“Chasing greatness is grieving the person you once were.” Tyriq Withers Ryan, Channing and Fred chop it up with Tyriq Withers, a rising actor making his mark in Hollywood, for an honest conversation about perseverance, processing grief, risk taking and how his journey is proof that purpose doesn't always follow a straight line and what's meant to be will always be. The conversation starts off with a fun story of Tyriq, a Jacksonville native, sharing how his childhood idol was a FAMILIAR guest speaker he had as a kid in elementary school... one guess? And you already know Chan and RC had a field day with the age jokes of Freddy T being that guy 20+ years ago! A die-hard Jaguars fan excited for the playoffs, he also opens up on the special meaning behind wearing a custom made "144" Shedeur Sanders jersey and how the bible verse he had imprinted on the sleeve changed his thought process. Yes, his love of sports starts long ago and before stepping in front of the camera, Tyriq's first love was football as he walked on to Florida State where he was part of the Seminole team (along with Dalvin Cook and Derwin James) that won an Orange Bowl in 2016. Ball was his life and taught him discipline, resilience, and what it takes to perform under pressure. That foundation helped fuel his transition into acting, where he's now making waves starring in the upcoming film Him, along with roles in other notable projects. Tyriq breaks down his journey into acting, the sacrifices it took to chase his passion, and the mental resilience required to survive an industry built on rejection and uncertainty. From navigating auditions and staying grounded to defining success on his own terms, he shares what it really means to pivot when the path isn't guaranteed. He talks about what it was like working with Donald Glover, shares who is on-screen inspiration is and the full circle experience of learning from Marlon Wayans, who he admired growing up and then became a big brother to him during the filming of Him. But Marlon wasn't just an on-screen mentor, he also helped Tyriq navigate life during one of the darkest and difficult times after he lost his older brother unexpectedly and was met with a new wave of grief and responsibility he didn't know existed. Emotional and honest, Tyriq shares how he dealt with it while still being able to pursue his dreams and balance the success with managing deep pain. Pivoting from sports to Hollywood to betting on himself in an industry built on rejection, this episode takes a deep dive on staying grounded while navigating new levels of visibility and expectation. From embracing discomfort to redefining success beyond the scoreboard, this conversation goes deeper than credits and highlights. It's a powerful discussion about identity, faith, work ethic, and trusting the process — on and off the field. Send us a textEver felt the tug to rewrite your story? We sit down with writer–director Kendra Louka to trace how a biochem track, long drives past Virginia farmland, and a move to a slower English village evolved into a filmmaking voice shaped by character, community, and curiosity. Kendra opens up about giving herself permission to be imperfect, how a Facebook call for a 10-minute play cracked the door to theater, and why the right collaborators can turn a scary idea into a finished short that resonates. We go deep on three films. Frizzy Friends uses a salon and a 48-hour challenge constraint to examine friendship drift and what still holds when life changes. No Grace brings a haunted listing to life with twisty psychology and an unreliable aura that keeps you guessing about memory and myth. Heart Strings drops dialogue entirely, letting a banjo, a dancer, and the ocean's rhythm speak to the courage of returning after being ignored. Across these stories, Kendra favors intimate stakes, clear arcs, and visuals that make room for the audience to interpret without feeling lost.We also zoom out to the creative ecosystem: festival circuits, the push–pull of streaming versus theaters, and the real cost of chasing reach while protecting the joy of making. We compare filmmaking's iterative notes with stand-up's brutal honesty—no cutting, no laugh tracks, just timing, breath, and crowd chemistry under the lights. Along the way we swap favorite character-driven films, talk AI anxiety and artistic purpose, and land on a simple metric for success: did the work create connection? If you're building your voice or looking for a reason to start, this conversation feels like a green light.Enjoy the episode? Today, we're delighted to speak with entrepreneur Moza-Bella Tram, CEO and founder of Moza-Bella LLC. Moza-Bella is an immigrant with a remarkable entrepreneurial journey. She is a TEDx speaker, a mentor, a business consultant, and has written several books, including the bestseller Powerful Female Immigrants, which she co-authored. She is also the host of the digital TV show Lessons from Failures. Stay tuned as we explore Moza-Bella's fascinating journey and the experiences that have shaped her work. Moza-Bella's Journey Moz-Bella was born in Vietnam shortly after the Vietnam War. She came to the U.S. as an adult immigrant 25 years ago, leaving behind family, familiarity, and certainty. Her experience was similar to that of many immigrants- the unknown, limited support, and the pressure to succeed, for herself, and for her family. She was told she was too old to learn English fluently, but she pushed forward anyway, focusing on clear communication rather than perfection, and using frustration as motivation to grow. Early Career and Foundations in Hospitality Before immigrating, Moza-Bella worked in Vietnam's hospitality industry at Omni Saigon and later Sofitel Saigon, where she developed an appreciation for professionalism, service, and strategic promotions. Working in public relations exposed her to branding, credibility, and global perspectives, and hospitality became her first window into the world beyond Vietnam's borders. Education, Resistance, and Choosing Her Own Path After arriving in the U.S., Moza-Bella encountered skepticism and prejudice and was discouraged from pursuing higher