The sermon series right now is called “Proximity”. It's about being neighbors, sharing space with each other, literally being proximate to people again. As we return to in person worship we want to continue to focus on boundaries and living in community. This message isn't just for people in our direct community in Atlanta, Georgia; For people who have decided or need to maintain distance, like our community online the lessons from the Proximity Sermon series will be resonate for all people as we talk about - “Who is our Neighbor?” This week we hear testimonies from different members of the Park Ave. Community, along with Pastors Henra and Darci and 2 special songs by worship leaders, Aaron Lamont and Jill McAfee.

This sermon series offers another look at sacrifice and the implications of sacrifice in a system that commodifies bodies, that measures worth by work, that is a constant competitive race and some have obstacles whereas others have motorized vehicles. What does sacrifice mean in this time where we are in the midst of a global pandemic and have sacrificed so much and the veil covering an unjust system has been lifted so we see the implications of those who are valued and those who have to fight to matter. We know you will enjoy this rousing sermon and hope you love our online worship! Come Re-Imagine Sacrifice with us. About Park Avenue Baptist: Park Ave is a bold, inclusive, and creative community where everyone is welcome. We uplift voices and identities that are marginalized elsewhere. We affirm all ethnicities, racial identities, ages, socio-economic groups, gender identities and sexual orientations because we hold to a theology that refuses to other anyone. At Park avenue our leadership model is nonhierarchical, and we practice an open pulpit where you will hear a multiplicity of theologically trained voices from different backgrounds and social locations. We don’t just preach and talk about deconstructing systems and structures of power we practice it.
