Persistence and resilience are qualities we all have inside of us. It is challenging to bring these qualities out, especially when faced with illness and when having no support. Connection with others is vital to helping individuals deal and better cope with a diagnosis. As my 10-year "Cancerversary" approaches this April 1st, I wanted to air this episode with Guest Goddess Jonny Imerman from Imerman Angels. When I was diagnosed, I was scared, confused, and feeling alone. Even though I had my husband and family support me, I still felt isolated in my mind as they really didn't understand what I was going through mentally and physically. They were helpful and comforting but could not relate. What really saved me during this time was Imerman angels. I was connected to this organization by a friend. I was screened and paired up with several individuals who were just like me—similar cancer, age, children, lifestyle. I was able to really open up and ask all the questions I had to help me deal with this diagnosis, including how to talk to my children, how to prepare for treatment, how to lower stress in my life, as well as just to be a listening ear. My angels were on call 24/7 to help me whenever I needed that support- they were a phone call away. After I was cancer-free for two years, I was able to be an angel myself. I connected with several people and one in particular, who I continue to be friends with today. Join us in conversation with Jonny and Victoria (I'm an angel for) to learn about the importance of teamwork, connection, being vulnerable, and open so we can all help each other to cope. As Jonny says, "by connecting with people and sharing wisdom, we can help to pull them across the finish line so they can win their life back." Let's all help each other across that finish line to win the race! Love the show? One of the most basic questions a human being can ask is 'who am I?'. As Jonny outlines a biblical picture of identity, he explains why we have to consider not just one, or even two, but three different identities, as we seek to understand who we are and who we could be. (Preached at West+North only).
Jonny Cooper is a lifetime entrepreneur, having built a financial business from zero to 8-figures before selling to a public company in 2003. Since then, Jonny "fell into" coaching through being asked for advice on growth and exit strategies by former clients and his wider network. He attributes the spectacular success of his early venture to his ability to define a clear and simple marketing message, and in identifying and engaging with an audience for that message. For the last 15 years, Jonny's been coaching entrepreneurs and business owners large and small in the three principles of what he calls Effortless Marketing - Awareness > Interest > Engagement. In 2017, Jonny launched The Success Party with the following Massive Transformative Purpose: "My MTP with The Success Party is to empower 100,000 entrepreneurs by 2025 with the principles of Effortless Marketing, reducing stress and creating more impact around the world." He launched The Jonny Hates marketing podcast in October 2017, with Season 1 promising to bring his unique philosophies to life with humour and passion. In Jonny's words from The Success Party homepage: “We're alive at a point in history where there is more opportunity to thrive than ever before. Digital tools and access to universal connectivity provide us with everything we could need to build an exponential business, and a life of our wildest dreams. Yet too often we find ourselves stifled by procrastination, fear and overwhelm. Overwhelm from too much information. Overwhelm from social media noise. Overwhelm from the death of traditional marketing. Overwhelm from the scale of opportunity. The antidote to all that is clarity: Clarity of Thought Clarity of Ideas Clarity of Action" As Jonny says - Let's Get On With It! From the mind of Jonathan Metts comes Crosstawk.com's newest addition: Discover Music Project. In it, Jonny and Co. will discuss music that at least one person on the show isn't terribly familiar with. The hope is that, by playing the very best from that genre/band, they (as well as you, the listener) will expand their musical horizons. In this debut episode, Jonny's showing off one of his personal favorites, Phish, to Box Office Poison and Rough Draught's own Mike Sklens. You might have a lot of preconcieved notions about Phish (and their dirty hippy fans), but I think you'll be plenty surprised with how much there is to like. Here are a few links pertaining to things discussed in the show: - Beavis and Butthead Phish Crossover:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4O_X8E2zzE - Endless Boundaries:http://www.endlessboundaries.com/ - Phish Live in Miami in December 2009:http://www.livephish.com/live-music/0,523/Phish-mp3-flac-download-12-28-2009-American-Airlines-Arena-Miami-FL.html - The Encore's Tribute Concert:http://stash.nugs.net/attics/cat050924.asp?artist=62&show=330&cmd=shows As always, send all of your questions, suggestions and concerns to crosstawk@gmail.com As Jonny notes towards the end, we're absolutely looking for your input on future episodes, so get writing! Also be sure to head on over to iTunes and rate/review us, as it's the best way to get the word out. Jonny and Mike did a fantastic job here, so I know you'll enjoy the episode.
