It's Wednesday, August 19th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark, Timothy Reed, and Adam McManus 40 European hate crimes against Christians Christians in Europe faced dozens of hate crimes in July. The Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe recorded 40 cases last month. Vandalism was the most common incident. In one case, authorities arrested an Islamic-State sympathizer who was planning an arson attack on a church in Hamm, Germany. The highest number of recorded incidents occurred in Germany, followed by France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Ebola virus has killed 2,300 people in Congo This year's Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is now the deadliest in the country's history. Over 2,300 people have died as of Sunday. And cases have reached about 5,000. Christian aid groups like Samaritan's Purse are on the ground in Congo. Franklin Graham, president of the Christian relief group, said, “Samaritan's Purse has been on the frontlines of fighting Ebola for more than a decade, and we aren't going to stop now. We are going to do everything we can to help save lives. We want people to know that God loves them, and they are not alone.” You can donate to Samaritan's Purse relief effort in Congo through a link in our transcript today at TheWorldview.com. Trump gives $2 billion to Christian non-profits for disaster relief Here in the United States, the Trump administration announced nearly $2 billion in health and humanitarian assistance to faith-based organizations this month. This includes over $500 million in disaster response funding for Samaritan's Purse and a consortium jointly led by World Vision and Compassion International. The U.S. Department of State noted, “This historic announcement is the largest allocation of global health foreign assistance to faith-based organizations in over 20 years.” Conservative kicked out of school board meeting over filthy books Texas conservative Bonnie Wallace is suing the Houston Independent School District for removing her from a school board meeting. Wallace, who is a member of Protecting Texas Children, had sought to shine light on the immoral and inappropriate materials children are subjected to in schools. When she stepped up to the podium at first, she said this which was captured on video. WALLACE: “Before you purchase new books, you need to get rid of the 500 filthy books that you have. If there's children in the audience, they need to leave.” BOARD MEMBER: “Ma'am, Point of Order. This is a public hearing.” WALLACE: “I understand that.” BOARD MEMBER: “You will not be allowed to read things that are not appropriate.” WALLACE: “Oh, not appropriate? Then, why are they in your schools?” After she cited the first vulgar reference from a children's book in the school library, the board member said this. BOARD MEMBER: ”Absolutely not! Ma'am, you are now out of order. This is your first warning. One more word, and you will be removed.” After Bonnie Wallace read a second vulgar passage from the book in the children's library, the school board member asked for a police officer to remove her from the meeting. BOARD MEMBER: “Officer, please remove this woman from the podium.” WALLACE: “If you don't like it, remove it so the children don't have access to it!” BOARD MEMBER: “Thank you very much.” Grant Stinchfield, a conservative talk show host on Real America's Voice, was understandably outraged. STINCHFIELD: “That woman you see there, being walked out, simply read one of the books in the school library. Now, if it's not appropriate for a school board meeting, how is it appropriate for our children?” In her lawsuit, Wallace alleged, “This was textbook viewpoint discrimination: Such conduct is ‘an egregious form' of content regulation that the First Amendment almost never tolerates.” Isaiah 5:20-21 says, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness. … Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” Planned Parenthood closes Albuquerque, New Mexico abortion mill Planned Parenthood shut down its Northeast Heights abortion facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico last month. It's the latest closure as the abortion giant consolidates locations in the state. Bud Shaver, executive director of Abortion Free New Mexico, told LifeNews, “Despite New Mexico leaders pouring taxpayer money into abortion and using government policy to prop up the industry, abortion facilities are still consolidating and closing.” Vaccination rate for kindergartners dropped slightly Vaccination rates for kindergartners dropped slightly during the 2025-2026 school year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports the rate dropped by one percent overall. Exemptions from one or more vaccines rose to 4.2 percent, up from 3.6 percent the previous year. Christian men, mainline Protestants, and Catholics dissatisfied with church And finally, the American Bible Society released the latest chapter of its State of the Bible: USA 2026 report. The survey found some population groups struggled with church attendance compared to others. These include Christian men, young adult Christians, mainline Protestants, and Roman Catholics. Gen Z men reported the lowest satisfaction with the churches they attend. Overall, weekly and monthly church attendance remain unchanged from two years ago. The survey did note an uptick in people attending church about twice a year. That amounts to about eight million more Americans attending a church service in 2025 compared to two years earlier. Psalm 84:2 and 10 says, “My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. … For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, August 19th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Meet Greg, the adviser who built a career on saying what 1,000+ founders didn't want to hear. Protect your family with life insurance from Ethos. Get up to $3 million in coverage in as little as 10 minutes at https://ethos.com/founded. Application times may vary. Rates may vary. The opener to this episode tells you two things about Greg McCallum: he's funnier than most business advisers, and he's more honest about the cost of the founder life than almost anyone we've had on the show. 