education. Despite that, she earned her MBA in Marketing from the University of Hartford, driven by her parents' sacrifices and her belief in the right to choose her own future. Her early ambition was to build a global hospitality career, but over time, new opportunities and realities reshaped her direction. Adaptation, Grit, and Multiple Careers Moza-Bella supported herself through school and beyond by working in nail salons, restaurants, interpretation services, construction-related marketing, network marketing, real estate, and, eventually, nursing after the 2008 financial crisis. Each role added to her skills, perspective, and resilience. Redefining Success and Time Freedom Moza-Bella wanted the flexibility to care for her parents and shape her own life, so she chose to become an entrepreneur. She invested heavily in personal development and coaching, believing that free information offers knowledge, but paid learning creates transformation. Building a Consulting Business with Purpose Over the last five years, Moza-Bella built Moza-Bella LLC into a business consulting company with a growing team. Her mission is to help strong entrepreneurs become well-known in their industries, allowing them to create meaningful impact. She believes that change happens one person at a time, through a ripple effect of shared growth and visibility. Lessons from Failures and Shared Wisdom Through her digital TV show, Lessons from Failures, Moza-Bella highlights the realities behind success stories. Entrepreneurs, doctors, and professionals from many fields share how hardship shaped their decisions, often after years of trial and error. She emphasizes the value of learning lessons sooner, challenging entrenched systems, and prioritizing growth while time is still on your side. Meaning Behind the Name Moza-Bella The name "Moza" means mother of pearl, representing an oyster that transforms pain into something valuable by embracing it rather than resisting it. For Moza-Bella, that symbolizes human potential, cultivating adversity into wisdom, then opening oneself to share it with others. Bio: Moza-Bella Tram Founder and CEO, TEDx Speaker, Author, Mentor, Business Consultant Moza-Bella is an international speaker, author, and CEO dedicated to helping professionals find authentic fulfillment and success. She has over 15 years of experience in healthcare and more than 20 years in business development. Jeannette talks to the amazing Piers Linney, entrepreneur, investor, and former Dragon, who's here to share his compelling life and career journey. Piers details his non-linear path from a working-class background and early struggles in education to becoming a successful lawyer and investment banker, stressing the initial chaos and sheer determination required You'll learn why: Piers' journey into finance and law was seen as highly improbable by others due to his background. He learned resilience by intentionally embracing a "bloody-minded" approach to overcome repeated initial setbacks. The dot-com crash of 2000 completely eliminated his safety net, forcing him to succeed as an entrepreneur. The key to enduring the early years of business is to "love the process" and stop focusing solely on the destination. The most painful times in his career led to a realisation that "self-pity doesn't become you," forcing him to get back up. Technology is democratising opportunity, but only for those who become masters of it and not technophobes. In a world of increasing automation, future career success lies in high-value, high-variability human skills. True success means having the "choice" to only do things you want to do, making every day count. She sold 28 homes her first year, 86 the next, and 145 after that — all while becoming a first-time mom in a chaotic market. But behind the success was exhaustion, fear, and a quiet question many agents are afraid to ask: What does this level of hustle actually cost?In this episode of The Faithful Agent Podcast, Garrett Maroon interviews Taley Hunt, a high-producing real estate agent, team leader, and mom who built an extraordinary business during one of the most intense markets in history — while navigating pregnancy, postpartum life, and early motherhood.Taley shares how she entered real estate with no prior industry experience, found out she was pregnant the day she passed her real estate exam, and went on to sell nearly 300 homes in three years. She opens up about the hidden cost of rapid success, including burnout, anxiety, and tying her self-worth to production.Garrett and Taley also dive into how she transitioned from blind hustle to intentional business ownership, why community and human connection matter more than ever in an AI-driven world, and how she now helps moms in real estate build big businesses without sacrificing their families or faith.Connect with Taley:- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/realestatemomcoach/- Website: https://taleyhunt.com/Key TakeawaysRapid success without boundaries can quietly lead to burnoutHustle alone is not a long-term business strategyMany agents tie self-worth to production without realizing itOrganic growth through relationships and community is powerful and sustainableSocial media and agent referrals can outperform paid leads when done intentionallyHuman connection will matter more — not less — in an AI-driven industryBuilding leverage is essential to protecting family timeDefining success personally is more important than industry benchmarksMoms in real estate need community, not comparisonYou can build a big business without trading your life for itChapters01:21 – Entering Real Estate During the Pandemic03:49 – First Deals, New Motherhood, and No Time Off 05:12 – Fear of Losing Momentum09:05 – Selling 28 Homes with No Childcare 11:03 – Scaling from 28 to 145 Transactions 12:25 – Learning to Leverage Time and Build Support 13:53 – How Social Media & Agent Referrals Built Her Business 16:11 – Teaching Agents to Build Through Community 19:11 – Why Human Connection Beats AI 22:15 – Helping Agents Find Their Niche and People 24:38 – When Production Became Identity 26:37 – Redefining Success and Setting Boundaries
