Cinepoem, combined teaser of 3 works: Every fragment in this universe contains the whole. Three realities of 9: New Vague City is a tv show in the US: a micro-reality. Corpus Enigma is a film-myth in Roma: the meta-reality. A is the macro exploration of human civilisation and its evolution, distortion and amnesia. All three works are interconnected, they hold and feed into each other through the missions I undertake in 3 different geographies and timelines. I am poised on, stripping off the estrangement, abstractions nailed on the core faculty that is present in every human being, yet, which also remains distorted or even unrecognised: the spirit.. true manifestation of the individual. The spirit, I speak of is not a given. It’s not a religious contract. It must be formed and nurtured in the cauldron of life with resistance. My life is a film, yes, the camera is my pen and cinematographic medium is where I unite all my powers of the image, sound and words. Moreover, the film is the very plate upon which I form my spirit in the immediacy and simultaneous complexity of its meta-language, in the speed of life as we experience and open endless footnotes of insights... A little moment from a highly technical rehearsal for the set up of custom built analogue processors created by long term Pink Floyd collaborator Jeff Blenksinsopp, KiNo's producer. The song being worked out here is Hello Man, a concept single written to communicate the history of humanity in a single stroke, in the powerful meta-languague of the Poet of Sound and Image. Poet of Sound and Image is a feature film with live sequences by which KiNo manifests his potential as a cultural and spiritual rebel in person. Booming across 7 years of documentation, KiNo’s universe bursts upon and outside the screen with a personal cinematic language and an unmistakable musical touch unified by poetic conscience. The film is partially a documentary and a retroactive testimony of a young poet who has, at each step of his development, consistently clashed with the symptoms of a confused civilisation; transitioning from 20th to 21st century, analogue to digital, local to global. In the beginning, KiNo arrives in New York to embark on his creative journey.. few days before September 11, 2001. In the end, through his trials and tribulations, it is divulged that the cultural, artistic and spiritual integrity of humanity is suffering greatly from a process of dehumanisation. The common denominator is led to replace real life experiences with internet antics and gadgets. Essentially, by isolating the creative elements of image, sound and words, KiNo reveals the current condition of the human psyche in the claws of vacuous industries controlling the surface reality; every idiosyncrasy of the amnesiac Western Civilisation from news to entertainment.
