Happy Friday, yo! Planning to have a nice, relaxing weekend before getting pummeled at Rock Fest next week! Thankfully, it looks like it's going to be very comfortable in Cadott for most of the time we're there. In sports, the Brewers start a 3-game series against the Nationals tonight, Giannis was on a livestream in Greece recently where he talked a bit about his future plans in the NBA, running back Najee Harris got injured by some fireworks over the 4th of July, the roster for the Home-Run Derby at the MLB All-Star game is set, and there won't be an expansion this coming year for March Madness. We let you know what's on the tube this weekend and what's new in theaters…and we talked about the disrespect that Rick Springfield suffered on the Today Show yesterday. Doc joined us to talk racing thanks to County Materials in Holmen, and we checked out the celebration of Moo Deng's first birthday! Can you imagine the rest of the trip after this guy forgot his wife at a gas station? A recent poll discovered that a lot of us are self-conscious about our feet. Elsewhere in sports, Red Bull fires Christian Horner after 20 years, Randy Couture suffered major injuries in racing crash, donations from sports teams are flooding in to help with the recovery efforts & eventual clean-up in Texas, and cycling legend Greg LeMond recently received the Congressional Gold Medal. The response was so positive, and they enjoyed it so much, they decided to continue booking shows and writing songs. They recorded and released a homemade CD titled Rise Up; which sold over 1,000 copies at local shows. Shortly after, friend and local musician, Sawyer Rikard, joined the band on bass guitar in 2015, bringing their stage sound and performance to another level. In March of 2016, they released a follow-up EP, All Fall Down, which debuted #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. They soon began touring and being invited to festivals such as Rocklahoma, SXSW, Rockfest, Dirtfest, Loud in Lima, etc.In 2018, they joined forces with Legend Recordings, and released another EP, Ascension, which became their biggest release yet with singles “Back to Life” and “Killer Queen” landing on the radio. Shortly after, they added local powerhouse drummer (and childhood friend of Sawyer), Dakota Watson, to form the rhythm section Casandra, Paul, and Sawyer had always dreamed of. In 2019, they recorded standalone single “Love Will Win” with producer/videographer, Jake Jones, which gained even more radio play, and placed them on numerous national tours; supporting artists such as Tantric, Saliva, Yngwie Malmsteen, Dokken, and being added to the KISS Kruise and NAMM Show.The band continued to write, record, livestream, and perform wherever they could during the 2020 pandemic, and only continued to gain traction and fans from all over the world. Reaching out on a whim, they won over the attention of renowned producer/songwriter, Elvis Baskette, and shortly thereafter, entered the studio to record their first professionally made, full length album, Street Magic, in 2021. This release proved to be a monumental success, skyrocketing their audience with over 5 million views and streams across all platforms. Radio singles from this release alone include “For the Record”, “Despicable”, “Repeat Offender”, “Can't Quench the Fire”, and “Only Human”.Paralandra has since toured the country on multiple headlining runs, and is constantly supporting iconic bands such as Warrant, Lita Ford, Firehouse, Last in Line, and countless others with no end in sight. We had the pleasure of interviewing Sleep Theory over Zoom video!Breakout four-piece Sleep Theory — vocalist Cullen Moore, guitarist Daniel Pruitt, bassist Paolo Vergara, and drummer Ben Pruitt — have shared the video for "Fallout" from their Paper Hearts EP, out now via the Epitaph Records. Get the EP, which has been streamed over 33 million times.The video features intense performance footage colliding with equally intense apocalyptic imagery, both of which fit the urgency of the song. Amassing tens of millions of streams and earning acclaim from Revolver, Guitar World, Loudwire, and many more, the group fortify an unbreakable bond with listeners on their second full-length offering, THIS IS IT…THE END OF EVERYTHING [Spinefarm].Saul emerged out of the Midwest in 2017 and tirelessly bulldozed a path to the forefront of modern rock. Today is the 40th anniversary of the US Festival and what better guest to have on the show than Mike Levine of Triumph who played on this very day 40 years ago along with Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Scorpions and Van Halen. I was there and I will tell you this I will never forget it. I consider the US Festival the greatest Rock Fest every besides Woodstock. Triumph has just released this concert on Vinyl and I can't recommend it enough.
