Ackley, the 1991 Ghostbusters ruling that made a Nyack house legally haunted, and Gerald Brittle's $900 million suit daring Warner Bros. to prove the events behind The Conjuring actually happened.

The girls aren't the only ones with terrifying tales. Everyone's got something to say on this True Listener Tales edition #43, as the listeners say, “Hey, here's the most traumatic thing that ever happened to me”. This round starts with a fake dead mom prank. Caveat: that's not a prank, that's psychological warfare. Alexa is a sci-fi / thriller short story by Paul Trammell, narrated by the author. The idea was inspired by a comment made by Tina Erwin in an earlier episode. I was asking her why spirits frequented Ouija boards and tarot cards. The short answer was "tradition," but she went on to say that it's entirely possible that technology could offer them a new and more effective portal. Why not an Alexa, I thought, and the story was born.