Drew and Tim take a hard and honest look at how success is defined in today's church culture. In a world obsessed with numbers—attendance, giving, buildings, and platforms—this episode challenges listeners to ask whether we've borrowed the wrong scorecard. While metrics can be helpful tools, they were never meant to replace the deeper work of God in transformed lives. This conversation contrasts ministry and business, acknowledging that while both may track growth, only one is called to pursue obedience over outcomes. Drew and Tim emphasize that behind every number is a name, a story, and a soul—and that heaven celebrates faithfulness long before it celebrates growth. Churches can be full and still spiritually empty, active yet unchanged, orthodox but lifeless. At the heart of the episode is a simple but piercing truth: success in ministry is obedience to God's calling. Sometimes obedience leads to growth. Sometimes it leads to obscurity. Either way, Jesus—not results—is the goal. Through personal stories, biblical examples, and real-life ministry moments, this episode invites leaders and believers alike to redefine success, resist comparison, and pursue faithfulness over fame. If you've ever wondered whether what you're doing “counts,” this conversation will realign your heart back to what matters most—keeping your eyes on Jesus.Check out our brand-new merch store! https://eyesonjesuspodcast-shop.fourthwall.com/Get all our links in one easy place! https://linktr.ee/eyesonjesuspodcastGet the Eyes on Jesus 90 Day Discernment Devotionalhttps://a.co/d/3v8963sJoin our Group on Facebook- Eyes on Jesus podcast community https://www.facebook.com/groups/eyesonjesuspodcastEmail feedback, questions or show topic ideas to eyesonjesuspodcast@outlook.comFor more information on Drew Barker: Follow Drew on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/pastordrewbarkerDrew's church's website https://yes.online/For more information on Tim Ferrara: Get all his links in one place- to his social media, all 3 of his books, and more at https://linktr.ee/discerning_dad
This final episode of Branded and Booked is a year-end reflection on what I outgrew in 2025 and what I'm intentionally carrying into 2026. I talk about finishing a 12-cabin micro-resort and what it really feels like to build something big when the risk is real and personal. I share lessons from growing The Weber Co. and Hosted by the Webers, including getting clearer on alignment, pricing our expertise with confidence, and saying no to opportunities that don't fit. A major theme of this episode is family-first decision making. I share how becoming more present with my kids reshaped my goals, my pace, and even who I look to as role models. I'm still ambitious — but I'm no longer chasing growth that competes with the life we want. I also reflect on what I deprioritized this year, including my health and marriage, and what I'm recommitting to moving forward. This episode is about choosing alignment over comparison, staying rooted in your own definition of success, and giving yourself permission to celebrate how far you've come. If you're closing out the year questioning what still fits and what you're ready to release, this episode will resonate. Connect with me:

I walked away from a seven-figure deal—and it changed everything. In this episode of The Happy Hustle Podcast, I'm resharing my interview on The InPowered Life Podcast with my friend Rudi Riekstins and it's one of those conversations that cuts straight to the truth about success, fulfillment, and alignment. We dive into the pivotal moment when I chose to walk away from a seven-figure tech opportunity after realizing that external achievement without internal alignment leads to burnout and emptiness. On paper, everything looked like a win—but internally, something felt off. That decision became a major turning point in my life and ultimately led me down the path that shaped the Happy Hustle philosophy. In this conversation, I share how living abroad in Thailand, stepping away from the grind, and reconnecting with purpose, service, and community helped me redefine what success actually means. We also unpack my S.O.U.L.M.A.P.P.I.N framework—a practical tool designed to assess alignment across the most important areas of life, including health, relationships, service, and meaningful work. This framework has helped thousands of people identify blind spots, create intentional habits, and build lives that feel successful from the inside out.Rudi and I also explore why gratitude is a powerful antidote to the endless pursuit of “more,” how selfless service creates deeper fulfillment, and why community and masterminds are essential for sustainable personal growth. This episode is especially for anyone who feels burned out, boxed in by traditional definitions of success, or quietly wondering, Is this really it?If you've been questioning the old definition of success or feel called to build a life that actually feels good—not just looks good—this episode is a must-listen.Listen to the full episode here: caryjack.com/podcastin

In this episode, Cindy Esliger unpacks what burnout really looks like when we're still functioning at a high level. Burnout doesn't happen all at once; it sneaks in quietly. On the outside, everything looks fine, except it isn't fine. The joy is gone, the spark isn't there, and we're barely holding it together. Cindy explains how to recognize the early warning signs of burnout, what the long-term personal and professional consequences can be, and how to step back from the brink of burnout. She wants us to reclaim control, protect our well-being, and build a version of success that doesn't require continued self-sacrifice. True burnout shows up as us continuing to do the job we're paid to do until we simply can't. We become completely physically and emotionally depleted, develop a detached and cynical attitude towards everything, and we desperately try to hide how ineffective we feel. We miss the signs of burnout until we finally realize we're ready to collapse. Cindy draws on her personal experience with burnout to explain how it shows up incrementally, worms