Se cercate Phooka lo troverete sicuramente nel suo studio, davanti allo schermo del laptop circondato dalle sue “amate macchine”. Da quando, appena maggiorenne, si trasferisce a Bologna incomincia ad interessarsi alla musica elettronica: Warp, idm e abstract hip hop sono del resto i suoi primi amori. Col passare del tempo, la voglia di trovare nuove “patch” e diversi “beat” lo porta ad evolvere il suo stile, trasformando ogni suo live in una performance sempre diversa ma sempre all’altezza. Decisivo l’incontro con Andrea Sartori, con il quale da vita all’Homework, collettivo nel quale convergeranno artisti come: Touane, Rstone, Shaduz e Ape on Tapes. Negli anni si esibisce in diversi festival (Elettrowave, Dancity Festival, Homework Festival, Play Festival) e club (il Goa a Roma, il Link a Bologna, il Seeone a Londra ecc), dividendo il palco con artisti internazionali quali: Ritchie Hawtin, Pan sonic, Akiko Kiyama, Noze, Kalabrese, Bruno Pronsato, Dasha Rush e molti altri. Trasferitosi a Roma, dopo un’esperienza con la Beatperminute Rec., fonda nel 2010 insieme ad altri artisti la Concrete Records, nuova etichetta indipendente il cui stile non si configura come un punto di arrivo, ma come identità in movimento che si evolve nei diversi generi dell’attuale musica elettronica. After a short break caused by heavy volumes of exciting music to set up both on Metroline and Retrometro, we are finally back with a new podcast! Our guest dj for episode 39 is Gabriele Mancino with a 2 hour mix recorded live at Accademia del Lusso in Palermo in March 2013. Born in Palermo in 1981, fascinated by house music and vinyl, Gabriele Mancino buys his first Turntable in 1999. In the same period he starts to working into his best friends record shop where he can discover many types of new musical genres wich will be fondamental for the creation of his dj set, spacing from deep-house and nu-funk to techno-Detroit. From there he starts his first experiences as Dj in gigs as: Zwischenraum festival (Berlin), Sottomarino giallo (Mi), Binario 1 (Mi), Motorshow festival (Bo), Vola (Ct), Zo (Ct), Native (Me), Movida (Pa), Pascià (Tp), Grog (Cl), Black out (Cl), Wintercase festival(Pa). In 2002 spins the vinyls in the after-party of Jamiroquai concert in Catania and in 2010 is selected for the national event Elettrowave challenge. He starts to work as producer in 2008 for the italian label Recline under the name MAH! also remixed by Francesco Farfa. At the moment he works with differents indipendent labels like Sincopat, Sleep is commercial, Multi Vitamins, Caramella, Yulia. and for some projects with Ricky Montanari, Uglh and Avenir.

The Italian producer duo Sonotheque has submitted first time to Doxa - after releases on Tenax and Safari.
