In the evangelical classic The Cross and the Switchblade, David Wilkerson tells the story of his ministry to a street gang and the dramatic conversion of Nicky Cruz, a knife-wielding teenage gang leader. About 20 years later Cruz himself wrote a book called The Magnificent Three in which he wrote, “Something has emerged in my walk with God that has become the most important element of my discipleship. It has become the thing that sustains me, that feeds me, that keeps me steady when I am shaky. I have come to see God, to know Him, to relate to Him as Three-in-One, God as Trinity.”He continues, “God is a magnificent Father. God is a magnificent Savior, Jesus Christ. But if it were not for the magnificent Holy Spirit, I would still be a wretched, hateful sinner! It is not enough to have a Father-God who loves and provides for me. It is not enough even to have a Savior who died for my sins. For any of those blessings to make a difference in our lives, there must also be present in this world that Third Person of God, the Holy Spirit.”We refer to the Trinity regularly. We confess our faith and are baptized and blessed in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but do you see this truth as magnificent? The Text: “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. THIRD PERSON: Gifts of the Spirit - Into Carol Betts 31-May-2026 9am
Dr. Erin King Mullins is a double board-certified general and colorectal surgeon with 12 years in practice and founder of Colorectal Wellness Center in Metro Atlanta. In this episode, she shares the hard-won business lessons from a difficult exit from her fellowship practice, how she navigated a non-compete clause that left her unable to stay or relocate, and the step-by-step path to launching solo private practice — while pregnant with her second child. Dr. Mullins and host Dr. Amy Vertrees cover what every surgeon must know about physician employment contracts: why you should read your exit clause before your salary, the critical difference between radius-based and entity-based non-competes, and what at-will employment actually means for physicians. They also discuss the human side of running a medical practice — from firing employees the right way to separating friendship from business decisions. In the second half of the episode, Dr. Mullins pulls back the curtain on her experience as a volunteer director with the American Board of Surgery (ABS) — including how complaint reviews actually work, what due process looks like for a surgeon facing a board action, and how the new Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA) framework is transforming resident training and surgical education. Whether you're considering private practice, navigating a contract negotiation, or just want to understand what the ABS actually does for surgeons, this episode is required listening.

THIRD PERSON: Longing for the Spirit Ann Coles 17-May-2026 9am
Today is the feast of the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Holy Trinity whom St. Augustine described as the Love that binds together the Father and the Son. Since the Holy Spirit is given to us in an objective way through the Sacraments, are we attentive to the Holy Spirit's guidance in our lives? When He is speaking to us, do we respond?
What does it truly mean to live in the Spirit of God?In this powerful Pentecost-centered episode, we dive into the life-changing reality of the Holy Spirit and God's invitation into deeper relationship. Pentecost was not simply a moment in history — it was the beginning of a Spirit-filled Church and a reminder that the same Holy Spirit who descended upon the apostles is still alive and moving today.Together we explore Jesus' words to the apostles, His promise of the Advocate, and the transformation that took place when fearful disciples became bold witnesses through the power of the Holy Spirit. This episode unpacks: • The meaning and significance of Pentecost Sunday • Jesus' promise of the Holy Spirit as our Advocate and Guide • The Holy Spirit as the Third Person of the Trinity • Scripture reflections from Acts, John, Romans, Galatians, and Corinthians • The difference between living according to the flesh and living in the Spirit • The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit — Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord • How God works through every season of life — including struggle, waiting, and uncertainty • This is an invitation to move beyond routine religion and step into authentic relationship with God — living as beloved sons and daughters led by His Spirit.Come, Holy Spirit. This episode is for anyone longing for deeper faith, renewed courage, and a fresh encounter with the presence and power of God.Check out the EF3LIFE platform on social media @ef3life and visit www.ef3life.com for inspiring faith filled content and books:-The SAINT Next Door-FIRE Burning Within
This Sunday we will launch an in-depth study of the so-called Third Person of the Trinity, i.e., the Holy Spirit. We'll begin by asking some basic questions like: Who or what is the Holy Spirit? How do I receive the Holy Spirit? And most importantly, why should I care? What's the big deal?
The Upper Room Mystery: Unlocking Mary's Hidden Role at Pentecost. If the Holy Spirit had already overshadowed Mary at the Annunciation, why did she need to be there for Pentecost? This week, we go beyond the surface of Acts 2 to explore the breathtaking theological reality of the Virgin Mary's relationship with the Holy Spirit. We trace the scriptural threads from Genesis to the Upper Room to reveal how Mary acts as the bridge between Christ and the Church. If you've ever wanted to understand the Holy Trinity deeper, or wondered about the true roots of Marian theology, this episode is for you. Key Topics Covered: The Spouse of the Spirit: Understanding the unique, unrepeatable bond between Mary and the Third Person of the Trinity. The Mother of the Church: How Mary's maternal role shifted on the day of Pentecost. True Spiritual Fire: What the "tongues of fire" mean for modern Christians striving for holiness. ✨ Loved this episode? In this episode of Master Fiction Writing, we untangle one of the most confusing pieces of fiction craft: third-person point of view.Because “write it in third person” sounds simple enough until you realise third person can mean several very different things. We'll look at five major forms of third-person narration:Third-person objective, where the reader only sees what can be observed from the outside.Third-person limited, where we stay inside one character's perspective at a time.Third-person deep or close limited, where the prose moves tightly into a character's lived experience.Third-person multiple limited, where several characters carry the story in separate scenes or chapters. And third-person omniscient, where a larger narrative intelligence can move beyond any one character's mind.Using the same scene, we'll explore how each form changes the reader's experience of intimacy, tension, voice, distance, and information. This is a practical, example-led episode for writers who want to understand not just what point of view is, but how to choose the right kind of third person for the story they're trying to tell. And if you enjoy the podcast and would like to support future episodes, you can buy me a virtual coffee over on Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/masterfictionwritingNo pressure at all, but it does help keep the podcast going, and lets me pretend I'm a terrifyingly organised media empire rather than one man talking earnestly about point of view into a microphone.

