On today's episode I'm joined by Ariel Hansen, filmmaker, actor and co-founder of Bad Cookie Pictures. Ariel is one of the many guests who has left me floored with her creativity - from her directing and acting talents to her clothes and costume-making skills. Her short film Nepenthes is a gooey, gory delight and just one of her many fantastic works. With her FFO of supernatural, occult and experiment, I decided to take a risk and choose a film neither of us had seen before. It doesn't fully match the FFO but we had a wonderful time talking about it and I'd certainly list this as one of my favourite modern moody horrors. Join Ariel and I as we drift off to a surreal and shadowy slumber with 2021's COME TRUE. Season 2 begins with a discussion about the 2019 Peter Strickland's arthouse film In Fabric, and a deep dive into my special guest Ariel Hansen's (multi-faceted filmmaker) own artistic works. Ariel and I talk subgenres of horror, prequels, cursed objects, our mutual love for gory films, the origin story to the company she co-founded Bad Cookie Pictures, and much more! We also geek out over Ariel's festival films and her upcoming projects that are currently in development. For this episode we welcome the team behind Vancouver based Bad Cookie Pictures, Ariel Hansen and Topher Graham, to talk all about their short films "Ready to Burst", "Paint the Town Red", and "The Man in the Rabbit Mask" as well as all their upcoming projects and how they ended up in the horror game in the first place. Then we invited them to join us in naming our favourite body horror films. The only guideline was: there wasn't any! Meaning we all had very diverse lists that included some films you might have expected, some surprises, and even a little bit of the old A2M. WARNING: things might get a bit raunchy at times!
