This is a trailer for Christmas Stories, a seasonal podcast. Every year we write and record a Christmas story. The stories are released in 24 episodes, usually about ten to fifteen minutes long, one for every day of December up to Christmas Day, a sort of audiobook advent calendar. The stories are usually written by me, Tobias Sturt, and read by the actor Jon Millington. They're all very different: from the steam driven shenanigans of the Adventure Calendar of Mr Timothy Hope to the delightful Christmas spent in The Apartment Store by the little girl Lydia and her family and friends. But they all take Christmas seriously - or at least as seriously as it should be taken: which is both not at all and entirely too much. We have a Patreon page: https://patreon.com/christmasstories and a Ko-fi page: https://ko-fi.com/christmasstories You can get in touch with us through our website: www.christmasstories.co.uk, where you can also find more Christmas stories. A story for Halloween, written in 2021 A group of teenagers living just outside of Berlin are haunted by violent visions of Germany's past. Inspired by a holiday to Gross Glienicke just outside Berlin in 2019. We chose to stay there mostly because of the book The House by the Lake (https://uk.bookshop.org/books/the-house-by-the-lake/9780099592044), about a house there that has sat at the centre of twentieth century German history. Meanwhile I was also reading James Hawes' A Shortest History of Germany (https://uk.bookshop.org/books/the-shortest-history-of-germany/9781910400739). These books and a lonely bus stop on the way to Spandau collided in my head to produce visions of lost Roman legions, the cruelties of the Thirty Years War and all the horrors of modern Germany. I'm fun to go on holiday with. The music is: 'Thinking Music' by Kevin MacLeod (https://filmmusic.io/song/4522-thinking-music) Effects from Freesound (https://freesound.org/people/redskelington/bookmarks/category/148670/): craigsmith, giddster, karlis.stigis, forfie, raugdae, dobroide, cciecko, Garuda1982, mrsorbias, inchadney
