Reach out to Cody and Buhler to tell them what's up!New/old UCF head coach Scott Frost made sure to take no blame and put it all on Nebraska for failing miserably at his alma mater, so John Buhler and Cody Williams had to rake him over the coals. We then look at longtime Oklahoma AD Joe Castiglione is stepping down, which raises some uncertainty for Brent Venables and the Sooners. We then look at South Carolina, Florida, Illinois and more potential first-time College Football Playoff teams, as well as assessing the job security of every SEC head coach. We finish with a deep look at Colorado and LSU's seasons and whether they'll hit over or under their win total, all before finishing by comparing No Doubt songs to CFB personalities.
Carrie writes “It's taken me almost 3 years to write this email. I've tried a few times over the years but convinced myself that you probably won't contact me so I just deleted the other emails. But I have an encounter that happened to me when I was 20 and the details of what I seen will stick with me for the rest of my life! Long story (extremely short:) Me and my x boyfriend was at the boat ramp on Quintette River in Escambia Florida at dusk. The sun was still up enough we could see good but it was starting to set. This was around the beginning of summer as I remember sitting at the ramp on shorts. We was killing time until we went back to his house. We was there an hour maybe a little more before we heard a HUGE splash from across the river, which is a decent size river. Before the splash, there was dead silence.. Across from the ramp it's nothing but woods and forest for miles. I thought a bear or alligator jumped into the river and was swimming to us so we ran to my truck that was parked at the edge of the ramp. I turned on my headlights so we could see clearly and the creature was already halfway across the river! It was RUNNING NOT SWIMMING with it's hands over it's head almost like an over hand swimming motion but he never went deeper than his chest. The way he was able to cross a river that deep and swift as fast as he did was mind-blowing and I almost couldn't comprehend it at the time. I was frozen in fear when it got to the end of the ramp, I expected it to keep coming up the ramp but instead it pulled it's self up on the DOCK and it stared at us, eyes wide teeth showing. I can describe everything from every wrinkle in his face, his devilish eyes, nails, arms, chest EVERYTHING! The ramp is over 4 foot wide and his chest was as big of not a little bigger then the width of the ramp! It started climbing up the end of the ramp, after I got a good look at everything, I backed up and turned the truck around as fast as I could and got out of there. Years later there are STILL finger nail marks on that ramp where it pulled itself up! Since then I have met my current Boyfriend (he has his own encounter where he was chased by one a couple years before we met) and we love to go out riding at dusk to dawn throughout the night in the forest looking to see what we can come across. We love all animals and how beautiful the night sky is. We stay alert and because of that we have a few different times and I have a couple daytime pictures of different things that happened but none as clear as the time I was less than 15 foot from one. I have more details regarding his face, color and everything from when it came across the river at me but it would take a long time to explain in an email. I truly hope you reach out to me! I would love to tell my encounter and describe in detail every thing I seen as he stared me down in the few minutes before I could drive away. No doubt he was coming to kill us, he was very evil, his eyes dark and teeth showing!”

Two things have entertained me this week. We've had the falling out of two of the world's most powerful and wealthy narcissists - all of which played out on their own social media platforms. This breakup must be the most predicted thing to come out of Trump's presidency so far. After the drama of Thursday's outbursts, there seems to be a de-escalation between President Trump and his former benefactor and DOGE leader Elon Musk. Maybe they each realised they're unlikely to win outright, with the other having a platform to keep the jabs coming. Or maybe a little more strategic thought is going into next moves, although I'm not sure how much lower the blows could have gone. But if you're looking for alternative entertainment this weekend, I can recommend Netflix's The Survivors. The Aussie series is based on a Jane Harper novel set in Tasmania, and tells the story of how a present-day death in a coastal town brings back difficult memories of a 15-year-old tragedy when 3 young people died at sea. It's a crime drama filled with small town secrets, buried trauma and grief. At the heart of this film, giving another acting masterclass, is our very own Kiwi legend Robyn Malcolm. Every time I see Malcolm in a new role I say it's her best performance yet - she's at the very top of her game. It occurred to me this weekend that she's always been at the top of her game - whether on Shortland St, Outrageous Fortune, Jane Campion's Top of the Lake or Aussie comedies like Rake or Upper Middle Bogan. But there's no doubt Malcolm just keeps getting better. While many other actors discuss the difficulty of getting work once a woman hits a certain age, Malcolm reminds us the middle years can be the glory years. That a life of experience and hard work can lead to the roles of a lifetime. Recent performances in After the Party, Pike River, and The Survivors are giving writers a reason to write wonderfully layered, messed up characters for women like Malcolm to play. If you look at Robyn's resume you'd think she's been employed consistently since walking out of drama school in 1987. But I know it hasn't always been easy. Being an actor is not an easy life no matter how damn good you are. But watching Malcolm, along with Dianne Taylor, pick up a pen and create a project for herself - the Bafta-nominated After the Party - proves you can be middle aged, relevant, celebrated and seen, if you want to be. It's hard to take your eyes off her in The Survivor. But just wait until you see her in Rob Sarkies' new film Pike River, which is being released in New Zealand in October. Yip, you guessed it. Her best work yet. Seriously, she is spectacular as Sonya Rockhouse. There is no doubt 2025 is going to be a great year for Malcolm, and I'm sure it's just the beginning of an amazing third act. Picture it, Boston, 1995. A young man from Meriden, CT decides to uproot his life and move to a new city. New faces, new friends, and plenty of new music. It has been 30 years since I made the fateful decision to make the move to Boston. It was also a time to expand my musical palette. Thankfully, there was plenty of new music to choose from, with tons of second hand music shops like CD Spins, interspersed with the big retailers like Tower Records.Much of the music on the radio at the time was not for me (except TLC!), but thanfully there were rock friendly radio stations in the city, as well as some of the best clubs to see live music. TT the Bears and The Middle East come to mind. Acts that would go on to become huge stars got their big breaks in 1995, while smaller indie, punk, and metal bands were just reaching their loftiest heights. Bands like Shelter and Jawbreaker achieved their biggest commercial successes, while bands like Rancid and Presidents of the United States of America were getting some air time on radio stations like WBCN and WAAF.Plus, legends like Faith No More, Radiohead and Fugazi added to their legacies in 1995. Oh, and some band called Oasis had a huge record or something. And everyone was asking the question, "What is a Foo Fighter"?

He also talked about the team's early struggles this season and why he's not concerned about them, the loss of Larry Dolan, as well as the makeup of the team's roster and how they've been improving every game. He also discussed what they worked on in the off-season, the prospects that are developing in the minor leagues, and the excitement they have for Travis Bazzana.
In the 1 o'clock hour, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by switching gears to the economy, discussing the negative impact of President Trump's Liberation Day. Dom plays back audio from Senator John Kennedy, who echoes Giordano's concern for the short term negative implications in the stock market. Then, Dom tells of a claim of racism made centered around the game of baseball. At 1:30, Dom welcomes Deputy Assistant to the President and Principal Deputy Communications Director Alex Pfeiffer onto the Dom Giordano Program to take us inside the White House, behind the scenes after Trump's Liberation Day announcement. Pfeiffer comments on the negative media bias surrounding Trump's announcement, and explains why, although the short term may be tough, the retaliatory tariffs will ultimately benefit all Americans.
