Not every objection is about price. Sometimes, customers are already frustrated the moment you pull up. In this episode of Windshield Time, Chris Elmore and James “J-Dub” Walker unpack the invisible minefields techs face—frustrated customers, callbacks, pre-diagnosed opinions, and homeowners who try to control the process. You'll learn how to: -Navigate awkward customer situations without taking the blame -Use the “ERR” method: Empathize, Reassure, Redirect -Avoid apologizing for things you don't own -Guide customers back into your process—without a fight -Stay calm, confident, and in control—even on callbacks or late arrivals Mentioned in this episode: The ERR framework: Empathize, Reassure, Redirect “Time, Crime, or Grime” — why customers don't want you inside The danger of owning problems that aren't yours How redirecting avoids conflict (and earns trust) Personality profiles and their role in tension Why every conversation is low-level negotiation

Interview by Kris PetersThe incomparable CHELSEA WOLFE has announced her return to Australia and New Zealand in May 2025. Three years after her sold-out tour of Oceania, the Queen of Darkness will bring her visceral, vivid live performance back to Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington. She will tour with her four-piece band, as well as bringing along experimental Australian producer APHIR, performing as support for all shows.Wolfe will perform a career-spanning set on this tour, including songs from her new album She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She, which was released in February. Her latest album is a rebirth in process. It is a powerfully cathartic statement about cutting ties, as well as an important reminder that healing is cyclical and circular, and not a simple linear process. Featuring elements of electronica, trip hop, industrial music and goth rock, the album has been hailed as one of her finest works. The record has been followed by two EPs containing reimaginings of the songs. Wolfe last performed in Australia in 2022 for Tasmania's Dark Mofo, along with a full national tour, her first in a decade. Her return in 2025 will mark 15 years since her debut The Grime and The Glow was released, sparking a career that has influenced and inspired a dedicated cult following worldwide to appreciate life in both its darkness and light.HEAVY spent some time with Chelsea ahead of the tour. We start by asking what has changed in her world since she was last out here in 2022."I feel like I've grown and changed as a person," she offered. "I've toured so much with these songs, I've learned so much from them. I learned so much from writing them, and I'm learning so much from playing them. They're very personal and also very universal. So it's like each night I notice a different lyric or something and kind of, you know, get present with that for a moment."In the full interview, Chelsea expressed excitement for her upcoming tour in Australia and New Zealand, where she will perform a mix of new songs and older favourites, while also discussing her growth as an artist and the connection she feels with her fan base. She reflected on her previous solo tour experience, the evolution of her music style from overproduced to lo-fi, and the integration of atmospheric elements in her live performances.Chelsea also highlighted her latest album, and the two remix EPs with acoustic versions, showcasing her artistic journey and the creative thought behind her stage setup and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

By rights, the fly-on-the-wall workplace documentary should have died a death the moment The Office became a hit. At that time, BBC shows like Airport, set in Heathrow, and Life of Grime about environmental health workers attracted cult followings with their often banal interviews, wobbly camerawork and acerbic voiceover narrations. Ricky Gervais' masterpiece took these stylistic devices and turned them up to 11 with the fictional Slough-based paper company Wernham Hogg, where “life is stationery”. Since then almost every conceivable place of work has been considered – from registrars to zookeepers and cruise ships to police stations. Airlines, banks, butchers and bakers even a candlestick maker. Their appeal lingers. It's not hard to imagine why: we all work somewhere, we're inquisitive (ok nosey) animals. We want to peer into others' lives, and imagine what it is like, or thank our lucky stars we don't work there. A question to ask then might be: who in their right mind would invite a camera crew into their business, with unhindered access? With minimal, if any, meaningful editorial control? Quite a few firms it would seem. Clearly the Corporate Affairs Directors who signs off on this (or perhaps even came up with the idea in the first place) see more upside than down. So. Why would you? And why would you not? And if you do manage to persuade your boss, and your ExCo and your board what do you need to think about? What controls need to be in place? What might cause you sleepless nights? These questions are answered, and more, on this edition of The Little Questions. Hosted by: Andrew Brown; formerly Director of Communications and Public affairs at Ageas Insurance, Andrew has more than ten years' experience leading the corporate affairs functions for global, listed, multifaceted firms across a range of regulated and unregulated sectors. He has considerable experience in issues, crisis and change management as well as reputation sentiment analysis and insight. Formerly Director of Communications at Drax Group plc and Group Corporate Affairs Director at Regus plc. Matt Young has 25 years of experience across media relations, public affairs, regulatory development, employee engagement, brand development, competition and CSR. In this raw and gritty episode of "Coming Clean with Me," addiction specialist Elliott Wald sits down with DJ Mak 10, a.k.a. Nathaniel Ramsey, one of the founding fathers of the UK grime scene. Like the hard-hitting beats and unfiltered lyrics that define grime music, Mak 10 lays bare his 23-year battle with addiction, pulling no punches as he recounts his journey from the grimy streets of East London to the dizzying heights of fame.As a key player in the influential Nasty Crew, Mak 10 helped shape the sound that would become the voice of a generation. But behind the decks and the bravado, a darker story was unfolding. With the same intensity that drove his music, Mak 10 found himself caught in a spiral of cocaine, alcohol, and destructive behaviour that threatened to silence his career and his life. From the adrenaline-fueled highs of all-night benders to the crushing lows of paranoia and self-loathing, Mak 10 spits his truth with the same rapid-fire delivery that made him a legend. He doesn't shy away from the dirt, detailing the funky chicken episodes, the dishonest hustles, and the relationships shattered in the wake of his addiction. But like the best grime tracks, this story has a powerful drop. Mak 10 reveals the moment that finally cut through the noise, leading him to seek help and begin the gruelling process of getting clean. Now ten months sober, he offers a glimpse of life on the other side - a redemption as powerful as any beat he's ever dropped. This episode is a must-listen for anyone who's ever felt trapped by their demons or struggled to find their way back from the brink. It's a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a reminder that even in the grittiest of circumstances, there's always hope for a comeback.Contact Elliott directly on: 07875 751960 or find out more on his website: https://www.hypnosis-expert.com/ADDICTION/