into every aspect of work, takes us down, and how the road to recovery is a very long journey. The consequences of burnout are real, and Cindy points out five of the most common outcomes: 1. High-functioning depression, 2. Cognitive decline, 3. Damaged reputation, 4. Isolation and shame, and 5. Erosion of self-worth. There are strategies we can set in place to help avoid burnout, and Cindy identifies several. Overall, however, we may need to take stock of whether or not we're in a toxic work environment or a career that simply doesn't align with our values. Burnout recovery is possible, and we can choose to protect our well-being and success. Cindy is here to guide us through. In this inspiring episode of Bootstrap MD, Dr. Mike Woo-Ming welcomes Dr. Scott Ellner, as he shares his journey from witnessing a roadside trauma that sparked his path to medicine, to practicing in New England, facing burnout and suicidal thoughts, and pivoting to executive roles like leading Integris Health Medical Group. Drawing from surfing metaphors, he discusses mental health stigma, the addiction to identity, finding purpose beyond the OR, and practical tips for physicians navigating pivots, startups, and leadership in chaotic healthcare. Perfect for doctors feeling stuck or seeking nonclinical transitions, this conversation offers hope, transparency, and actionable insights on grit, resilience, and reaching out. Three Actionable Takeaways: Embrace Mental Health Openly: Physicians face immense stressors—discuss it like physical health. If you're in crisis (e.g., burnout, cynicism), reflect on purpose: "What intimidates me motivates me." Reach out to a trusted person; a simple "Are you okay?" can save lives, as it did for Scott during a dark night on call. Redefine Purpose Beyond Identity: Don't tie your worth to "surgeon" or "physician"—identity addiction fuels burnout. Pivot by exploring passions (e.g., leadership, startups); spend time journaling or in "executive residencies" to learn business acumen, funding pitches, and health system buy-in for new ventures. Use Surfing as a Leadership Metaphor: Adversity builds grit. Paddle through discomfort like cold water or wetsuits. In healthcare chaos (post-COVID), lead by contributing meaningfully; for pivots, seek VC insights on exit strategies and physician influence (e.g., CMO buy-in) to make ideas stick. About the Show: Bootstrap MD is the ultimate podcast for physician entrepreneurs looking to escape traditional healthcare and control their financial futures. Hosted by Dr. Mike Woo-Ming, a successful physician, entrepreneur, and investor, the show delivers actionable insights on starting businesses, creating passive income, and navigating healthcare entrepreneurship. Featuring interviews with industry leaders, physicians, and experts in telemedicine and digital health, it's your guide to building a profitable, fulfilling career. Tune in weekly at http://bootstrapmd.com About the Guest: Dr. Scott Ellner is a former general and trauma surgeon, now President of Integris Health Medical Group in Oklahoma City. A leadership strategist and TEDx speaker, he transitioned from clinical practice after a mental health crisis, drawing from surgery, surfing, and executive roles to help physicians combat burnout and lead sustainably. He's the author of Wipe Out, Rise Up: A Practical and Deeply Human Guide to Leadership, Grit, and Redefining Success in Medicine.
In this episode, Molly sits down with Elijah Angote, CEO & Founder of The Best Notary, to unpack how document concierge services are transforming estate planning practices. Elijah shares how outsourcing notarization, document proofing, and delivery frees attorneys' time; how remote online notarization expands client reach across states; why precision systems reduce stress and errors; and how tech-driven workflows boost efficiency, profitability, and client experience. Key Takeaways: Full-service document support including review, printing, notarization, and final assembly helps attorneys win back hours each week. Remote online notarization makes it possible to complete signings legally across state lines, increasing flexibility for clients. Delegating notarial work improves accuracy while eliminating major administrative drag on law firm teams. Services are tailored to each firm's standards for presentation, process, and client communication. Scalable systems remove geographic barriers, allowing firms to grow far beyond their local market. In this episode of Classy & Sassy, I'm closing the year differently.Instead of waiting for January to figure things out, I'm sharing how getting clear before the year ended changed my stress level, my energy, and the way I'm entering the next season. We're talking about what I'm leaving behind, what I'm intentionally carrying forward, and why clarity doesn't need a clean calendar to exist. This conversation is about ending the year on purpose; without panic, pressure, or “new year, new me” nonsense. If you're tired of unrealistic timelines, last-minute resets, and forcing motivation, this episode is your permission slip to move forward calmly, confidently, and on your own timeline.Soft, reflective, and grounded, with just enough sass to keep it real.Send us a text
