Healing isn't about motivation—it's about discipline. In this episode of The Health Revival Show, Liz and Becca break down why the most successful people in health, business, and life aren't the ones who “feel ready,” but the ones who keep showing up anyway. We talk about resilience, overthinking, stress, nervous system dysregulation, healing seasons, and why mindset matters just as much as protocols. You'll learn how discipline applies to workouts, nutrition, hormone balance, gut health, chronic illness, and long-term healing—and why quitting is usually the biggest setback. If you're stuck, burned out, bloated, exhausted, or frustrated that healing feels harder than it should, this episode will shift how you think about progress. *** CONNECT:

Caylee Chua, multidisciplinary artist and founder of Strawberry Champagne Sparkles, joins Jeremy Au to share how she built Ren Faire SG: The Origin from a niche idea into Singapore's first Renaissance Fair. She traces her journey from crafting fairycore jewelry to designing an immersive festival that blends artistry, performance, and community play. Caylee explains how early inspiration from overseas fairs sparked her vision, how months of quiet TikTok posts built the first wave of support, and how strict venue rules forced her to redesign logistics with precision. They discuss why Singaporeans crave spaces for imagination, how grassroots creativity grows when subcultures meet, and why young founders can move fast even without industry backing. Their conversation explores the mix of cosplay, crafts, DnD, book culture, and youth communities that shaped the fair, the emotional work behind cold outreach and rejections, and the courage required to keep building when early metrics stay small. Caylee also reflects on curating performers, choosing Fort Canning as her launch venue, and creating an accessible fairytale aesthetic that encourages families and newcomers to rediscover wonder through craftsmanship and play. 01:59 Discovering Renaissance Fairs through global festivals: Caylee explains how US and European fairs mix historical reenactments, fantasy costumes, live music, and immersive outdoor spaces. 07:35 Planning logistics under strict rules: She walks through tough constraints from the parks authority, including truck access limits, safety marshals, tree buffers, and weekday-only setup windows. 09:51 Choosing Fort Canning after venue rejections: Other parks blocked her plans, Marina Barrage felt too modern, and only one Fort Canning lawn delivered both ambience and affordability. 12:03 Designing a fairytale-first theme: She leans into approachable fairytale fantasy so families, casual fans, and newcomers feel welcome without needing deep fandom knowledge. 15:20 Curating performers with an open call: She reviews video auditions, selects musicians and street cast with the right energy, and balances skill, costume fit, and stage flow. 18:29 Building early marketing momentum: She starts socials early, grows an email list, mobilizes supporters to reshare posts, and uses community filming to power Instagram and TikTok reach. 28:48 Staying brave when early posts fall flat: She pushes through silence, posts daily despite tiny views, and keeps her conviction until the algorithm and word of mouth finally amplify her work. Catch a cozy, no-filter chat with Louie James as he opens up about growing up near London, how classic American cinema lit his imagination, and the wild adventures of indie filmmaking that shaped his career. We dive into his intense roles, physical stunts in River of Blood, and the twists of performing in the new time-loop horror Manor of Darkness — releasing December 9th. Louie talks acting training, the power of honest collaboration, why darker stories still hold a glimmer of humanity, and even his thoughts on ghosts, guardian angels, and how tech (including AI) can help indie filmmakers punch above their weight. It's like hanging out with a thoughtful, slightly dramatic friend — intimate, honest, and a little spooky.