Only Chamberlain is playing something new, suffering through the new normal of obnoxiously difficult metroidvania bosses, courtesy Ender Magnolia. It's not as mean as Grime, but it's close. Chance has rediscovered Sekiro and is somehow better at it now than when he finished it the first time. And Alex finished the final Skyrim DLC over a decade after release. It's about time.
Enea Pascal is the co founder of IVREATRONIC and has just released a new record called ‘BRUTTO?'. It's a wicked release, compiled of downtempo explorations, trip hop, weird skits, mutations and beyond. It's tripped out and freakish, playful and yet somehow makes sense as a body of work. Released on IVREATRONIC, the label and party series first emerged from Ivrea in Italy in 2017 and has grown from strength to strength, helping to push forward the leftfield, underground of Italy's electronic music scene. Now to this mix… Enea delivers a killer selection of sounds, woozy, wonky and punk esque in style. This is a mix for the heads. Think Mo Wax meets L.I.E.S meets early 2000's Grime. A wild ride through a number of sounds makes this a wicked journey.

With such a thirst for variety and reputation for unexpectedly surprising her crowds, defining a typical Sara Sukkha set can be an impossible task. With a positive attitude, relentless dedication to perfecting her art and a hands on approach in managing her own brand, Sara's future is looking bright with many more milestones to conquer. Wherever she goes next, Sara Sukkha is proud to promise her crowds only one thing Expect the unexpected.

Hello, Can You Hear Me? is an audio storytelling project that was funded by Wakefield Council as part of Our Year – Wakefield District 2024 It features ten folktales re-created by the storyteller, Beccy Dye. These were arranged on a period telephone which was then toured across the District. People simply dialled a number to reach a story, each story was broken up into parts, so if they wanted listens could create story mash-ups.The project included a live, family-friendly performance which launched the exhibition in each venue.Hope in Normanton is an adaptation bringing together a series of stories by Peter Kirton from his book, Normanton: Grit, Grime and CourageSounds Used in This Episode:Street Ambience: CalmVillage NL 9pm LONG Engelen 130701_01.flac by klankbeeld -- https://freesound.org/s/193057/ -- License: Attribution 4.0Spine-cracking: Popping neck knuckles or any thing that pops by JoMungus -- https://freesound.org/s/718592/ -- License: Creative Commons 0Snap tin: Tin can - small - handle - pick up - put down - metallic.wav by ValentinPetiteau -- https://freesound.org/s/624489/ -- License: Creative Commons 0Door: DoorSwingShut.mp3 by Yap_Audio_Production -- https://freesound.org/s/218993/ -- License: Attribution 4.0Scaping manhole cover: Manhole Cover Moving by WolfpiggyProductions -- https://freesound.org/s/708772/ -- License: Creative Commons 0Bang manhole cover: Manhole Blows / Metallic Boom by bevibeldesign -- https://freesound.org/s/366093/ -- License: Creative Commons 0Geese: Geese.wav by Elanor1995 -- https://freesound.org/s/688839/ -- License: Creative Commons 0Water plop sound: water plop splash falling sound effect by Garuda1982 -- https://freesound.org/s/539763/ -- License: Attribution 4.0Geese: Geese.wav by deleted_user_2104797 -- https://freesound.org/s/164484/ -- License: Creative Commons 0Donkey bray: donkey braying call field recording by Garuda1982 -- https://freesound.org/s/539505/ -- License: Attribution 4.0Tapping shoes: Footsteps tap.wav by gpag1 -- https://freesound.org/s/392482/ -- License: Creative Commons 0Footsteps: footsteps on stone patio 1.wav by soundmary -- https://freesound.org/s/117628/ -- License: Creative Commons 0Intro/Outro music for podcast episode: Folk Guitar Music Track by Dvideoguy -- https://freesound.org/s/246315/ -- License: Creative Commons 0

