"We are pulled away from this very early on. This is why we call it magic because it's there, it's natural, it's nature, but we are disconnected from it from very early on because we are told not follow our hearts and not live in accordance with our own inner knowing that we stop abiding in that and start to do things that are solely from a state of survival and societal norms. Following the heart doesn't make sense in a world solely led by intellect. Intellect is not the only way to exist. It's like driving a car on one wheel."Welcome back to Journey with Akia. ESGfitness.co.uk AI Takeaways Balancing work and family life can be challenging, but it's important to embrace the present moment and enjoy the time spent with loved ones. Incorporating weight workouts into a busy schedule can be achieved by adding shorter workouts during the week in addition to a longer session on the weekend. When trying to lose the last few pounds, it's important to continue lifting weights to maintain muscle mass and focus on overall body recomp. Setting goals beyond weight loss, such as performance goals or pursuing hobbies, can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Mobility training can be a useful addition to most people's fitness routines, and it's important to start with basic exercises and gradually progress. Mobility training is important if it helps improve day-to-day activities or addresses specific mobility issues, but it may not be necessary for everyone. Lifting weights with good form can also improve mobility. Consult a doctor if you have low iron levels, as they can provide guidance on supplementation. Food preferences vary among individuals, and it's okay to not enjoy certain foods that others love. When camping, it's important to make sensible food choices, but also to enjoy the experience and not stress too much about food.

The term "Christian" was first use to describe the followers of Jesus in Acts 11. The term initially meant "little Christs." The Bible says that as believers progress in their faith, they will naturally start emulating God's character (fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5). In this lesson, Pastor Philip Jackson continues his series on living out practical theology in everyday life. This passage of 1 John 2 lays out the impact of a culture of obedience and the love that should be produced in the life of a child of God. Find the handout here.

What does it mean to love God? And how can we know that we love Him? Unlike the common perception of love, as merely a feeling, the reality is love is more than just an emotion. In today's passage, we hear Jesus clearly explain what Love for Him truly entails: Through this talk, which continues through the book of John, we are reminded of how Jesus demonstrated the true definition of love, and encouraged to recognize the true meaning and immense benefit of loving Christ.

Growing up in rural Tennessee, Gretchen Bates was always very active. She spent long summer days in her childhood exploring the woods, swimming in creeks, and playing with friends. As a teenager and young adult, Gretchen was competitive in sports and was an avid cyclist, kayaker, open-water swimmer and triathlete. By her early 30s, she had completed her first full-length Ironman competition, logged over 15,000 miles on her bike, and finished three separate, fully independent bicycle tours. At 5'6” tall (167 CM) and 160 pounds (73 kg), she was a healthy, athletically built woman. By her late 30s, Gretchen left her physically active career to return to school for her Masters Degree. She started a new career after graduation, leading to long hours behind a desk. The new stationary career and her naturally slowing metabolism started to take its toll. By her 40th birthday, Gretchen weighed 185 pounds (84 kg). To control her weight, she spent several years experimenting with low-calorie and fad diets. Nothing seemed to work. At 44 years old, Gretchen's weight ballooned again when her mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Gretchen became her primary caregiver, took on the management of her mother's small business, and was responsible for her mother's personal and health affairs, all while juggling her career. The weight of being a full-time caregiver left Gretchen physically and emotionally exhausted. Like many caregivers, she was chronically stressed and started suffering from depression. Simultaneously, the Covid pandemic swept through North America, her mother's condition worsened, and by 46 years old, Gretchen had reached her all-time highest weight of 220 pounds (100 kg). A sudden health scare forced Gretchen to take a hard look at her lifestyle and to make drastic changes to reclaim her health. After 15 months of Intermittent Fasting, Gretchen reached her goal weight range of 140-150 pounds (63-68 kg). She continues to try new fasting protocols and works to strengthen her fasting muscles by practising TRE, mindful eating, and avoiding sugar and processed foods. She fully embraces her new fasting lifestyle and strives for optimal health. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/graeme-currie/message

TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, they kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen.
