WiFi alert! Our final eight-hour episode is here! Scott wraps up his solo journey from the North Coast to Gulf Coast. WiFi alert! If you're surprised to see an eight-hour episode appear on your feed, we're just as surprised we could upload it. The good news is that Scott survived his 20-hour "North Coast to Gulf Coast" solo drive. The not-so-good news is that if you’ve been waiting to hear what 20 hours on the road sounds like, you'll have to wait just a little longer. We decided to switch up our New Orleans episodes so that you hear all about our experience in the Big Easy, then go back in time to hear how Scott got there. In this episode, we discuss our adventure in New Orleans, where we each did a bit of individual exploration and then spent one marathon of a day hitting up the food, shopping and sightseeing on our must-visit list. Check it out to hear all about the delicious, eclectic, and macabre sides of New Orleans we experienced, plus learn about a new-to-us tool that came in really handy for planning our trip and exploring the city. While we get back on track after recent travels, we decided to publish our first Subscriber Bonus Episode! We went to our first-ever RV show! As much as we love our current teardrop trailer, we know that one day we're going to need to upgrade. The recent Ohio RV Supershow was the perfect excuse to start scoping out the options. We learned a lot about one another’s personal preferences for RV life, hung out in a motorhome that had a kitchen larger than our house's kitchen, and Scott got one step closer to living his dream of meeting Yogi Bear. We saved 2018's longest trip for last! This episode was recorded over the Thanksgiving holiday when we took our teardrop trailer on its first out-of-state roadtrip. Because of some longer trips we plan on taking in 2019, we decided to tow our teardrop on a long route we were already familiar with — the drive to Amanda’s parents’ house in Virginia. Take a listen for some of our favorite places to eat and shop in the Northern Neck area of Virgina. Amanda also shares how her first time in the driver’s seat went. Find links to the destinations and resources we discuss at www.towfortheroad.com/blog.
We're back with what we've decided to call our “At Home with Tow for the Road” episodes! Recorded after visiting the Miller Nature Preserve in Avon, Ohio, we share our holiday gift ideas for camping, teardrop trailer and roadtrip enthusiasts. Listen in for our recommendations on stocking stuffers, last-minute gifts and more! Read more at www.towfortheroad.com/blog.
If autumn foliage and weather are your things (and they are ours), Hocking Hills, Ohio, is the perfect spot to get your fill of hiking trails, charming towns, gorgeous scenery and so much more fall fun. Over the past couple years, we stayed in one of the region's many cabins. This October, though, we hitched up our teardrop and hit the road for camping at Hocking Hills State Park. Listen to the episode to hear about our trip and find links to the destinations and resources we discuss at www.towfortheroad.com/blog.
We had so much fun recording and editing our first two episodes, we've decided to shift our podcast schedule from monthly to every other week! Between our “trip” episodes, we'll record from different places around Cleveland, discussing various roadtrip and teardrop camping-related topics. This episode is our first attempt at that. The topic of conversation: What we like to listen to when we're on the road. Learn more and find links to the destinations and resources we discuss at www.towfortheroad.com/blog.
Recorded as we waited for one of the final ferries off South Bass Island before a storm hit, this episode includes why Put-in-Bay, Ohio is always part of our summer travel plans and how we made the most of this camping trip despite Lake Erie's weather gods working against us. Learn more and find links to destinations and resources we discuss at www.towfortheroad.com/blog.
In this first episode, we discuss how we stumbled into teardrop camping, what we learned from our teardrop trailer’s maiden voyage to Flite Fest Ohio, and what you can expect from future episodes. Learn more and find links to destinations and resources we discuss at www.towfortheroad.com/blog.
