Produced by Joseph Cottrell, Wayne Hall, Ken Fuller and Jeffrey Crecelius As you will hear, I was looking at one of the amazing photos in the Barry Plummer Calendar (available now from YesMusicBooks.com) recently, when I noticed something peculiar about Chris Squire. I think what Barry has captured is a unique moment in Yes concert history. I don't think Chris ever did this in any other situation than the shows on the 1975 Relayer tour - and maybe not all of those performances. I have watched the QPR video many times but I hadn't realised exactly what was going on until I saw this photo and then re-watched the QPR performance. After watching that QPR version, Mark and I also took a careful look at a much later version, from the Yes Acoustic video. It's very different. I've included a heavily watermarked version of the Squire photo below but if you want to enjoy the full-quality version, you know what to do. Order the calendar now while there's still time to receive it before the New Year. So, what do you think I'm on about? Stay tuned for the full rabbit hole exploration with Mark. What's unique about the QPR live situation? What is that guitar? Which is the 'better' version? See if you agree with us and then leave a comment below. https://youtu.be/4no3GuKh_I4?si=BSfk-4UqXv5grwSI https://youtu.be/bjlsEEK-MzI?si=41RJdIFC-tCzitMI https://youtu.be/Di0lu84Ux8o?si=tQvMnyzAgU8qVnCk Barry Plummer 2026 Calendar is now available! Feliks Banel's guest on this BONUS EPISODE of CASCADE OF HISTORY is Melissa Slager, who earlier this year published a historical novel called "Contests of Strength," which focuses on the Cascadia Tsunami of January 26, 1700 and its impact on the Makah people living near what's now Cape Flattery and Neah Bay. While researching and writing her book over a period of 14 years, Ms. Slager worked closely with members of the Makah Tribe, and learned the Makah language. Melissa Slager will be discussing her research at the Everett Public Library in downtown Everett, WA on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at an event which is free and open to the public. In her presentation, Slager will describe the impact of the devastating 1700 tsunami, and how indigenous survival stories worldwide offer a template for surviving the next "Big One." Bookwaves/Artwaves is produced and hosted by Richard Wolinsky. Links to assorted local theater & book venues Chelsea Quinn Yarbro (1942-2025) Tanith Lee (1947-2015) This program honors two master practitioners of horror, fantasy and science fiction, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and Tanith Lee, with two interviews back to back. In the first, in 1983, Tanith Lee is interviewed by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. In the second, in 1979, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro is interviewed by Richard Wolinsky. Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, who died on August 31, 2025 at the age of 82, was best known for her historical horror novels featuring the vampire the Count Saint.-Germain. Along the way, she wrote in several genres, including science fiction and westerns, and wrote over seventy novels, along with several short stories. Along with her writing, which includes a series of books about a channeler, titled Messages from Michael, she was a cartographer, palm reader, and composer. In 2009, she received the Bram Stoker Lifetime Achievement Award from the Horror Writers Association. She also wrote novels under several pseudonyms. In this podcast, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro joins Richard A. Lupoff to speak with Tanith Lee. In the second interview, she talks about her vampire hero. Count Saint-Germain, and about writing historical horror fiction. It was recorded shortly after her second San Germain novel, The Palace, was published, which would put it in late 1978 or early 1979.. Tanith Lee, who died of breast cancer in 2015 at the age of 67, also wrote fantasy, science fiction and horror, and her work is considered to be similar and a forerunner of the work of Neil Gaiman. She received a lifetime achievement award from the World Horror Convention in 2013. Nominated for several awards for her novels and short stories, she won the 1980 British Fantasy Award for her novel, Death's Master. In this first undated tnterview from Probabilities, most likely recorded at BayCon in San Jose in November 1983, Tanith Lee is interviewed by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and Richard A. Lupoff. This is the only interview conducted by Quinn Yarbro for Probabilities. Tanith Lee's novel set during the French Revolution was eventually retitled The Gods Are Thirsty, and was finally published in 1996. You've been listening to an interview with Tanith Lee, conducted by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and Richard A. Lupoff for the Probabilities radio program on KPFA. There's something about this time of year. The lights, the gatherings, the way the air itself feels full of both memory and expectation. For many, it's a season of connection and dinners, rituals and familiar traditions. But for many others, maybe for you this year, it's also a time that triggers memories and sadness. Maybe you feel the absence of someone who used to be there. Maybe the family table looks different now. Maybe you're navigating co-parenting, a smaller family, a quiet house, or too many invitations when you crave stillness. Wherever you find yourself this season, I want to remind you; you're not alone in those feelings. This episode is for the hearts that hold both gratitude and grief and for the women who are learning that peace isn't found in perfection, it's found in presence and authenticity. Kristina and Anna unpack how the Inner Villain system shows up in everyday life: time blindness, rule-set clashes, obsessive “fixing,” and the loneliness of divide-and-conquer living. Kristina shares how mold, town history, and nervous-system patterns mirrored the Evasive Expert arc—and the practical “FUNNY” framework she and Luke use to slow down, reconnect, and shift out of overthinking. Be Unmessablewith: The Podcast hosted by Josselyne Herman-Saccio