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS 1. Ask strangers, not friends. The most common founder mistake is failing to ask prospective customers whether the idea is good. Do it early and you're not just validating, you're building a pipeline, learning the language that sells, and writing your first sales playbook for free. 2. Sales is listening, not pitching. Professional sales hires get a three- to six-month ramp before anyone expects a deal, so give yourself the same grace. Never ask for the sale. Understand the need, demonstrate the solution, and let them ask you. 3. Honesty is the strategy. With customers, with investors, and hardest of all with yourself. Audit the skills you actually lack before you buy the domain or design the logo. Self-awareness is cheaper than failure. Greg got kicked out of school at 15. By 16, he was running a restaurant floor. By 18, he'd quietly consulted for almost every bar and restaurant in Oxford. By his mid-twenties, banks were asking him into the boardroom. Then he deliberately took a soul-destroying telemarketing job for a year, because nobody would take his sales advice seriously until he'd done the hard yards himself. That decision led to sales leadership at Booksy (now unicorn status), C-suite roles across startups, and a mentoring practice that has helped over 1,000 founders worldwide, under a name he's turned into a brand: The No Bullshit Adviser. In this episode, Greg gets honest about the mistake almost every founder makes, why working in sales won't teach you founder sales, the AI industry's dirty data secret his new startup Peer is built to solve, and the part nobody talks about: the anxiety, the dark years, and the alliances entrepreneurship never lets you make. Because when it all goes wrong, the question that matters is who you actually call. Please note: this episode contains strong language throughout. Greg is called the No Bullshit Adviser for a reason. WHAT WE COVER - Kicked out of school, child of immigrant entrepreneurs, and managing hospitality floors at 16 - Accidentally becoming Oxford's teenage restaurant consultant - A year of telemarketing to earn the right to give sales advice - Booksy, C-suite roles, and 1,000+ founders mentored - The one bad Trustpilot review that's secretly a five-star review - Why psychometric tests are (mostly) bullshit, and skills audits beat personality labels - Founders Unplugged: the podcast born from client calls that ran three hours over - Peer and the dirty secret of AI: the data ceiling nobody talks about - "Stop preaching work-life balance": Greg's unfiltered take - Anxiety, depression, CBT, and becoming your own therapist - The real sacrifice: friendship, founder loneliness, and why your support network is a survival mechanism - The SaaS bubble, the bootstrapping comeback, and his one piece of advice: two words

Jake Gets Kicked Out of the DMV full 830 Wed, 05 Aug 2026 15:24:00 +0000 URogIbQO3C3PuLis7elmW6BP15KtCf3K society & culture Klein/Ally Show: The Podcast society & culture Jake Gets Kicked Out of the DMV Klein.Ally.Show on KROQ is more than just a "dynamic, irreverent morning radio show that mixes humor, pop culture, and unpredictable conversation with a heavy dose of realness." (but thanks for that quote anyway). Hosted by Klein, Ally, and a cast of weirdos (both on the team and from their audience), the show is known for its raw, offbeat style, offering a mix of sarcastic banter, candid interviews, and an unfiltered take on everything from culture to the chaos of everyday life. Local competitive eater Raina Huang aka @rainaiscrazy joined us in-studio today to take on a food challenge from Fat Sal's. She attempted to eat a french dip faster than any of us, and let's just say you have to see it to believe it. Check out today's YouTube livestream to see the video, or check it out on IG @kleinallyshow. We also tried to take on Fat Sal's famous Big Fat Fatty challenge, a massive 13 pound sandwich loaded with cheesesteak, pastrami, five cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, bacon, mozzarella sticks, fried eggs, onion rings, jalapeno poppers, fries, chili, marinara, and signature fat sauce. Could the entire morning show take it down? The answer is no. Jake went to the DMV yesterday to fulfill his punishment for failing the driving test, and because he went on his birthday he turned it into a party, complete with a birthday hat, balloons, a pizza and a full cooler of beer. How long did he make it before security approached? We went into the whole saga & there's a lot of debate on whether or not Jake needs to repeat the punishment. We also tried to determine who the laziest person on the show is during Most/Least (the answer is Klein) and Klein detailed his experience watching The Odyssey in IMAX, a movie he claims was cockblocked by fog.