That can mean only one thing: we're returning to Powerwash Simulator with Matt Bliss.Remember that you can always get in touch with us on our Facebook page, on X, or using our Contact page.Content WarningBefore we dive into the wild ride with Powerwash Simulator featuring Matthew Bliss, let's take a moment for a quick disclaimer. You might catch us spouting off some light swears and joking about drug use in this episode. Don't worry, it's all part of the gaming banter and absolutely nothing to be taken seriously. We just want to ensure that the listeners are aware that we're just a bunch of goof-balls having some fun here at the Waffling Taylors.Anyway, on with the episode— SquidgePlease listen responsibly.Show NotesThis is part two of a conversation with Matt about Powerwash Simulator. You can find part one here. From active time battling to zombie slaying Waffling Taylors covers video games and beyond. In this second serving of bite-sized banter with the side of gaming goodness we catch up with matt from the Coffee With A Podcaster Podcast to talk about all things Powerwas Simulator. We cover everything from unpainting squids in corners, triggering Powerwash veterans, and Soupy Tuesday. So without further ado, sit back, grab some snacks and get ready for this episode entitled "Powerwash Simulator: Chill Grime Busting, No Dilution - Part Two." Take it away guys.Take it away, guys— SquidgeGameplay Mechanics and Story ElementsAs good as the gameplay mechanics are, should there be a story to Powerwash Simulator? This was the first burning question on Squidge's mind:It can be kind of isolating to work by yourself on a job site, cleaning a digger or whatever…The game doesn't require you to take breaks, so when it flashes on the other side of the screen and you see that text, I think it's important to you know keep you level-headed. But you have to add things for those distractions to make sense, and I think it adds a bit to the story too.Because one of the most engaging things about the the Markiplier episodes for the recordings he did sometimes he'd stop and just listen intently and there'd be like a volcanic rumbling in the background of one of the houses he was cleaning. And he starts going, "oh is that a volcano? Is it like a volcano nearby," and then he pans to a part of the horizon and there's, like, an active volcano in the background. And then one of the text messages he gets talks about volcano insurance or something, and then you're like, "oh yeah it's all coming together now it kind of makes sense."— MattQuirky QuestionsWe always love a quirky question or two on a WT Lite episode. So, as is traditional, Squidge wanted to pepper Matt with some about Powerwash Simulator. If you could Powerwash any fictional world which one would it be and why would you do it?— SquidgeAnd Matt responded with:In terms of a fictional gaming world, making that a possibility, I think Splatoon would be your best bet. You've got a game that's focused on these little squid kitties destroying an environment by pasting it with all of their ink, and then level two is all the powerwashers come out and they start spraying down all the environments, so that they can get it ready for the next session. So I think the Splatoon's worlds, I think that that makes a lot of sense.— MattAnd we can all agree that Matt's logic here is impeccable. If Powerwash Simulator had a soundtrack tailored specifically for cleaning—so not just the sound of the water rushing—what songs or genre of music do you think would be included?— SquidgeMatt's choices of music are perfect. So it's got to be like lo-fi beats, electronica, kind of white noise support. Clearly, you know, we're both the same kind of person who needs a bit of distraction on the side to, you know, keep things moving. But I think that's probably what you'd end up going for.— MattWhich started a conversation about ramping up tension and integrating with FitBit devices. If you had to recruit a team of video game characters to help you tackle the massive cleaning jobs in Powerwash Simulator (i.e. the very last level, there's a massive temple, it's going to take you a couple of hours) who would you choose as your cleaning crew and why?— SquidgeAgain Matt's choices made perfect sense. If you want it to be easier, you want to think about characters that are water-based.So I mean, you get a bunch of water Pokémon as your friends and they start spraying the environment for you. You could pick a bunch of people who could help you move around the environment, but ultimately you're the only one spraying…so I don't know. I'm overthinking it too much. Just get me a Starmie, and a Staryu, and a Blastoise. We'll do it that way.— MattFull Show NotesCheck out the full show notes for the full list of Squidge's questions, some extra stuff, and some links to related things.Do you have a favourite cute animal video? Afro House is not something we've covered in depth on the show to date, but this week we welcome one of the UK's foremost exponents of the form.Kitty Amor was born in London, but cut her musical teeth running nights as a student Nottingham where she and her associates were instrumental in bringing the second wave of Grime, Funky, and other key London genres out of the capital. Her sound as a DJ was also developed during that stint in the midlands, and upon returning to London she made a success in establishing herself on the scene, and put herself in a great position to kick on when the international opportunities came knocking as they inevitably did. We discuss the challenges of getting started in the industry, the influence of musical parents, the peculiarities of running student nights, taking advantage of the time in lockdown, and the nature of the scene today.Kitty has some great stories and you're gonna enjoy this episode! If you're into what we're doing here on the pod then you can support the show on Patreon!