Renegade Thinkers Unite: #2 Podcast for CMOs & B2B Marketers
Recruiting great marketers is tough work. Sustaining performance, growth, and energy over time demands deliberate choices. Those choices shape the culture, the pace, and the results your team can sustain through whatever comes next. To see how this plays out across very different orgs, Drew talks with Dan Lowden (Blackbird.AI), Marni Puente (SAIC), and Amy King (Relias) about the teams they've built and the systems that keep them performing. They break down who they hire first, how they set structure and expectations, and how coaching, intelligent failure, and AI-supported workflows help people grow and stay motivated. In this episode: Dan builds a lean, senior, hands-on startup team and fosters a test-and-learn culture where people move fast, try new things, and learn together. Marni reshapes a communications-heavy function into a modern marketing org, adding commercial and demand capabilities and aligning work to OKRs and transparent dashboards. Amy leads a marketing reset at Relias, rebuilding leadership and structure, positioning marketing with sales and client care, and modeling vulnerability and continuous learning through change. Plus: Why AI committees, battle buddies, and shared learning loops turn hesitation into confident adoption How OKRs, scorecards, and focused dashboards clarify priorities and tie marketing to revenue outcomes Where intelligent failure helps teams stop low-value work, share lessons, and build trust How competency assessments, surveys, and development plans nurture top performers and future leaders If you're building, inheriting, or leveling up a marketing team, this episode gives you a ton of moves to help it perform, grow, and stay together. Glean started as a Kleiner Perkins incubation and is now a $7B, $200m ARR Enterprise AI leader. Now KP has tapped its own podcaster to lead it's next big swing. From building go-to-market the hard way in startups (and scaling Palo Alto Networks' public cloud business) to joining Kleiner Perkins to help technical founders turn product edge into repeatable revenue, Joubin Mirzadegan has spent the last decade obsessing over one thing: distribution and how ideas actually spread, sell, and compound. That obsession took him from launching the CRO-only podcast Grit (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRiWZFltuYPF8A6UGm74K2q29UwU-Kk9k) as a hiring wedge, to working alongside breakout companies like Glean and Windsurf, to now incubating Roadrunner which is an AI-native rethink of CPQ and quoting workflows as pricing models collapse from “seats” into consumption, bundles, renewals, and SKU sprawl. We sat down with Joubin to dig into the real mechanics of making conversations feel human (rolling early, never sending questions, temperature + lighting hacks), what Windsurf got right about “Google-class product and Salesforce-class distribution,” how to hire early sales leaders without getting fooled by shiny logos, why CPQ is quietly breaking the back of modern revenue teams, and his thesis for his new company and KP incubation Roadrunner (https://www.roadrunner.ai/): rebuild the data model from the ground up, co-develop with the hairiest design partners, and eventually use LLMs to recommend deal structures the way the best reps do without the Slack-channel chaos of deal desk. We discuss: How to make guests instantly comfortable: rolling early, no “are you ready?”, temperature, lighting, and room dynamics Why Joubin refuses to send questions in advance (and when you might have to anyway) The origin of the CRO-only podcast: using media as a hiring wedge and relationship engine The “commit to 100 episodes” mindset: why most shows die before they find their voice Founder vs exec interviews: why CEOs can speak more freely (and what it unlocks in conversation) What Glean taught him about enterprise AI: permissions, trust, and overcoming “category is dead” skepticism Design partners as the real unlock: why early believers matter and how co-development actually works Windsurf's breakout: what it means to be serious about “Google-class product + Salesforce-class distribution” Why technical founders struggle with GTM and how KP built a team around sales, customer access, and demand gen Hiring early sales leaders: anti-patterns (logos), what to screen for (motivation), and why stage-fit is everything The CPQ problem & Roadrunner's thesis: rebuilding CPQ/quoting from the data model up for modern complexity How “rules + SKUs + approvals” create a brittle graph and what it takes to model it without tipping over The two-year window: incumbents rebuilding slowly vs startups out-sprinting with AI-native architecture Where AI actually helps: quote generation, policy enforcement, approval routing, and deal recommendation loops — Joubin X: https://x.com/Joubinmir LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/joubin-mirzadegan-66186854/ Where to find Latent Space X: https://x.com/latentspacepod Substack: https://www.latent.space/ Chapters 00:00:00 Introduction and the Zuck Interview Experience 00:03:26 The Genesis of the Grit Podcast: Hiring CROs Through Content 00:13:20 Podcast Philosophy: Creating Authentic Conversations 00:15:44 Working with Arvind at Glean: The Enterprise Search Breakthrough 00:26:20 Windsurf's Sales Machine: Google-Class Product Meets Salesforce-Class Distribution 00:30:28 Hiring Sales Leaders: Anti-Patterns and First Principles 00:39:02 The CPQ Problem: Why Salesforce and Legacy Tools Are Breaking 00:43:40 Introducing Roadrunner: Solving Enterprise Pricing with AI 00:49:19 Building Roadrunner: Team, Design Partners, and Data Model Challenges 00:59:35 High Performance Philosophy: Working Out Every Day and Reducing Friction 01:06:28 Defining Grit: Passion Plus Perseverance