In this episode, we chat with Stephen Mullowney, CEO of TRX Gold, who are a listed mining company with its flagship project, the Buckreef Gold Project in Tanzania. Stephen's going to unpack the human side behind Buckreef's rapid growth: the moments that forced him to rethink his approach, the wins that mattered more to people than markets, and the misconceptions outsiders still hold about this industry. We explore how leaders handle unpopular decisions, where the real bottlenecks are at site level, the technologies reshaping operations and the ones that haven't lived up to the hype. We'll also look beyond production metrics to ask a bigger question: what does success truly look like for TRX in the next five years, and how sustainable is its current growth path? KEY TAKEAWAYS Effective leadership in the mining industry involves understanding the human side of operations, making decisions that prioritise long-term success over short-term gains, and empowering team members to contribute to decision-making processes. Many people mistakenly attribute a mining company's success solely to commodity prices. While prices do play a role, a strong focus on operational efficiency, growth, and cost discipline is crucial for sustainable success, regardless of market fluctuations. Mining operations face numerous bottlenecks at various stages, from drilling and blasting to crushing and milling. Identifying and addressing these bottlenecks is essential for maintaining efficiency and productivity. The mining industry is gradually adopting new technologies, particularly in areas like exploration and communication. BEST MOMENTS "Mining is a commodity space, and a lot of people give credit for success based on the commodity price, but if you don't keep a good focus on growth and cost discipline, it doesn't matter what commodity price you have." "There's always a bottleneck, and there's always a problem, and it's always in a different spot. Mining has so many little things along the process timeline that can knock you down." "I think technology is really going to help us on the exploration side. We're doing studies now to identify new structures, and competing technology can be good there." "I think the model of not diluting has been good for TRX at Buckreef, and it could continue. I don't see any reason why it can't." Prosperity doesn't have to be loud. At some point in a woman's life, success stops feeling like "more" and starts to manifest as peace in the body. In this solo episode, I explore why true prosperity doesn't come from striving, but from sufficiency, safety, and embodied self-expression. Not either happiness or money, but both, supported by sustainability. In this episode, I invite you to ask: • What does success mean when it is allowed to feel secure in the body? • Where am I still struggling internally instead of receiving? • What becomes possible when sufficiency becomes the basis of my actions?

This year didn't go as planned… and that's okay.In this soft wrap-up episode of Classy & Sassy, I'm reflecting on the quiet wins, the stalled goals, and the lessons that didn't come with applause. We're talking about releasing unrealistic timelines, redefining success, and carrying a little less pressure into the new year. This episode is for anyone who showed up imperfectly, learned the hard way, and is choosing grace over grind as the year comes to a close. Soft, honest, and just a little sassy - because growth doesn't always look how we expected, but it still counts.Send us a text

Welcome to episode #1014 of Thinking With Mitch Joel (formerly Six Pixels of Separation). At a moment when careers feel increasingly precarious and algorithms quietly dictate how value is created and captured, it's worth learning from someone who has spent more than two decades helping creators and entrepreneurs reclaim ownership of their work and their futures. Joe Pulizzi is the founder of multiple influential startups, including Content Marketing Institute, The Tilt, the Content Entrepreneur Expo and is widely recognized as the person who first coined the term "content marketing" in 2001, long before it became an industry unto itself. A bestselling author of seven books, including Epic Content Marketing and Content Inc., Joe has helped shape how organizations and individuals think about audience building, trust, and long-term value creation, earning the Content Council's Lifetime Achievement Award for his impact on the field. After successfully exiting Content Marketing Institute in 2016, he expanded his creative range by writing the award-winning mystery novel The Will To Die, while continuing to host two long-running podcasts, including This Old Marketing, the longest-running marketing news podcast in the world. His latest book, Burn The Playbook: How Creators And Entrepreneurs Escape The 9–5 And Build Businesses That Last, serves as the catalyst for this conversation and reflects a deeply personal mission inspired by his children: to help people stop renting their futures and start building assets they truly own. In the discussion, Joe explores the evolution of content and audience strategy, the underestimated power of repetition in building trust, the growing importance of individual creators over faceless brands, and why human connection matters more than ever in this AI-accelerated world. He also addresses the role of paid promotion, the practical integration of AI into creative work, and why serving a clearly defined audience remains the most durable path to meaning, freedom, and sustainable wealth. Cultivating H.E.R. Space: Uplifting Conversations for the Black Woman
Hey lady! You know we’re all about our gentle growth and continuous improvement over here so we’re excited to share an episode that will help grow your toolkit for whatever life may bring your way.As we heal and process it’s common to notice where your childhood has yet again shaped your behavior and caused patterns that at one time seemed normal but now no longer serve you. Growing up in environments where our caregivers were doing the best they could with the tools they had means that we may not have always had the space to be your full self. And, if you grew up in a Black household it’s entirely plausible to not be allowed to feel your feelings and bury them instead. But, we’re grown now and you are not only allowed to feel your feelings but you are encouraged to and there are frameworks that can help. This week, Dr. Dom and Terri present the RULER method, a powerful tool that can help you make your way through difficult and complex emotions so that you can remain in your sovereignty and stand in your integrity. This five-step method can help you meet life as it comes, which will help you loosen the grip of needing to control life. Understanding your emotions offers you more choice in your experience, which can lead to feeling more stable, grounded and having increased capacity to feel the richness and beauty that life has to offer you. Using RULER in Real Life· Recognizing: “How do I know what I’m feeling? What signals does my body send?”