Gardening isn't static—it evolves as we learn, as plants grow, and as our vision for our outdoor spaces changes. Today's episode tackles the art and science of moving plants within your garden, a skill that frees you to redesign without starting over or breaking the bank.We begin by exploring the foundational principle of "right plant, right place" that should guide your initial planting decisions. Understanding your garden's conditions and matching them to plant requirements can prevent the need for transplanting altogether. But gardens change, and sometimes plants need to find new homes within our spaces. The timing of transplanting proves crucial for success. The dormant season—November through February—offers the ideal window when plants are less susceptible to shock. Perennials like lupins, verbena, and geraniums can be easily moved during this period, while larger woody plants require more careful consideration and technique.Mycorrhizal fungi emerges as the secret weapon for successful transplanting. This natural ally forms a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, increasing their ability to absorb water and nutrients. Applied at planting time, it significantly improves establishment rates and helps mitigate transplant shock. For larger specimens like trees and shrubs, we delve into specific techniques to preserve as much of the root system as possible, reduce top growth to decrease demands on the compromised roots, and provide proper aftercare. Container plants present their own challenges, particularly when root-bound, and we cover how to correct circular root patterns before planting.Whether you're making minor adjustments to perennial placement or undertaking the significant challenge of moving a mature magnolia, understanding these principles and techniques will transform your approach to garden design. Your plants deserve this second chance, and with our guidance, they'll thrive in their new locations.Support the showIf there is any topic you would like covered in future episodes, please let me know. We'd love to hear from you, send us a text about your favorite show!If you've ever felt floaty, emotional, or like there's lingering energy hanging around after a reading, healing session, or deep spiritual work—your container may still be open.As intuitives, healers, and sensitives, we often focus so much on opening up to Spirit, to energy, to messages—that we forget one of the most essential parts: closing. Without a strong close, you're more likely to feel ungrounded, vulnerable, or even energetically scattered. And over time, that can take a real toll on your system. In this episode, we're exploring why a thoughtful closing prayer or ritual is more than just a “nice to have.” It's an energetic boundary. It's integration. It's protection. It helps your nervous system settle, brings your energy field back into balance, and gives you the closure needed to return to everyday life feeling strong and clear. It's essential to your long term health as a spiritual practitioner.Whether you're doing a session for yourself, connecting with Spirit Guides, or holding sacred space for others, you'll find some inspiration to create a closing practice that feels resonant for you.Christina Wooten helps you access the wisdom and support of the Spirit World to elevate your life. She is a Certified Psychic Medium and Reiki Master Teacher. Container rates remained largely unchanged last week despite a drop in freight volumes on most major trade routes. Rates from Asia to the US West Coast ports held steady at $1,700 per FEU, and $2,700 per FEU to East Coast ports, as carriers grapple with demand ahead of China's Golden Week. You can read more about this in "Ocean rates unchanged even as freight volumes decline - FreightWaves". Six individuals were arrested in Louisiana for a scheme to falsely issue Class A Commercial Driver's Licenses without applicants completing the required tests. This conspiracy involved bribes to pass both the knowledge and skills tests, with all six facing charges including conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud. Learn more about this in "Louisiana scheme to obtain class A CDLs without passing tests snags six in sweeping indictment - FreightWaves". A significant contract dispute continues between Canada Post and the union representing 50,000 mail carriers, with no agreement reached since their last meeting in May. Canada Post recently reported its largest-ever quarterly loss of US$294 million pre-tax for the second quarter, stating the union's counter-offer does not address necessary structural changes. For further details, see "Canada Post and union contract divide widens - FreightWaves". Finally, nominations are currently open for the Shipper of Choice Award until September 30th, with winners to be announced on October 20th, ahead of the F3 festival. Every year, Lloyd's List publishes a list of the world's Top 100 container ports. And to mark the release of this year's ranking, we're taking a deep dive in this week's episode to understand the key trends seen across the container sector last year, and work out what the rest of the year has in store. In a year defined by disruption, the world's leading container ports still managed to increase their throughput by 8% - a sharp turnaround from some of the sluggish growth we've become accustomed to in recent years. The geopolitical upheaval shipping has had to deal with in the last 18 months has clearly created some winners, as well as some losers that continue to suffer at the hands of Red Sea rerouting and tariff wars. To download the Lloyd's List Top 100 Ports report, visit www.lloydslist.com/one-hundred-container-ports-2025, where you can see the full list of rankings as well access the data behind it, including regional and country-level analysis.

