I'm Martin Evans. In order to appear more interesting, I felt it fit to start speaking to a variety of spectacular people in order to make my dull life appear all the more fantastic. Rants with Pants is a collection of stories and interviews with a South African narrative running through them.
Bob and I spoke a couple of years back. I lost the content. Been struggling to get motivated. Bob called me for his own podcast last week. Felt it was the perfect time to revisit this. Photo credit to Paige Furness Violin intro Rayelle Goodman

A few days ago, I released a vintage podcast recording with the Starving Comics with Rustum August, Gino Fernandez and Kurt Langeveld. The guy's have moved on several years since then. I got the chance to get the new crew up on the roof for a chat. This time with Milo Hot Chocolate and Dylan Skews. Paul Snodgrass, not a part of the crew was over anyway. So we got him to join in all the same.
More of a rant this time. On the 18th July, it will be the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela. I am wondering if we have just let the big guy down since he passed. A little chat about the drought and the economy has thrown in for good measure. Because yes, I'm in a bit of a mood. Why is Naomi Cambell photoshopped onto some money? Well who else do you think about when trying to eradicate poverty. Exactly.
Rob van Vuuren and I went on a quest to find the best polony and a bit of it's backstory. Recorded in 2011. Long before Listeria was a concern amongst the people. Part two is in production now, where we follow up on the story and see how things have changed. We made our way out to Rylands to the Golden Dish. A legend in the Cape community for the gatsby's. Join us as we uncover a far tastier story than we expected.
David Kramer took us on an audio journey of his career. Recorded at his home in Cape Town. I have removed the interviewing questions and just allowed David to talk and on occasion play his guitar for us. The audio was recorded several years ago in preparation for David's upcoming Oppikoppi show in 2011. The interview was conducted with Rob Van Vuuren and Martin Evans. Due to internet issues back then, I was unable to release this. The file name was lost in the ether and I recently uncovered it again. Upon listening I felt that it was a fantastic interview with David and felt that it was more than worth putting online.
It was 2011. I was in a flat in Tamboerskloof in Cape Town. I had the "Starving Comics" group having a chat with me. Since then, we have tragically lost Rustum August to cancer. I discovered this podcast by chance and think that those that knew Rustum would enjoy hearing this. Joining me in the conversation is Gino Fernandez and Kurt Langeveld. I got the chance to speak with this just a few days ago. They have a new group called "The Bandits of Comedy" they are working under and I will release that podcast in a few days from now. Thanks for listening. If you enjoyed this, please don't forget to share and subscribe. I will be releasing new stories and interviews regularly.
Another one of the vintage reissue's. I spoke with the fresh crew from Durban's Comedy Invasion at the 2011 National Arts Festival. In the years that have gone by, much has changed in the Durban comedy input in the land. The guys have all gone onto bigger and better things. Awesome to look back at a chapter in their career and how much change was going to take place. I had Robby Collins, Jem Atkins, Dusty Rich, Glen Bo and Simmi Areff chatting to me. Enjoy.
