the day we celebrate Hashem's kingship. This teaches us a crucial lesson about how we must approach Rosh Hashanah. Many people approach this day focused solely on what went wrong during the previous year, and on their hopes and aspirations for the coming year, everything they want to be better during the new year. But they forget about all that went right during the past year, all the wonderful blessings that Hashem had granted them. The Tiferet Shlomo (Rav Shlomo of Radomsk, Poland, 1801-1866) taught that if we want our prayers to be answered, we must first thank Hashem for all the good in our lives before proceeding to ask for what we want. We cannot enter Rosh Hashanah ungratefully, complaining about all that is wrong with our lives, without first acknowledging, appreciating and being thankful for all that is currently right with our lives. After all, Rosh Hashanah is the day when Hashem is crowned anew as king over the universe, an event to which only "VIP members" are invited – and we, Am Yisrael, are the "VIP members." Imagine someone receiving an invitation to attend the Presidential inauguration, and he shows up with a frown, angry and agitated. When he gets a turn to greet the President, he doesn't smile, because he's so upset about whatever it is that's bothering him. He would likely be thrown out of the party, and he certainly would not be invited the next time around... On Rosh Hashanah, we are the special guests at Hashem's "inauguration." And thus Ezra Ha'sofer told the people on Rosh Hashanah, "Hedvat Hashem Hi Ma'uzchem" – that their source of strength and success was their joy and festivity on this day (Nehemia 8:10). We must show up on Rosh Hashanah smiling, celebrating Hashem's kingship, grateful for all He had done for us. Each and every year throughout her years of infertility, Sara joyously celebrated Hashem's kingship on Rosh Hashanah – just as Yosef did each and every year he spent in the dungeon. Of course, they also prayed for what they needed – but not before they felt genuine gratitude for all that they had. Let us enter Rosh Hashanah not only with a "laundry list" of everything we want Hashem to give us, but also with sincere gratitude for all that He has already given us, and we will then be worthy of His continued grace, kindness and blessing, Amen.