This week we have...Mike and Bill on Hump Day! Yes, we have plans this weekend, so we recorded early. Not that it matters, but we are telling you either way.Mike kicked things off with his reading and it was about life on life's terms. Things happen (good, bad and indifferent), but how we handle those things is what matters. Do we want to be part of the problem or part of the solution? It was a good talk. We chatted about the Cracker Barrel (who hasn't, right?) and yes, that was the inspiration for "The Caucasian Container" title. Then it was the new season, Marc Maron and free-styling, pure Michigan, Higher Power stuff, good news, perfect is boring, the radio gig wrap up, the F*cking Sober Podcast and grandkids. We mentioned that we have plans this weekend. Mike and Chris are in Alaska and Bill is hanging out with FIB's in the southern part of the FIB state. In this episode, I have an inspiring conversation with James Paul, the founder of Blacque Acres, an indoor hydroponic container farm in Utica, NY. James shares his journey from military service to urban farming, and we'll talk about how he was able to commit to the project without knowing much about container farming or fundraising to make the first container farm a reality. We'll get into how he created buy-in from the community and funders, raising over $200k to start the first farm, and how you don't need to know exactly what you're doing to get started on your big idea. Blacque Acres aims to provide fresh, affordable produce to the Cornhill neighborhood an often overlooked part of the city, addressing food insecurity and promoting community health in the process. James is proving that fresh, affordable produce can be grown year-round in the middle of the city—and that a farm can be about much more than food.

Dr. Angela Logan - Is your spiritual life too spiritual? If the incarnation of Jesus means anything, it's that we don't become holier by being less human. And the abundant life that Jesus came to share with us is one that involves our whole selves as we heal, grow and learn how to flourish. This series will explore some specific examples of a real world spirituality, shared from the experiences of our teachers who are working these things out in real time in their own lives. Through the use of the Parable of the Sower, along with quotes from Pope Leo XIV, Thomas Merton, and Octavia Butler, Dr. Angela shares how she, and we, can reconnect with our spirituality, and God, through a container garden. In this soulful episode of The Money Lighthouse Podcast for Spiritual Entrepreneurs, host Michel Ai Reavis, closes out the July series, Transforming Your Money Relationship Through Your Soul Gifts, with a powerful and timely conversation about the spiritual art of receiving. Titled "Receiving as a Spiritual Practice: Expanding Your Money Container," this episode explores how allowing abundance in — not just money, but love, praise, and support — is a divine act of self-worth and alignment. Michel guides listeners through gentle, soul-nourishing reflections on how to shift from resistance to receptivity, reminding us that receiving is not selfish, but sacred.Through personal stories and inspired wisdom, Michel dives into the energetic and emotional blocks many spiritual entrepreneurs face when it comes to receiving. She introduces the concept of the "money container" and explains how our capacity to hold abundance is often shaped by inherited beliefs, nervous system responses, and internalized limitations. From lottery winners to ancestral patterns, she paints a relatable and compassionate picture of how money discomfort can show up — and more importantly, how it can be healed. With practical suggestions like nervous system regulation, hypnosis, and presence practices, listeners are encouraged to gently stretch their comfort zones and expand their energetic capacity for more.As the episode closes, Michel offers a beautiful affirmation, journal prompts, and a simple action step to help listeners integrate receiving as a daily practice. She lovingly reminds spiritual entrepreneurs that their mission thrives not in depletion, but in overflow — and that they are worthy of every good thing the Universe longs to give them. This episode is a soul-filled invitation to soften, to open, and to step into the fullness of divine support. A must-listen for any heart-led healer or visionary ready to embrace the sacred balance of giving and receiving without guilt, shame, or judgment.Contact:michel@moneylighthouse.com
Container images are increasingly being used as the main method for software deployment, so ensuring the reproducibility of container images is becoming a critical step in protecting the software supply chain. In practice, however, builds are often not reproducible due to elements of the build environment that rely on nondeterministic factors such as timestamps and external dependencies. Lack of reproducibility can lead to lack of trust, broken builds, and possibly mask hidden malware insertion. Vessel, a recent tool from the Carnegie Mellon University Software Institute (SEI), helps developers identify the difference between two container images to help sort benign from problematic issues. In this SEI Podcast, Kevin Pitstick, a senior software engineer at the SEI and Vessel's lead developer, and Lihan Zhan, a software engineer at the SEI working on tactical and AI-enabled systems, sit down with Grace Lewis, lead of the Tactical and AI-Enabled Systems (TAS) applied research and development team at the SEI, to discuss the Vessel tool, its development, and application in mission-critical settings.

