Episode Notes [Warning: The following episode contains sudden loud noises. Viewer discretion is advised.] Clementina Bianchi is back where they started - the Titan city of New Penzance - with a vengeance. Determined to prove themself, Clem has started a new type of job for Strelitzia, whose plans to rebel against the city's entertainment-obsessed elite edges closer to its climax. The closer Clem gets to those plans, the blurrier the line gets between job and passion - and between luck and fate. Kai Swanson as Clem Bianchi; Lex Fraser as Strelitzia; Jarrod Hill as Vance Tarr; and Scott Jacobson as Alder; with Wheels Wheeler, Max Newland and Jay Petrequin as the ensemble. Episode Notes [Warning: The following episode contains sudden loud noises, and a depiction of height-based peril.] Clem Bianchi arrives at New Penzance, gingerly carrying a box of goop-based explosives on its way to a legendary drug maven - who, for some reason, needs goop-based explosives. When an old friend from a previous visit shows up, Clem accepts his offer of a quick route through town - only to come face-to-face with the footprint that a hoverboard sports superdrome has left on the people of New Penzance. Starring: Kai Swanson as Clem Bianchi; Felix Kingsley as DOGA; Scott Jacobson as Alder; and Lex Fraser as Strelitzia; with Ron White and Reina McCurry as Borgos and Gorbos; Jay Petrequin as Rongo Gulch; and Anna Stein, Jay Petrequin and Wheels Wheeler as the ensemble. Dort konnte man endlich durchschlafen. Und sich Sachen ausdenken. Fallen etwa. A story for Halloween, written in 2020 Locked down on my own in the East End of London, spending my time walking, alone, around the deserted City, I started thinking about all the ghosts who must haunt the empty buildings, and how they must be getting lonely too. I started wondering how safe it might be to be the lone living person among all these dead. And then I began to think that perhaps I had done enough walking for one day and maybe I'd better go home. Welcome back, citizen! Invasive species are a hot topic these days. With pythons in Florida and Lion Fish at the Atlantic coast, they're making news everywhere. But what exactly is an "invasive species" and how do we control them? I'll answer those questions and talk to Kristen Wickert from West Virginia University about how she's learning to control an invasive tree. If you want to learn more about this episode's topics, here are some links: Kudzu (Atlantic Journal Constitution) Kudzu (Smithsonian Magazine) Lion Fish (NOAA) Lion Fish (Nature) Biolcontrol (Sciencing.com) Biocontrol (Biocontrol Journal) Cane Toads (National Geographic) Cane Toads (Australian Government) Mongoose (Hawaiian Government) Mongoose (MauiInvasive.org) Mongoose (BigIslandNow.com) Tree-of-Heaven (Nature Conservancy) Tree-of-Heaven (Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources) Tree-of-Heaven (USDA) A photo comparing healthy and infected branches: A photo showing the transfer of purple dye in Kristen's experiment: Thank you to Kristen Wickert from West Virginia University for sharing her expertise on the show and to Dr. Marin Brewer for her contribution to De-funked!
