Today I had the honor of talking to Greg, a prior firefighter from the State of Washington. We discuss a traumatic event that happened to him and the aftermath it caused on him mentally. Greg is now trying to start his own outreach program to help First Responders. I'm thankful for him to share his story and for his friendship.
Today I had Ashley come on and tell her incredibly powerful story. She has taken it upon herself and saw a need for things to change with Mental Health in the First Responder Community. She has drafted a bill, Senate Bill 484, in the State of Georgia to have workmans comp cover PTSD amongst First Responders.https://www.legis.ga.gov/legislation/61950Please reach out to everyone you know in GA and get them to listen to this and to pass this bill.