In this episode of the Be Unmessablewith® podcast, I walk you through a simple, repeatable system to stop “powering through” and start using a “pattern interrupt” to shift from reaction to creation, fast.If you've ever snapped at someone over something tiny, canceled a promise because you were emotionally fried, or felt that spirally, tight-chest, clenched-jaw day… this conversation is your reset button. I break down why those signs aren't a personal failure; they're signals. Your nervous system is telling you: you've left the world of vision and slipped into survival mode. Good news? With the right intervention method, you can switch operating systems and come back to the world of creation in minutes. What you'll hear in this episodeThe Red-Flag Reframe: Why stress cues (tight chest, jaw, racing mind, snappiness) aren't problems, they're pathways back to vision. The 2-Minute Reset: A physical interrupt (breath, shake, stretch, rubber band) to downshift your nervous system and reduce stress fast.Choose Your Operating System: One question that moves you from reaction to creation on demand.Vision overBusywork: How to reconnect to what you're creating (the experience of life you want: freedom, joy, connection, play)Tiny Moves, Big Momentum: Why small, consistent actions aligned to your vision reignite motivation and break analysis paralysis. If you want to have your WORD be your WAND to create anything you want, Join Word Bootcamp: My brand-new ONE TIME ONLY LIVE ON ZOOM, 4-week workshop to build the muscle of your word so that your word is law in the universe. Every winter, it happens… Your clubs collect dust, your swing feels distant, and that quiet voice creeps in: "What if I lose everything I worked for this season?" But what most golfers lose in the off-season isn't their mechanics — it's their confidence. You stop swinging. You stop visualizing. You stop feeling like a golfer. And by the time spring rolls around, you're not just rusty — you're hesitant, uncertain, and disconnected from the player you were just a few months ago. Here's the truth: confidence isn't built under sunshine and scorecards — it's built in the dark. It's built in the quiet reps no one sees, the small acts of discipline that nobody celebrates. This winter, you have a choice: You can coast, like every other golfer who slides backward once the weather turns… or you can treat these months like Separation Season — your chance to build confidence, sharpen your edge, and step into spring already playing the best golf of your life. In this episode, you'll learn: Why most golfers lose confidence, not mechanics, in the off-season — and how to protect it. The four mental traps that create regression and how to beat each one. How to set a minimum effective dose for practice, fitness, and mindset work. The identity shift needed to think, train, and prepare like a golfer year-round. And how to design an off-season plan that builds momentum now — so you never have to "find your swing" again. If you're ready to break the typical golf season pattern of two steps forward, three steps back, and breakthrough to play to your potential in 2026, this episode is for you. Get your pencils ready and start listening. P.S. Curious to learn more about the results my clients are experiencing and what they say about working with me? Read more here. Instagram: @thegolfhypnotherapist Key Takeaways: Confidence decays first. Touch a club and your routine multiple times per week to keep the "golfer" identity alive. Beat all-or-nothing with a minimum-effective-dose: short, repeatable sessions > heroic plans you won't sustain. Comfort creep is costly. Indulgence is fine; defaulting to comfort isn't. Keep micro-standards through the holidays. Excuses in a suit are still excuses. "I'll wait for better conditions" trains retreat, not resilience. Accountability accelerates. Coach, community, or check-ins — add a scoreboard and you'll show up. Lift the floor. Off-season is perfect for strength, mobility, and power so your worst days get better. Calendar = commitment. If it isn't blocked, it isn't real. Audit, schedule, and protect your reps. Key Quotes: "Confidence isn't built in season — it's built in the dark." "Most golfers don't lose ground from weather; they lose it from mental drift." "All-or-nothing is perfectionism dressed up as logic." "Comfort is a habit. So is consistency. Choose which one you'll practice." "Excuses preserve the ego but poison momentum." "Raise the floor this winter — strength and identity travel." "If it's not on your calendar, it's not a