· Understanding: “Where did this emotion come from? Is it layered with past wounds?”· Labeling: Talk about the power of language—using words like “disrespected” vs “angry.”· Expressing: “Who is safe to share this with? What’s an empowered way to show this?”· Regulating: Tools and tips (breathwork, journaling, therapy, movement, prayer, etc.)Quote of the Day:“If you don’t know what you’re feeling, it’s hard to know what to do with your feelings.” – Dr. Marc Brackett Goal Mapping Starter GuideCultivating H.E.R. Your body has been trying to tell you something for a while now. The persistent low mood you keep attributing to stress. The exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix. The feeling that no matter how well you take care of yourself, you're still running on fumes. What if it's not willpower you're missing? What if your body is finally saying no to a version of success that's costing you everything? Lisa Corduff's Story Lisa Corduff built a million-dollar business while her life was falling apart behind the scenes. Her husband Nick was struggling with addiction and mental health. She was solo parenting three young kids. And her business became the one place that felt purposeful when everything else was chaos. She was creating non-stop. Documenting everything. Showing up in all the places because that's what successful entrepreneurs do, right? The frantic energy matched what was happening in her real life. And then Nick died in 2019. Lisa was 40 years old with three kids aged 5, 7, and 8, and she kept going because that's what you do when you're the only parent and three kids are depending on you. But here's what nobody tells you about chronic stress: your body keeps the score. For years, Lisa would wake up every morning with her nervous system spiking, wondering "what's today going to bring?" She couldn't get back to sleep. Her system was wired for threat. And even after the acute crisis passed, her body remembered. This year, everything shifted. At 45, Lisa finally got answers she didn't know she needed - ADHD and autism diagnoses that suddenly made her entire life make sense. She discovered her estrogen levels were tanked despite doing everything "right" - morning walks, good food, sleep hygiene, all of it. She realized that what she'd been calling stress was actually perimenopause masked by legitimate life chaos. And she had to make a choice: keep running the frantic version of success she'd built, or completely redefine what success means when you're no longer willing to sacrifice your nervous system, your presence with your teenage kids, or your actual life for revenue targets. In this raw, vulnerable conversation, Lisa reveals: Why she went completely quiet this year after being one of the most visible entrepreneurs online for over a decade The moment she realized her persistent low mood wasn't just grief or stress - it was disappearing estrogen What getting diagnosed with ADHD and autism in her 40s taught her about the hustle she'd been celebrated for How chronic stress from years of managing addiction, solo parenting, and business building dysregulated her nervous system (and why it didn't matter how well she took care of herself) The shift from million-dollar years to redefining success around presence with her teenage kids Why she had to let go of the "prove yourself through content" model and become what she calls a "lighthouse voice" What it's really like to advocate for your own health when doctors dismiss perimenopausal women as overreacting to social media trends How neurodivergence (ADHD + autism) shows up differently in high-achieving women who've learned to mask The hidden cost of being everyone's rock while quietly crumbling inside Why grief and addiction are the "unsexy topics" we need to talk about more What happens when you finally honor your needs instead of overriding them with willpower How to know when it's time to let go even when everything in you wants to fight to hang on This episode is for you if you've ever: Felt like your body is screaming at you, but you keep pushing through with willpower Wondered why you're exhausted despite doing all the "right things" for your health Built impressive success, but it doesn't feel the way you thought it would Questioned whether the hustle is actually worth what it's costing you Felt trapped between the business you built and the life you actually want to live Attributed chronic stress symptoms to "just having a lot going on" instead of hormones Struggled with persistent low mood that nothing seems to fix Been told by doctors that your symptoms are "just stress" or "normal aging" Felt like you're the only parent carrying it all while trying to build something meaningful Wondered who you are when you're not performing or proving anymore Realized the version of success that got you here won't get you where you want to go Known you need to let go but everything in you wants to hold on tighter About Lisa Corduff Lisa Corduff is a successful entrepreneur, speaker, and writer currently exploring the complexities of "this moment in time" on her podcast Conversations with Lisa. A powerful storyteller, she teaches experts, coaches, thought-leaders, and business owners who want to stand out online how to expertly weave stories into their content for greater impact, connection, and trust. Ready to stop overriding your body's messages and start honoring what it's trying to tell you? This conversation between Lisa Corduff and me isn't just about hormones or business strategy. It's about the wake-up call that comes when your body finally says no to a version of success built on chronic stress, over-functioning, and pushing through at all costs. Maybe you've been attributing your exhaustion to "just being busy." Maybe you've been telling yourself the persistent low mood will pass once things calm down. Maybe you've been white-knuckling your way through because you don't know another way to operate. But here's what Lisa and I both learned the hard way: you can't out-discipline a dysregulated nervous system. You can't out-supplement tanked hormones. And you can't build sustainable success while abandoning yourself