What we have learned about Careers: It is easier to give career advice then to follow it for yourself. Don't put your career in someone else's hands. Create a plan, and make it clear what your goals are. Many jobs over your life; one career. Money isn't everything in your career. While it helps, doing something you have passion for can change everything. Work and life harmony means that sometimes your job will take away your personal time but at other times you are grabbing it back. It will never be in balance. The best thing you can ever invest in is yourself. Always be learning.
What we've learned about goals: - Life is a marathon, not a sprint. - In order to achieve your goals, start big then work your way backwards to what's achievable, no matter how small, today. A 10 year plan gets broken into yearly plans, then broken down to monthly goals, broken down into day by day what you need to be doing. - Track your goals! Use a journal or spreadsheet. Dave has an entire Excel workbook of goals for life, health, career, even video games. - As human beings, we need to feel daily progress towards something. Tracking your goals and making progress on them will do more than just change where you are in life. It will help you feel happier about life's journey. - Small progress, over large periods of time, add up to huge changes. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, and be better, no matter how small the change. Over time you will see huge improvements.
What we've learned about fitness: - Need to make it a lifestyle, be consistent. - Every 24 hours is your battleground. Don’t worry about tomorrow. - Start with small, reachable goals. Start now! - Access to Fitness information, use YouTube and Reddit. - Track Fitness goals and stats with mobile apps. - Increase your lifespan through diet, sleep and exercise. - Journey never ends. A lifetime of learning: cardio, general health, strength training, flexibility, and more. Learn about your body and where you can take it.