priority. It's a wish." What if the life we're meant to live is simpler — and deeper — than we've been told? Long before faith got tangled in rules and rituals, there was a call to something more human: do what's right, love with compassion, and live with humility. This November, we're exploring that call — not just as an idea, but as a way of life. If you're searching for meaning, justice, or a more grounded way to move through the world, this conversation is for you. No pressure. No pretending. Just real talk about what matters. Join Pastor John to learn more. Also, we highly encourage you to download the Church Center App if you want more information about the church. Produced by Joseph Cottrell, Wayne Hall, Ken Fuller and Jeffrey Crecelius In last week's episode about Chris Squire's Star Licks video, I was intrigued to notice that Trevor Rabin had also produced one and I had never watched it. Now that we are blessed with YouTube and the efforts of dedicated fans like, in this case, @YesSource, we can all enjoy watching Trevor in all his 1992 glory as he discusses not only his guitars but also his technique, studio practices, soloing approaches, songwriting and lots more. It's almost an hour of Yes goodness and Mark and I very much enjoyed watching and discussing this week, as you'll hear. Once again, as you can imagine, we get deep into the weeds, particularly as Mark is an expert on studio kit and instruments and I'm, well, I'm along for the ride at least. I did, however learn a great deal I didn't know about the great Mr. Rabin's musicianship and kit, which is nice. You'll find the video we talk about below. What secrets does Trevor share? What kit does he show off? What do we learn about Yes music from this video? "What is the best podcast platform for beginners?" The short answer is – it depends on you and your goals! I cover several popular podcast hosting platforms, including Captivate, Transistor, Buzzsprout, Podbean, and Libsyn. My personal favorite is Captivate because for $19 a month, you can create unlimited podcasts and episodes, with only a price increase if you go over 30,000 downloads. I use Captivate for multiple shows and love its feature set.I also highlight the importance of understanding your goals: Are you trying to sell your own stuff (like my book "Profit from Your Podcast") or are you aiming for advertising revenue? I explain how selling your own products can often be more profitable than relying on podcast ad revenue for most beginners. You're Going to Have a Learning CurveWhile each hosting platform has a learning curve, they're all pretty approachable. Don't stress about being a beginner – take a day or a few hours to watch tutorials and get to know the software. I encourage you to treat this learning phase as putting gas in your tank for a smoother ride ahead. For those wanting extra help, I offer step-by-step videos and support through the School of Podcasting. Take Control of Your Calendar This Week (Before It Controls You) October 30, 2025 | Episode 5214 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Your calendar running your life instead of you running it? Look. I've seen those AI calendar apps you're using. Five-minute blocks. Color-coded chaos. That's manager thinking, not founder thinking. Here's what nobody gets: High performers don't manage their day five minutes at a time. They hold space. They protect time. They say no without apologizing. This week I'm breaking down exactly how I went from calendar chaos to actually controlling when I work. Thursday planning. Standing appointments. Deep work days that people can't touch. And yeah, my biggest problem now? Other people who learned this system trying to move MY calendar around. Time is all you got. Somebody's trying to take it from you right now. Featured Story Ever look at your week and realize you don't even know what's happening today? That was me. Getting pulled around by everyone else's agenda. No time to think. No time to create. Just reacting. So I started doing something simple on Thursdays. I'd sit down mid-to-late day and plan the next week. Not hoping it would work out. Actually blocking it in place. Monday and Tuesday became deep work days. Wednesday and Thursday morning for coaching. Friday? Motorcycle day or whatever I want. Here's the weird part: When I started holding that space and saying no, people just... went along with it. Took a few weeks. But it worked. Now my biggest challenge? The people I taught this to trying to reschedule me. "Scott, I'm doing my Perfect Week Planner, need to move you." Nope. Not moving. Your time is all you got, man. Important Points Why managing your day in five-minute blocks is killing your ability to do creative work and make real money (and what founders do instead). The Thursday planning ritual that locks in your next week before the Sunday scaries hit and everyone starts grabbing your time. How holding space for deep work days forces people to work around you instead of you constantly moving around them—even if you don't think you have that control yet. Memorable Quotes "Time is all you got, man. That's all you got. And somebody on this planet, every single day for the rest of your life is going to try to take your damn time from you." "If you want more money, you got to get this under control. I'm sorry." "Why do I do it on Thursday? Common sense. I just noticed