TGI NOW with Eddie, Rondell & John

What if the Bible you've been reading was deliberately edited to promote obedience to earthly kings? In this eye-opening episode, we dive into the dramatic differences between the widely used King James Bible and the ancient Ethiopian Orthodox Bible — a canon that preserved 88 books, including controversial texts like 1 Enoch and Jubilees. Whether you're a believer, a skeptic, or just curious about hidden religious history, this episode challenges everything you thought you knew about “the Good Book.” Is the Ethiopian Bible closer to the original scriptures? Or is it filled with dangerous additions? Tune in and decide for yourself.

Is the Bible really good—or have we misunderstood it? Many people walk away from Christianity after reading the Bible for themselves. But what if the issue isn't the Bible… it's how we've been taught to read it? In this episode of Truth Changes Everything, we sit down with John Marriott and Shawn Wicks, co-authors of Is It Really the Good Book?, to tackle one of the most important—and challenging—questions facing faith today: Is the Bible actually good? Together, we explore why doubt often begins with faulty assumptions about Scripture, how to approach difficult passages without losing faith, and why understanding the Bible in its proper context changes everything. If you've ever wrestled with questions about the Bible—or know someone who has—this conversation is for you.

What if family devotions didn't have to be perfect to be effective? Adam and Cassie sit down with Carl Laferton to talk about what family Bible time really looks like in a normal home—and why the ordinary, imperfect moments are often where God is doing the most. If you've ever thought: “We should be doing family devotions…” “We tried, but it didn't go well…” “I don't feel equipped to lead my kids spiritually…” This episode is for you. Carl offers a refreshing, honest take:Family devotions are necessary—but they're not everything. They're one part of a much bigger picture: a home where the gospel shows up in everyday life. “Family Bible time is not sufficient for discipleship… but it is a necessary foundation.” Let this Mother's Day be a reminder that she deserves care, too. Good Books: Maria Franzoni, Speakers' Advocate & Coach and Author of 'The Bookability Formula', on How The Top 1% of Speakers Get Booked

Send us Fan MailOnly a tiny proportion of Professional Speakers are able to land the best stages again-and-again-and-again - and it is not always the celebrities. I'm joined by Maria Franzoni, Speakers' Advocate, Speaker Coach and former Speaker Bureau Owner, to dig into what actually drives paid Speaking engagements, repeat bookings, and higher Keynote Speaker fees. If you've ever wondered why brilliant talks still struggle to sell, Maria brings the Agent's-eye view that cuts through noise and gives you practical clarity. We start with the story behind the strategist: growing up British Italian, learning to navigate culture and language, and inheriting a serious work ethic from parents who built stability through sheer persistence. That personal foundation matters, because the stage is never only about slides and scripts. We also talk openly about gender assumptions, what it means to choose a childfree life, and how those experiences shape confidence, boundaries, and message. Then we get into the heart of it: Maria's "Bookability Formula" and what the top 1% of bookable Speakers do. We break down the four pillars the market rewards most: being relevant to a paying market, being known for one clear thing, being memorable to audiences and bookers, and being easy to find and easy to work with. We also explore the multiplier of value (ROI, outcomes, change) and the role of ego, which can help you step on stage but can also undermine trust if it grows too big. If you want a sharper speaker positioning, a more commercial topic, and a clearer route to getting booked more often, this conversation gives you a grounded framework to act on. Subscribe, share this with a speaker friend, and leave us a review wherever you get your podcasts.Tune in next week for more stories of 'Distinction & Genius' from The Good Listening To Show 'Clearing'.  If you would like to be my Guest too then you can find out HOW via the different 'series strands' at 'The Good Listening To Show' website.Show Website: https://www.thegoodlisteningtoshow.comYou can email  me about the Show: chris@secondcurve.ukTwitter thatchrisgrimesLinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/chris-grimes-actor-broadcaster-facilitator-coach/FaceBook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/842056403204860Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE & REVIEW wherever you get your Podcasts :)Thanks for listening!

Hacking The Afterlife podcast

I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to do a podcast this week (we did, it's posted) - so I put together a few (four) different interviews where we "spoke to Jesus." Now, for those who find that problematic, in the book HACKING THE AFTERLIFE there is a transcript of my first conversation with Jennifer Shaffer - my first interview with her.  And three people came forward that day - AMELIA EARHART (transcripts are in the book SHE WAS NEVER LOST; THE AMELIA EARHART SAGA) who confirmed the three decades of research I'd already done about her disappearance - then BILL PAXTON my old pal who confirmed details that only he could know (and became the basis for the doc TALKING TO BILL PAXTON on amazon prime or Gaia) and finally, an appearance by the alpha and omega. I had filmed some people seeing him before (as reported in the film and book FLIPSIDE; MY JOURNEY INTO THE AFTERLIFE) and since then, Jesus has shown up so many times in so many interviews, so many hypnotherapy sessions, guided meditations and mediumship conversations (with different mediums) - that the former head of Paramount studios asked me to share those interview in book form. THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD AS TOLD BY JESUS AND THOSE WHO KNEW HIM. If one takes a look at that book they'll see that this is not a religious belief, religious theory, or opinion that Jesus is available. He shows up often in the research, and repeatedly says things contrary to the Bible. He says "All religions point to the same garden." He says "The bible is metaphor. If the quote doesn't include unconditional love, then I didn't say it." He says "You don't have to follow me but let me walk beside you as we walk each other home." He tells an alternate version of his life - and when asked why has said more than once "It's not alternate if it's true." I can't see or hear him. (Jennifer can or the mediums can or the people doing a guided meditation can, or the 15% of NDE's who see him can).  The people I'm talking to can - and like Jennifer in this conversation - which occurred over a number of years, I think going back six years based on the equipment being used.   But this is an excerpt of four conversations with Jesus.   I watched an interview with him and the medium Rebecca Fantl yesterday - and he says the same things there as well, says the same things with Kimberly Babcock (which is on this page) says the same things to Jamie Butler (two interviews on this podcast with Jesus via Jamie.) I post this in honor of him, not to be controversial.  He still exists. And he says repeatedly, if you have an open heart he can speak to, communicate, answer questions for anyone. That's not my opinion, not a theory - not a belief. In 20 years of filming people seeing him, he says the same things over and over and over. Not that one should follow the Good Book - or claim that by following him they're better than others - or that he died on the cross for their sins.  That, according to him and the friends that knew him - happened differently - no less powerful because it turns out he's the only person on the planet who survived that ordeal. But let him be heard in his own words. Happy Easter. He is Risen - because he never left. The Second Coming is the realization that he never left  and that all of our loved ones still exist - and are accessible, available and can help us out of whatever conflicts or problems we put ourselves into. Jesus... or Yeshua, or Esiah (as his friends report they knew him as Essie, or the way he's known in the region as Issa and in the Qur'an as Issa) in his own words. Hope this helps someone!