In this Growth Spurt, Anthony Alibro breaks down a simple but powerful mental shift: third-person self-talk. By replacing "I am overwhelmed" with "(your name) is overwhelmed," you create psychological distance that reduces emotional intensity and sharpens decision-making. This subtle language tweak can help you regulate stress, think more clearly, and respond like you would for a friend, especially in those high-pressure moments.

Nir Eyal has spent his career studying why people don't do what they know they should. After writing Hooked and Indistractable, he kept getting a strange kind of call: readers who'd read the book, knew the steps, and still didn't do them. That puzzle led him down a six-year research path into the one variable missing from every motivation model: belief. In this conversation, Nir shares the science behind his new NYT bestseller Beyond Belief, and the framework that explains why knowing what to do is never enough. We go deep on the Motivation Triangle (behavior + benefit + belief), the difference between limiting and liberating beliefs, and why positive thinking and visualization can actually make your goals harder to reach. Nir walks through the turnaround process live—we use my own imposter syndrome as the test case—and you'll hear him demonstrate, in real time, how quickly a belief that feels like a fact can dissolve when you examine it. If belief is the hidden ceiling on your performance as a creator, this episode is the blueprint for raising it. Together, with Fr. Mike, we begin our examination of the Third Person of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit, and how God reveals himself as the Holy Spirit in our lives. Fr. Mike emphasizes the words of St. Irenaeus that, “in order to be touched by Christ, we must first be touched by the Holy Spirit.” We also explore eight ways the Catechism lays out for us to be able to understand the Holy Spirit. Today's readings are Catechism Paragraphs 683-688. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. Ever feel like God is a distant mystery rather than a personal presence you can actually know? This sermon kicks off a new series exploring how the Holy Spirit is a person—not just an impersonal "force"—who serves as your daily advocate and teacher. Discover how opening your life to the Spirit can lead to a total transformation and a peace that you can't find anywhere else.
Matt Hertz is the Co-founder of Third Person, a digital marketplace that helps e-commerce brands discover and connect with the right fulfillment partners. He has over 15 years of experience in e-commerce logistics, including early roles at Rent the Runway and Birchbox, and later founded Second Marathon. Through his consulting and marketplace work, Matt has helped thousands of brands — including Hexclad, Away, BarkBox, and Milk Bar — optimize their supply chains and scale more efficiently. Mark Hiddleson is the Owner of Specialized Storage Solutions, Inc., a nationwide logistics company with industry-leading warehouse storage solutions. It provides clients with innovative products, facility layouts, and designs to optimize their logistics operations. With several decades of service experience in the warehousing and logistics industry, Mark has held leadership roles in several professional industry organizations. Using a holistic approach, he also has experience in equipment material handling, operations management, supply chain optimization, professional development, and public speaking. In this episode… Choosing the right third-party logistics partner can make or break an e-commerce business, yet many brands struggle to find the right fit. With countless 3PL options and complex operational needs, logistics mismatches are more common than most expect. How can brands consistently find partners that truly align with their operations and growth goals? For Matt Hertz, a seasoned e-commerce operator and logistics strategist, the key lies in intentional matchmaking driven by data, specialization, and clarity. He highlights how brands and 3PLs often fail by saying yes to the wrong partnerships, leading to inefficiencies and broken relationships. The real impact comes from defining needs upfront and aligning operational strengths on both sides. Drawing on his experience at fast-growing consumer brands, he explains how technology, discipline, and community-based connections help eliminate guesswork and create long-term success in fulfillment. In this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast, Dr. Jeremy Weisz is joined by co-host Mark Hiddleson as they sit down with Matt Hertz, Co-founder of Third Person, to discuss modern 3PL matchmaking and supply chain optimization. They cover common 3PL qualification mistakes, the value of data-driven matching, and why curated industry events outperform large trade shows, along with insights on pricing, specialization, and competitive advantages.
