Dahlia Lithwick is joined by award-winning documentarian and lawyer Dawn Porter for a conversation about two projects shining a light on the law and how we can shape it: Porter's new Showtime documentary series Deadlocked: How America Shaped the Supreme Court, and the paperback release of Dahlia's book Lady Justice: Women, the Law, and the Battle to Save America. Together they trace the political shifts and cultural earthquakes from the Warren Court to the Burger, Rehnquist and now Roberts Court, and they discuss how the courts current crisis of legitimacy cannot be cured with a moratorium on criticism. In both Lady Justice and Deadlocked a truth surfaces: when it comes to the rule of law, there is no “plan b”, so the challenge to Dawn's audience, Dahlia's readers and Amicus listeners is the same: to use the law as a tool for progress and justice. We're also wishing Prince Harry a “Hazzy” 39th birthday, discussing Kate's new look (and beer pong skills), and celebrating Meghan's fashionable return. Processed foods have been around for decades. In recent years, thanks to research showing that a diet higher in plants is healthier, the plant-based food movement has gained a lot of traction. As Elizabeth Raymond shares, her mom Crissanne was well ahead of the trend as she started making her veggieburgers for family and friends back in the 70s and 80s.One of the key driving forces behind NoBull Burgers is using real food ingredients grown from the earth. We talk about the importance of knowing what is in the food you buy, whether at the grocery store or at a restaurant. While one meal won't likely kill you, it's the continual exposure to toxins, fillers, and chemicals in our foods that cause long term damage that shortens our lives. Elizabeth believes it is important to be a farm to table product and not a farm to lab to table product. To learn more check out www.nobullburger.com and follow them on Instagram and other social media @nobullburgerYou can visit all of our sponsors here. You can support my efforts to bring you episodes about health and wellness topics via Patreon.Follow me via All In Health and Wellness on Facebook or Instagram.Find my books on Amazon: No More Sugar Coating: Finding Your Happiness in a Crowded World and Confidence Through Health: Life the Healthy Lifestyle God DesignedMusic credit: Ryan The Son, hear more from Ryan The Son on Instagram, YouTube or SpotifyProduction credit: Social Media Cowboys