“I try to be really open to anything that comes my way,” says bestselling author Bonnie Tsui. Her newest book, On Muscle, isn't a memoir, but it begins with her recounting her father encouraging her and her brother to “make a muscle.” Tsui appears in many sections of the book interacting with the various characters she introduces. Yet it's not a book explicitly about her, and if there's a main character it's probably human muscle. In this episode we speak with Tsui to find the right balance of personal storytelling, history, science, experts and interesting characters. Plus why poetry is a part of her research and the value of pulling multiple disciplines into her writing.Bonnie Tsui is a longtime contributor to The New York Times and the author of the new book On Muscle: The Stuff That Moves Us and Why It Matters—a vivid, thought-provoking celebration of musculature and one of the most anticipated books of the year; it is currently being translated into six languages. Her bestselling books include Why We Swim, a New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice and a Time magazine and NPR Best Book of the Year, and American Chinatown, which won the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. Her work has been recognized and supported by Harvard University, the National Press Foundation, the Mesa Refuge, and the Best American Essays series. She lives, swims, and surfs in the San Francisco Bay Area.Links:Website www.bonnietsui.comInstagram www.instagram.com/bonnietsui8https://www.bonnietsui.com/Rosemerry's new album, Risking Love videos or on SpotifyGrand Mesa Writer's Symposium This is a public episode. It may be not much to look at, but the unassuming shipping container has had a massive impact on the global economy since its invention in the 1950s. The story of its rise as the dominant form of shipping is filled with dramatic turns and insights into the explosion of globalization. Marc Levinson is a journalist, economist, and a former senior fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations. His books like, The Box: How the Shipping Container Made the World Smaller and the World Economy Bigger and Outside the Box: How Globalization Changed from Moving Stuff to Spreading Ideas explore the complex economic history and unexpected impact of how goods make their way around the world. Marc and Greg discuss the labor-intensive nature of shipping before containerization, the union battles, regulatory hurdles, and the economic implications of adopting a standardized container. They also examine the unforeseen consequences of global supply chains and the evolving power dynamics between shippers and transporters.*unSILOed Podcast is produced by University FM.*Episode Quotes:The hidden globalization behind modern trade47:48: The value of international trade of exports and imports is really based on transactions. Okay? One party is selling something to another party, and there is a price for that transaction. But what happens when you're looking at something on the internet? You're not paying any money to do that. You're just sitting at your computer. You do not know that the server that's offering you that page on the internet is actually based in a different country. That's an international exchange. It's not—there's not a transaction. This is not recorded as international trade, but it is. It's quite common now within large companies to have research operations in several countries. The researchers talk to one another all the time. They send each other emails all the time. And those ideas have economic benefit, but they do not have value that can be captured by national statistics. So we're having a much harder time keeping track of what is going on.The unsung heroes behind global trade28:27: The real heroes in the container story, I think, are the engineers from the ship lines and the container manufacturers and other companies who spent 10 years literally sitting in smoke-filled rooms, negotiating over things like: How many supports should there be inside the container? How thick should the end walls be? What should the door hinges look like? All of this seems really trivial, but economically, it made a big difference to the different companies...It made a difference to the cost of the container. How companies are rethinking trade risk41:08: I think companies have really devoted a lot more effort in the past couple of years to understanding how their supply chains work and looking for vulnerabilities. There are a couple of basic choices that they have got. One is that they can just keep more inventory, keep more stuff in the warehouse here in the States. Well, that is costly. First, you have to pay for it, and then you have to pay to store it. And it may go out of date depending upon what business you are in. But that is one way of reducing this riskShow Links:Recommended Resources:Malcom McLeanJohn R.
