This is a trailer for Christmas Stories, a seasonal podcast. Every year we write and record a Christmas story. A story for Halloween, written in 2021 A group of teenagers living just outside of Berlin are haunted by violent visions of Germany's past. Inspired by a holiday to Gross Glienicke just outside Berlin in 2019. We chose to stay there mostly because of the book The House by the Lake (https://uk.bookshop.org/books/the-house-by-the-lake/9780099592044), about a house there that has sat at the centre of twentieth century German history. A story for Halloween, written in 2020 Locked down on my own in the East End of London, spending my time walking, alone, around the deserted City, I started thinking about all the ghosts who must haunt the empty buildings, and how they must be getting lonely too. I started wondering how safe it might be to be the lone living person among all these dead. And then I began to think that perhaps I had done enough walking for one day and maybe I'd better go home.
