Mostly Focused

It's been a year since we last recorded, and to quote Bob the tomato, "Have we got a show for you." Garrett, Jonathan, and J.P are back in possibly the most unfocused episode to date. We start with Garrett and Jonathan giving their best unsolicited "Dad Tips" and lessons learned over this year as new dads. We cover some quick thoughts and reactions to the SCOTUS ruling on Roe v. Wade and how the reactions have been all over the spectrum. We hit on Celebrity Culture in the church and our reactions on the validity of it. Lastly, we cover Christians and how we should interact with the holidays. Things get wild quick. Golden Showers. Benny Hinn and his anointed Suit Jackets. Jesus delivers gifts at Christmas. This week Jonathan, JP, & Garrett are joined by special guest Cody Fox as we discuss why Christians have the perception of being a hateful bunch. We break down the why, the how, and what can be changed to reverse this narrative. We also debate if faith & science intersect or if they should remain separate. We delve into healing vs. medication, evolution, and so much more! Cody also takes time share his journey with salvation & how he maintains his faith in the world today. As a bonus we open the show giving our E3 predictions (we recorded this a few days prior to E3). Spoiler alert, we didn't fair so well.

On this weeks episode Jonathan, JP, and Garrett sit down and discuss some of the biggest struggles we have faced in our personal walks with Christ and how hard Christianity can really be at times. We break down how the church should respond to cultural challenges such as Pride Month and the way the church is perceived in its response. We round out the episode by breaking down The Post Pandemic Church and the pros and cons that came from the way the church was forced to evolve. JP takes us down a strange rabbit hole and Jonathan makes some bold predictions, including one about the Queen of England (typical Mostly Focused). Tanner gives us a crash course on the stock market and we discuss the fall of church leaders and what the future of the church may look like post COVID. Lots of hidden gems in this one. We are super excited to be joined by Jerod Warren this week as he shares his journey of faith with us. He walks us through his seasons of loneliness, rejection, belonging, and how in his most broken state, God brought him to salvation. As a bonus, you get a little dash of politics and what Jerod thinks about charismatic beliefs and why he is choosing to travel the world in the new year.

Abortion & Homosexuality, yes, we finally talked about them. Join us this week as we do a deep dive into some of the "taboo" topics of Christianity and how we wrestle with how we should respond. Plus there are some fairly candid conversations about pre-marital sex and pornography and how they have impacted our lives. This week we are joined by Kate and Josh Hughes as they dive into their individual testimonies and their marriage story. There is a lot to unpack, stories off loss to redemption, resentment to reconciliation.