that a lot of y'all were trying to figure it on Friday. You're all stressed out." "This is a kind of meandering episode today, which is kind of what I do best. My whole thing is to meander all over the place." Scott's Three-Step Approach 1. Plan your next week every Thursday (mid-to-late day works best)—lock in your schedule before Friday stress hits and before the Sunday scaries make you reactive instead of intentional about your time. 2. Block your deep work days first—protect Monday/Tuesday for creative work, hold specific days for focused tasks, and make standing appointments for everything else so people move around you instead of you constantly rearranging your life. 3. Start saying no and holding your ground—people will test you at first, but within 2-3 weeks they'll just go along with your schedule because time is all you got and you need to protect it like your life depends on it. In this episode of The Scratch Golfer's Mindset Podcast, I sit down with my mentor, world-renowned mindset and performance coach, Elliot Roe. Together, we engage in a power discussion to unpack what truly separates high performers from the rest—how to release subconscious resistance, redefine balance, and access peak states on demand. Elliot reveals why detachment from results is a prerequisite for sustained success, how subconscious childhood patterns quietly sabotage progress, and the science behind hypnosis as a tool for lasting transformation. He also dives into the relationship between identity, fear, and indecision—and how understanding these elements can elevate your performance on the course, in business, and in life. In this episode, you'll learn: How to balance ambition and detachment to perform your best under pressure. Why "invisible resistance" keeps you stuck—and how to finally remove it. The neuroscience of hypnosis and how it reprograms limiting beliefs. How identity and subconscious stories shape performance and self-worth. A simple exercise to reveal the habits separating you from elite performers. Why fear of success and fear of failure are two sides of the same coin. How presence—not anger or intensity—fuels true peak performance. Whether you're chasing your next big win, breaking 80, or scaling your company, this conversation offers tactical frameworks and mindset shifts to help you remove the invisible brakes and unlock your true potential. Get your pencils ready and start listening. P.P.S. Curious to learn more about the results my clients are experiencing and what they say about working with me? Read more here. More About Elliot Roe Elliot Roe is a leading expert in Mindset Optimization for High Performers and is the world's #1 Mindset Coach for poker players. Instagram: @thegolfhypnotherapist Twitter: @parsoverbogeys Key Takeaways: Detachment drives performance: Balance isn't "soft"—it reduces emotional over-attachment to outcomes so you can execute under pressure. Build a non-variance win: Add a weekly pursuit (gym, BJJ, etc.) with incremental progress so your self-worth isn't hostage to poker/golf/markets. Calendar = truth: Audit your week. If sleep, family, training, and mindset work aren't scheduled, your goals are fantasy. Clear the landmines first: Use hypnosis/subconscious work to neutralize old emotional triggers so you're not "driving with the brakes on." Identity follows behavior: List what the best in your field do, mark what you're avoiding, and face those reps—belief grows after action. Indecision is ego-protection: Not deciding preserves the story "I'd win if I tried." Decide, act, and let data reshape the story. Presence beats anger: Elite performance (golf, trading, UFC, business) comes from calm focus and recovery skills—not rage or intensity. Key Quotes: "If you know what to do and can't bring yourself to do it, you don't need a strategy coach—you need a mindset coach." "Balance isn't a weakness. It's a performance enhancer." "You can't separate who you are off the course from who shows up on the course." "Indecision is ego protection—it lets you believe you'd succeed if you tried." "Fear of failure and fear of success both whisper the same lie: I'm not enough." "Our work as coaches is to file down the edges of the cube until it rolls smoothly—until you're in flow." "You are not your issues. They're learned patterns—and they can be unlearned." On this episode of The Business of Watches Podcast we drop in on Niels Eggerding, the CEO of Frederique Constant (and sister marque Alpina), at the brand's headquarters in Plan-les-Ouates, Switzerland near Geneva. Eggerding has been in the corner office since 2018 and has steered FC through a series of challenges and triumphs during his time leading the company. The Dutchman has brought more high horology and cool collaborations to the value and volume-driven brand, including perpetual calendars and tourbillons as well as more precious-metal cases. But it's a delicate balance for Frederique Constant as value-priced watches still account for more than 90% of its production volumes. Amid rising input costs and a strong Swiss franc, not to mention the challenge of U.S. tariffs, Eggerding's biggest challenge is maintaining FC's value proposition while burnishing its reputation as a serious watchmaker able to produce high-end timepieces. At the same time, he has to keep delivering sales and profit for the brand's owner, Citizen of Japan.
