    Jarrett is the two-time winner of the Third to Fourth Grade Book of the Year in the Children’s Choice Book Awards, has emceed the ceremony twice, and has seen his work recommended by national publications like Newsweek, The New York Times and USA Today. He is also the host of The Book Report with JJK on SiriusXM’s Kids’ Place Live, a twice-a-month segment celebrating authors, books and reading. His Punk Farm and Lunch Lady series are both in development to be feature films. In 2013 his Lunch Lady series will end and he will launch Platypus Police Squad, a new chapter book series. Jarrett is happily living out his childhood dream in Northampton, Massachusetts, where he resides with his wife and two daughters and their pug, Ralph Macchio.     In this fifth episode of RISD Voice, we interviewed Drew Freeman. Drew graduated from RISD from graphic design with a BFA in 2001 and BGD in 2002. Drew went on to work for Pentagram, the world's largest independent design consultancy. At Pentagram, Andrew is an Associate Partner to Paula Scher and has developed identity and branding systems, promotional materials, websites, environmental graphics, packaging and publication designs for a broad range of clients that includes, among others, Bloomberg, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Citibank, Hershey's, Target, Columbia Records, Cohen Brothers Realty, The Street, Shake Shack, Spike Lee, Robin Hood Foundation, The Public Theater, Philadelphia Orchestra, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Pittsburgh Children’s Museum, the High Line, NYC Parks, and The New York Times. Since this interview took place, Drew is now the Founder and Principal of afreeman, a design consultancy that develops identity and branding systems, promotional materials, new media, packaging, publication design, signage and environmental graphics for a broad range of clients.

    In this episode, Melissa Rivera from Unleash Studio talks about her experience at RISD as both an undergraduate student in industrial design (2001) and a graduate student in art & design education (2005). After graduation, Melissa moved to Hawaii to teach at various schools and universities while starting her own design studio. Melissa is also a founding member of the RISD Alumni Club in Hawaii.

    In this second episode of RISD Voice, we interviewed Robert Moorhead at Moorhead and Moorhead. Robert received his Bachelor of Fine Arts and his Bachelor of Industrial Design from RISD in 1996. In 2000, he and his brother, Granger Moorhead, co-founded Moorhead and Moorhead, a New York-based architecture and industrial design studio. Their work has been widely recognized internationally, including being part of the Cooper-Hewitt's 2006 National Design Triennial. In 2008 they were named Emerging Voices by the Architectural League of New York.

    This is the first episode of the RISD Voice podcast. In this episode, we interviewed Nat Hesse, a RISD Alum who graduated from sculpture in 1976. Nat is the founder of Sculpture Ranch. Located in Sante Fe, New Mexico, the Sculpture Ranch is a venue for outdoor and land-based art. It includes a 14 acre exhibition park, a gallery and a theater-in-the-round. The Ranch hosts a semi-annual invitational show of sculpture, installations, and performance art. Nat spoke about how he eventually got into RISD (OMG, RISD was not his first love?), some great stories about lessons learned from RISD, and how he went from painting houses to creating the sculpture ranch.