Some people dream. Others help weave those dreams. This episode is about two women who refuse to separate the two. It begins with Karla Briones. Raised in an entrepreneurial family in Chihuahua, Mexico, her first business was a schoolyard candy empire at six years old. Then the drug cartels arrived. Threats followed. Friends disappeared. At eighteen, her family dismantled their entire life and drove nearly four thousand kilometres to Canada with no safety net, no jobs, no guarantees. What followed was survival. Credentials did not transfer. Her parents fell into depression. Karla became a provider before she had finished becoming a student. Three jobs. A new language. University. Failure. Grit. Then entrepreneurship again. Pet stores. Restaurants. Retail. Some worked. Some collapsed. All of them taught her the same lesson: everyone can use and benefit from a helping hand. That lesson eventually became Immigrant Entrepreneur Canada to help weave the dreams of others. One of the many who benefited is Lina Asmah, the Hot Pepper Lady. From Ghana to Canada, Lina carried fire in both food and spirit. She works full-time. She farms. She grows over 160 varieties of peppers. Her turning point came at a last-minute event she almost skipped. Karla spoke. Lina applied. She entered Immigrant Entrepreneur Canada and found something rare, a system that did not talk about immigrants as numbers, but as builders. She found mentors. She found clarity. She found momentum. She found her dream. Lina also named something most people feel but rarely say out loud: we listen to accents before we listen to ideas. Inside that community, she found her voice again. Immigration Entrepreneur Canada and Karla Briones are helping newcomers weave their dreams. To find out more about Immigration Entrepreneur Canada: https://www.immigrantentrepreneurcanada.ca
After a decade in high-performance finance at Goldman Sachs and Oaktree Capital, Hilary Hoffman realized the metrics she was optimizing for were no longer aligned with the life she wanted. She left the boardroom to build Soto Method, a results-driven fitness program rooted in discipline, measurable progress, and the truths she saw in the lives of ambitious, overextended people. In this conversation, Hilary shares the moment passion eclipsed stability, the soft skills she spent 10,000 hours developing in finance, and how these same traits (grit, adaptability, and structured focus) now define her founder journey. “One more second” became the heart of her method. She explains how she engineered recurring revenue to self-fund early growth and how a three-month Tribeca pop-up unexpectedly evolved into a sold-out proof of concept.Hilary also opens up about hiring her first key team member, what “willingness” really means in the people she brings on, and how she's building a meritocratic culture where initiative matters more than résumé. As a new mom of twins, she reflects on redefining success, creating boundaries with urgency, and why structure has become her antidote to overwhelm. From scaling an app into a brick-and-mortar brand to raising a strategic first round for national expansion, Hilary offers a grounded, honest look at what it takes to build something distinct in one of the most competitive industries in the world.Timestamps:[00:00] Introduction[04:52] What signaled Hilary to leave finance[09:38] How adapting your energy shifts how people receive you[13:27] Measurable progress defines Soto Method[17:56] Hiring for willingness reshaped Hilary's first key role[21:44] High performers engineer discipline through structure instead of motivation[26:33] How sequencing sessions, the app, and pop-ups fueled sustainable scale[30:50] How a three-month pop-up became a sold-out launchpad for expansion[34:41] What motherhood taught Hilary about redefining urgency, boundaries, and success[38:55] The simple daily practice Hilary uses to defuse stress Resources Mentioned:Founders Podcast by David Senra | Spotify or AppleLearn more about Hilary Hoffman:Hilary Hoffman | InstagramHilary Hoffman | LinkedInSoto Method | WebsiteSoto Method | InstagramFollow Nancy Twine:Instagram: @nancytwinewww.nancytwine.comFollow Makers Mindset:Instagram: @makersmindsetspaceTikTok: @themakersmindsetwww.makersmindset.com

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to talk about resilience as if it is a single gear we should keep turning forever? That question has been sitting with me for a while. I have spent years teaching leaders how to build resilience and how to stay steady when life shakes the ground under their feet. I believe in that work with my whole heart. But lately something has shifted in me. I have been rethinking the way we treat resilience as endless forward motion, almost like we are supposed to sprint through every storm without ever stopping to breathe. In this solo episode, I share an honest look at my own evolution. I talk about the moment I realized that resilience without nourishment becomes a slow drain on our spirit. I describe the trap of powering through, the belief that toughness alone will carry us, and why I am moving toward something I call resilience plus. It is the space where grit meets care, where perseverance is paired with grounding, and where the ability to rise again is strengthened by the willingness to rest, pray, listen, and refill ourselves. I walk through the lessons that hit me during a retreat in Toronto, the ones that helped me see how nourishment is not a luxury but a condition for real resilience. I share what it feels like to stand in front of a room of people who are fully present, fully open, and fully human. I talk about the people who hold me, the friends and family who steady me, and why leadership requires us to build circles where we can be honest, soft, tired, hopeful, and strong in the same breath. This conversation is an invitation to explore your own understanding of resilience. It is a reminder that you can be powerful and weary, strong and tender, grounded and growing. You can fall and rise, and you can take a breath before you do it. And I would love to hear from you. What does resilience plus look like in your own life, and where are you finding the nourishment that helps you stay unshakable?

Send us a textThe ride is more than the route, and this week we prove it—from a hilariously stubborn bathroom repaint to launching our biggest community challenge yet. We kick things off with the small stuff that somehow becomes big stuff, then shift gears into a listener spotlight reveal that lands in Tucker, Georgia, complete with military roots, postwar industry, and a surprising Kansas connection. It's a reminder that every town on a cycling tour has layers, and those layers make the journey memorable. From there, we talk honestly about job hunting in a world of AI recruiters and near-human support bots. It's weird, useful, and worth interrogating. We counter the screen time with winter hiking, clever daily movement, and a few simple habits that keep the body ready for spring rides. Then we swerve into something unforgettable: a Forged in Fire episode where blacksmiths harvest steel from bicycles, craft blades, and test them against bike parts. It's brutal, beautiful, and oddly inspiring for anyone who geeks out about materials, design, and durability. The centerpiece is our BRAG 2026 route-guessing contest.