Project Hail Mary, Ryan Gosling’s new space blockbuster, reached number one at the Box Office last weekend. It’s the second successful book-to-screen adaptation for author Andy Weir, best known for his novel The Martian which also got a movie adaptation in 2015 starring Matt Damon. Weir helped write the screenplays for both films, which could be part of their positive reception. But, turning a book into a well-received film is no small feat, even if you have the author at the helm. Obviously, a two hour movie cannot fit everything included in a 500 plus page book. A while back, LAist host Austin Cross spoke with FilmWeek critic Tim Cogshell on AirTalk about what makes a good book-to-film adaptation. This week on the Remarkable Retail podcast, Michael LeBlanc and Steve Dennis unpack the retail news shaping the global economy—from the Iran war's impact on oil, freight and food prices to Kohl's disappointing earnings, Dick's Sporting Goods' continued growth, and another wave of store closings at Saks Global. The episode opens with the week's major macro headlines. The ongoing Iran war is pushing oil prices higher and raising concerns about fuel, transportation and food inflation. The hosts explore how disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz could impact shipping routes, air freight and fertilizer supply—factors that may squeeze consumer spending in the months ahead. On earnings: Kohl's continues to struggle with declining comparable sales and a lack of clear differentiation in the mid-market department store segment. Dick's Sporting Goods delivered stronger results, with experiential concepts like House of Sport driving growth—even as its newly acquired Foot Locker business faces headwinds. Meanwhile, Saks Global's restructuring rolls on with additional closures across both Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus locations. The centrepiece is an in-depth conversation with James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble and Waterstones. Daunt shares the unconventional philosophy behind Barnes & Noble's turnaround: rather than relying on centralized merchandising and publisher-driven promotions, he empowered individual store teams to curate their own assortments and engage directly with local communities. The strategy—anchored by investments in store infrastructure, technology, distribution and higher bookseller wages—has the company opening roughly 60 new stores a year while continuing to modernize older locations. The episode closes with the hosts' "Remarkable Stories of the Week": the rise of value brand Quince, Nestlé's sale of Blue Bottle Coffee, and a discussion of tariffs, supply chains and New York's proposed minimum wage increase. Questions about good books on Christian apologetics, philosophy, and theology with more in-depth information and ideas, and resources to help an intellectually-inclined person with spiritual formation and developing the non-cerebral side of living a Christian life.   As a high school student, I have read many baseline books on Christian apologetics, theology, and philosophy, so could you recommend good books with more in-depth information and ideas? As someone with a passion for intellectual pursuits such as apologetics, theology, and philosophy, what resources might be helpful for spiritual formation and developing the non-cerebral side of living a Christian life?

We can all be avid readers. No matter how technology advances, we need to be a people of books! If you feel like you are not a good reader, as though good books are over your head - don't worry, you can learn to be a good reader! Sarah shares her story, which should give us all encouragement and confidence that we, too, can become readers of great books. What should we do if we start reading a book that's garbage? Are audiobooks OK? Which books should we read with our kids? Sarah and E.J. also talk about the amount of reading. Especially as busy moms and dads, we might feel like we don't have time to read. But we do! 10 minutes here, 10 minutes there. Look at your screen time, you've got the time in there. Books shape our character and our worldview. We also need to be reading great books with our kids to help share theirs. While doing so, we create strong and special bonds with our children, we grow and we laugh with them, and - with the right books and, most notably, the Good Book - we understand God and His ways more fully along with our spouses and children. Book-lovers will certainly enjoy this episode and we hope it will motivate and encourage everyone who listens to be readers of great books! LINKS:Colson Center website: https://colsoncenter.org/Strong Women - Sarah Stonestreet update: https://colsoncenter.org/strong-women/looking-back-and-looking-forward-with-sarah-stonestreetTruth Rising Documentary: https://www.truthrising.com/Kristin Lavransdatter: https://a.co/d/8cdwDbLWingfeather Saga: https://a.co/d/iNanQsU (Currently at high discount - 12/8)Narnia - A Horse & His Boy included: https://a.co/d/1ObDWf9 (currently on sale)Trailblazers Series: https://a.co/d/b0Y39ZP (currently on sale)Email interview & speaking Inquiries for E.J. to ej.freedomfamilies@gmail.com
