On 8/24/24 there is a festival coming to San Marcos, TX called ROCKFEST 777. The lineup for this one is epic!! For that reason I have decided to interview all the bands in a series before the event! So, as we all know there was a horrible tragedy that occurred at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, TX and it is a day that will live in our memories forever. During the aftermath of this event a young musician wrote a very emotional tribute for the families of the victims. His goal was to express his love and sorrow and support to them all with this song. I wanted to talk to him and get the story behind this awesome song. Plus, I also wanted to learn more about him. Things are pretty bad in our country right? I mean gas prices are high, food is high, cost of living is high, maybe you're high because everything is so high! I grew up in Uvalde, TX and it has always had a special place in my heart. Ever since this tragedy happened my humble town has been in the news and in the world's eyes. So, let's tell the story of this once small and private town. The goal is to tell the story of a town with strength, courage, and determination and show the world that it will get through this horrible tragedy. Uvalde may be known as the town where the Robb Elementary tragedy happened for now, but soon it will be known for it's strength, and it's love, and most of all its people.  Louella Lara grew up in Uvalde and this is home for her. The Uvalde tragedy hit the entire country very hard! However, the worst effected by this senseless tragedy are the families. In this first episode of the I.M.O. Podcast, I get to talk to the father of one of the victims, Uziyah "Uzi" Garcia. Brett shares his heartbreaking story of gaining a wonderful son to only lose him a short time later. He also shares how he has been dealing with adjusting to life without little Uzi. How is he doing it? He is fighting and making sure Uzi's legacy lives on. This story will not just break your heart, but hopefully it will inspire you to want to do something to make a change.