WNBA stars and head coaches have been advocating...for biological men to be allowed in women's sports. Over the last few weeks...this conversation has escalated in the WNBA after Sophie Cunningham resisted men in women's sports. Since Cathy Engelbert refused to shutdown the issue...the WNBA is now facing a serious problem. We discuss the rise of Julie Tetart...and explain why Julie Tetart is a real problem for the WNBA. We discuss the possibility of Julie Tetart being allowed to play in the WNBA...and explain why the WNBA would cease to exist within two years. Welcome to the weekly MormonNewsRoundup where Al & Dives ruminate on the great and spacious Beehive!
For several years, I performed as a member of the Orchestra at Temple Square, accompanying what was then known as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on *Music and the Spoken Word*.From long Sunday mornings and rehearsals in the Tabernacle to touring, auditions, and eventually leaving the orchestra, this is my honest story of what it was really like behind the scenes. This isn't an exposé. It's a personal memoir about music, faith, and one of the most memorable chapters of my life.Along the way, I discuss:* What rehearsals were really like* The musicians behind the performances* Touring with the orchestra* My changing beliefs while still performing* The emotional power of music* How my time with the orchestra unexpectedly came to an endAlthough I no longer believe in the truth claims of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I remain deeply grateful for the opportunity to make music alongside so many exceptional musicians. Some experiences transcend belief, and beautiful music is one of them.If you enjoy thoughtful conversations about Mormonism, music, faith transitions, and honest personal stories, consider subscribing for more episodes.**#Mormon #ExMormon #TabernacleChoir #TempleSquare #MusicAndTheSpokenWord #LDS #FaithJourney #ClassicalMusic #MormonStories #MormonNewsRoundup**Please consider making a donation by joining our Patreon https://www.patreon.com/MormonNewsRoundup Email: kolob@mormonnewsroundup.org Website: https://mormonnewsroundup.org/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mormonnewsroundup Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mormon_news_roundup/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093511869924 X: https://twitter.com/NewsMormon New episodes LIVE every Sunday and Monday nights at 9:30PM ESTPlease like and subscribe and hit the notifications bell. The debate gets surprisingly passionate, with theories, conspiracy-level outrage, and enough Bread Co. nostalgia to butter an entire bakery. Then things somehow get even stranger. There's a real pet kangaroo named Rufus hopping around Missouri after escaping from his enclosure, launching one of the funniest conversations we've ever had about exotic pets, Australian wildlife, boxing kangaroos, and why absolutely nobody expects to look out their kitchen window and see a four-foot marsupial staring back at them.As if that wasn't enough, the crew gets excited about rumors that St. Louis could someday land an NBA franchise, debates whether the Portland Trail Blazers could become the St. Louis Trail Blazers, imagines new arenas, and immediately starts spending money that doesn't exist.Of course, because this is The Rizzuto Show, we also somehow end up talking about armadillos, leprosy, Anthony Bourdain conspiracy theories, earthquake anxiety, weird Missouri wildlife, celebrity gossip, local news, and enough random detours to make your GPS quit.Expect sarcastic takes, ridiculous hypotheticals, hilarious fails, pop culture commentary, local St. Louis chaos, and the kind of conversations that only happen when six people completely refuse to stay on topic.Whether you're here for funny news, celebrity nonsense, Missouri weirdness, or just need something to laugh at during your commute, this episode delivers exactly the kind of beautiful train wreck you've come to expect. Thanks for making us part of your day. Keep sharing the show, keep telling your friends, and remember: if you see a kangaroo in Missouri...maybe it's actually a kangaroo. One innocent bakery van. One suspicious slogan. One studio full of adults who absolutely refused to let it go.What should have been a simple conversation about Nothing Bundt Cakes rapidly devolves into one of those classic Rizz Show debates where nobody can agree if a marketing slogan is clever, completely innocent, or unintentionally one of the funniest things ever printed on a delivery van. From there...because this is The Rizzuto Show...the conversation somehow shifts into Halloween party planning, costumes nobody should wear, Ballpark Village's Freak Show bash, and why Halloween somehow starts before August even arrives. The crew also dives into major local news as Hollywood River Studios announces plans that could transform the Metro East into a legitimate production hub. Massive sound stages, esports arenas, film tax credits, and the possibility of movies being made just across the river all have the crew imagining what