in the process. The Congruency Audit is where we look at the gap between the success you've built on the outside and what you're actually feeling on the inside. We'll identify the exact patterns keeping you stuck in chronic stress, the cost of continuing to override your body's messages, and what it's going to take for you to finally create success that doesn't require you to sacrifice your health, your presence, or who you're becoming. Book your Congruency Audit: lisacarpenter.ca/audit This isn't about optimizing the version of yourself you built to survive. It's about creating congruence so the life you've built doesn't just look good - it finally feels right. Success that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside. Why success feels empty for so many high performers — and how redefining achievement through identity restores meaning, clarity, and drive. Discover how intrinsic motivation, not pressure, sharpens your edge and leads to aligned, sustainable success.High performers often assume that if success starts feeling empty, something must be wrong — with their motivation, their pace, their ambition, or their capacity. But emptiness isn't failure. It's a sign of identity misalignment, the quiet drift between who you were and who you're becoming. In this episode, Julie reframes success through intrinsic motivation, showing why meaning — not metrics — is what truly sustains high-capacity humans. Through the lens of burnout recovery, role confusion, decision fatigue, and spiritual exhaustion, she reveals why external validation stops working and how internal congruence sharpens your drive instead of softening it.You'll revisit the story of Sara Blakely, not as a billionaire founder, but as a woman who built her success from alignment, intuition, and play — a reminder that identity-led ambition multiplies effectiveness. This episode is a core expression of The Recalibration — Julie's psychology-backed, faith-rooted pathway that goes beneath mindset shifts and habit stacks to realign identity at the root. ILR isn't another strategy; it is the root-level recalibration that makes every other tool effective again. In this episode, you'll explore: • why success stops feeling like success when identity evolves • how cultural expectations shape outdated definitions of achievement • the difference between intrinsic motivation and external pressure • why alignment deepens drive rather than dulling it • how meaning becomes the new metric for sustainable excellenceToday's Micro RecalibrationIf success didn't need to impress anyone — not your peers, not your mentors, not your past self — what would success look like now? Let your success flow from alignment, not anxiety.Team RecalibrationAsk your team: “If success didn't need to impress anyone, what would we focus on differently this week?”If this episode gave you language you've been missing, please rate and review the show so more high-capacity humans can find it. Is who you are defined by what you do? Is your self-worth measured by your net worth? These questions strike at the very heartbeat of life — at what truly drives us.Are we physical beings who occasionally embark on a spiritual journey, or spiritual beings navigating a physical world?Much of our lives is consumed with survival; eating, sleeping, working, shopping, socializing. Yet what of our higher needs? Our dreams, our aspirations, the search for meaning, the purpose of our existence? It is all too easy to get lost in the means and forget the end. From our earliest years, society, education, and even our families train us to perform, to achieve, to excel but rarely to reflect on why. Why do we strive? Why do we labor? What is the purpose behind our efforts? Please join Rabbi Simon Jacobson for this vital conversation and together, we will explore how our everyday actions — our work, ambitions, and relationships — can be transformed into vessels of transcendence and higher purpose. We will uncover how to align the material and the spiritual, so that everything we do resonates with the eternal within us. This is a conversation about reclaiming meaning, living not merely for achievement or comfort, but for a life that reflects the deepest truths of our being, and awakening to the profound potential of every moment.
This week, I'm joined by an extraordinary leader in the funeral and deathcare industry. Lisa Baue is a third-generation funeral director, former CEO of Baue Funeral Homes, and founder of Funeral Women Lead—the first nonprofit dedicated to advancing women in her profession. She's also the best-selling author of Wake-Up Calls: A Journey of Learning to Lead and Succeed in the Funeral and Deathcare Profession, a powerful hybrid memoir on leadership, resilience, and redefining success. In this conversation, Lisa pulls back the curtain on a profession few of us truly understand. She shares her unexpected journey into funeral service; the sudden loss of her father that thrust her into leadership at just 30; and the decades of growth, mistakes, and hard-earned wisdom that shaped her as a leader. We talk candidly about burnout, the realities of being on call at all hours, inequities in pay and opportunity, and why so many women—despite entering the field at unprecedented rates—are leaving it.Lisa also offers a hopeful vision for the future. She walks us through her work with Funeral Women Lead, including its mission to “unleash greatness” in women through leadership development, community, and wellness.Whether you're in funeral service or another demanding profession, Lisa's insights on leadership, purpose, and well-being will inspire you. Her story is a reminder that our greatest challenges often become our greatest offerings—and that it's never too late to rewrite our path.Learn more about Lisa:WebsiteFuneral Home Lead organizationLinkedInInstagram @lisabaue_Book recommendation:Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder, by Arianna HuffingtonFollow me on:Instagram @stacyennisFacebook @stacyenniscreativeLinkedInYouTube @stacyennisauthorTo submit a question, email hello@stacyennis.com or visit stacyennis.com/contact and fill out the form on the page.
In today's episode, we're breaking down one of the biggest beliefs mothers carry — that we need to do more to feel worthy, valuable, successful, or “good enough.” And I'm sharing why that belief no longer holds power in my life… and why it doesn't need to in yours either. We're talking about the roots of this pressure, how the world measures motherhood versus how God measures motherhood, and the emotional load that comes with constantly trying to prove yourself. This episode will leave you grounded, reassured, and reminded that your worth isn't found in how much you do — but in who you are and the love you pour into your home. Welcome back to ADHD-ish! In this episode, host Diann Wingert sits down with her client Steph Cotrell for a candid and relatable discussion about what it really means to build—and rebuild—a business when you have ADHD traits and life throws you curveballs. Originally hired to help Steph Cotrell grow and scale her successful business, Diann quickly uncovered some uncomfortable truths about her business model, specifically how her notion of collaboration revealed a lack of boundaries, which led to burnout. Their coaching journey took an unexpected turn as Steph was faced with redefining her work, grappling with exhaustion, and eventually reshaping her business to prioritize authenticity, personal connection, and family in the wake of a heartbreaking loss.Together, they explore the challenges of managing emotional labor, the reality of ADHD-driven blind spots, and the courage it takes to rethink your path when everything changes. If you've ever felt caught between ambition and overwhelm or questioned how your neurodivergence shapes your entrepreneurial journey, this episode is for you. Here are 3 key takeaways from this conversation:Scaling “as-is” can scale your problems, not just your profits: Before trying to grow, pause to check if your foundation—relationships, workload, boundaries—truly supports the life you want.Give yourself permission to redefine success: It's not all-or-nothing. You can reshape business relationships and paths to fit changing needs, values, and energy levels.Clarity fuels action: The sooner you move from overthinking to taking action (even messy, uncertain steps), the faster you learn, adapt, and build the business—and life—that truly work for you.Mic Drop Moment: "You don't have to be the glue holding all of this together. If you enjoy working with them, work with them, and if you don't, don't."Connect with Steph Cottrell: Website: https://www.blueelephantcreative.comLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bluelecreative/How Steph discovered me: ADDItude Magazine webinar: “How to Build a Business That Works for Your ADHD Brain” Want to hear more Client Success Stories? For musicians who've been at it 10, 20, 30 years and suddenly realize the old definition doesn't fit the life they actually want now. If you've hit a point in your career where things look successful on paper but don't feel like success anymore, this conversation will land. In this interview, we dig into redefining success as a musician—especially for players who've been at it 10, 20, 30 years and suddenly realize the old definition doesn't fit the life they actually want now.I'm talking with violinist and coach Sarah Whitney, someone who has worked with a lot of mid-career pros who are quietly burned out, overcommitted, or feeling stuck in the identity they built years ago. What she's seeing in the field right now is something most musicians don't talk about publicly.Connect with Sarah through her mailing list to receive invites to online networking events and support: https://sarahwhitney.myflodesk.com/ngf2keppgs We get into things like:. What happens when the dream you chased in your 20s no longer makes sense in your 40s or 50s. Why so many musicians hide that they're unfulfilled. How career “success” can start running your life if you're not careful. How to take back agency instead of waiting for the phone to ring. What it looks like to make a real pivot without blowing up your life. How to reconnect with the part of you that actually wants somethingAnd honestly, we both share some of our own story here—leaving big gigs, turning down opportunities, walking away from identities that once defined us, and building something that fits our lives now.If you've been feeling that something in your career needs to shift… or if you're wondering whether you're “allowed” to want something different… I think this will reassure you that you're not alone.Follow Sarah Whitney:Instagram: @theproductivemusicianWebsite: www.sarahwhitney.com

We live in a world where rest has been branded as lazy. Where women, especially ambitious women and entrepreneurs, are expected to do it all: run the business, raise the kids, support the family, maintain friendships, and keep it all looking effortless. But beneath the surface? So many of us are exhausted, overwhelmed, and quietly wondering if we'll ever feel “enough.” Nicola Jane Hobbs is here to challenge that narrative. Nicola is a chartered psychologist with a master's degree in sport and exercise psychology, and she's spent more than a decade supporting women's health and wellbeing through yoga, meditation, and therapeutic practice. She's also the founder of The Relaxed Woman, a movement and community dedicated to helping women recover from stress and burnout. In this episode, Nicola and I are unpacking why rest feels so hard for women, why female entrepreneurs in particular struggle to switch off, and the practical rituals and strategies we can use to finally make peace with rest. If you've ever felt guilty for slowing down, or if burnout has been lurking in the background of your business journey, this episode is for you.