St. Louis could become.Technology also gets roasted when Apple unveils its new hardware leasing program. Is leasing your iPhone actually smart? Is owning anything becoming a thing of the past? The gang debates whether renting phones is the future or just another monthly bill nobody asked for. Then it's time for a packed Crap on Celebrities featuring entertainment headlines involving Jared Leto allegations, Usher's awkward concert moment, Katy Perry's inflatable crowd-surfing fail, new music from Tony Iommi, Peter Gabriel's latest full moon release, Marvel movie rankings, celebrity birthdays, and plenty of sarcastic commentary that somehow makes even serious stories feel like hanging out with your funniest friends.Along the way you'll also hear debates about when kids should start paying their own phone bills, why Terry Crews seems like the nicest guy alive, Bob Hope trivia nobody expected, and enough random tangents to make your morning commute disappear. Some shows ease into the day. We immediately start arguing over Missouri's official state animal, accidentally insult half the Midwest, and somehow end up talking about rabid beavers terrorizing New York. Pretty standard Tuesday around here. The gang discovers that Missouri's official state animal isn't nearly as obvious as anyone thought, learns way more about mule breeding than anyone requested, debates whether a charging beaver should be kicked like "nature's football," and wonders why every state seems to have picked the weirdest possible mascot. Then it's time for one of the greatest disasters in recent memory: Read My Lips. Words like butt crack, flamethrower, cinnamon, armadillo, bidet, mothballs, Sasquatch, cornhole, and fruitcake somehow become Big Rig, Philadelphia, Hope Solo, Powder Keg, and whatever "Quantana Roo" is supposed to be. Nobody can read lips, everyone is somehow overconfident anyway, and the callers suffer right along with us.King Scott proves that facial hair is apparently the ultimate lip-reading defense system. Moon keeps inventing new techniques. Rafe becomes increasingly concerned about everyone's strategy. Lern somehow turns perfectly normal words into complete mysteries. Riz somehow nails "cornhole" while missing words he literally owns.Along the way we also dive into:• Missouri mule history• Rabid beaver attacks• Weird state facts• Listener games• Complete communication breakdowns• More accidental nonsense than should legally fit into one morning showIf you enjoy ridiculous conversations that somehow become educational, questionable wildlife discussions, hilarious games, and friends relentlessly roasting each other, you've found your people.New episodes of our daily comedy podcast drop every weekday with celebrity news, weird stories, listener games, and enough sarcasm to make your coworkers wonder why you're laughing at your desk.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Shots fired into Creve Coeur home, police investigatingCould the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers move to St. Louis?A kangaroo on the looseA 4,000-year-old disease is on the rise in this state thanks to armadillosJapan earthquake: At least 13 dead, death toll expected to riseApple Upgrade: Here's the monthly subscription cost for every productWhat happened to leaving the groom at the altar like an adult? The One Big Beautiful Bill last year made some reforms to food stamps. It's now been a year, and the Washington Post searched for some sob stories about how Trump is cruel and awful. But what does the Bible say about food stamps?
NO ADS on PATREON: www.patreon.com/dopeypodcast This week on Dopey! Dave opens in a reflective mood before vacation, trying to practice gratitude while also admitting how ridiculous and uncomfortable it feels. He gives thanks to the Dopey team, Dopey Nation, the people who helped with the film festival, and talks about being sober, scrambling to get shows done, House of the Dragon, and crying on the Long Island Railroad while watching the Knicks finals mini movie. Then Dave gets into revenge, resentment, recovery, redemption, and the dangerous romance of “getting back.” He plays a wild voicemail from a Scottish Dopey listener coming off opiates, who tells a story about buying a house, snorting heroin before move-in day, doing coke, champagne, and Ritalin while moving furniture, crashing a van, watching his friend get arrested, and then finishing the move on a days-long stimulant binge. Then it's a classic Dopey replay with Michael Todd, former bassist of Coheed and Cambria. Michael tells the story of going from prescription painkillers on tour to OxyContin, heroin, shooting coke and dope, leaving the band, rejoining clean, relapsing, smuggling heroin across the country in Gobstopper boxes, robbing a pharmacy in Massachusetts, getting arrested, losing the band for good, dealing with cancer, shame, probation, relapse, Suboxone, and surviving a suicide attempt. It's one of the rawest Dopey conversations ever: rock stardom, addiction, shame, survival, recovery, and Dave's newly coined phrase — radical gratitude. PLUS MORE!!!! MORE! MORE!
