The other day I was watching a video from a health coach where in it, she was sharing her opinion of what helps her maintain her youthful glow and clear skin. And somewhere through the video, it struck me just how much we keep preaching the same things over and over again to basically the same audience as well.Regardless of where you turn or who you ask advice from, the answers will usually always be the same; eat a healthy and balanced diet avoiding junk foods and too much sugar, prioritise quality sleep, make sure you manage your stress levels, move your body and move it daily and drink plenty of water.Have your say and leave a comment on the blog at www.conversationswithzahra.co.uk
Today’s episode is about what you can do to get the most out of the month of Ramadan or how you can potentially spend less time on things that don’t matter so you can focus on the things that do.So this year, I’ve decided to take a bit of a hiatus from Instagram. I would have loved to say social media in general but unfortunately, I think that would do more harm than good to my business. And since I don’t use Instagram for anything other than just for the fun of it, but it still tends to take up a lot of my time every day, I thought it would be a great place to start when it comes to taking a full break.Have your say in this conversation by leaving a comment on the blog at conversationswithzahra.co.uk
This is a topic I’ve had to learn to get comfortable talking about in the last five or so years because of the industry I’m in – when people come to see me to get personal training or help with their diets, many of them talk about lacking motivation or seeking my help because they feel motivated to do the work. And that’s all very nice and well except, many times, I believe that when people come in to see me they have a very unhealthy relationship with motivation in the first place. And to be honest, this goes for many other people as well, not just for the ones whom I work with.Take part in the conversation here: www.conversationswithzahra.co.uk
Today I want to talk to you about knowledge versus action – do you need more knowledge in your life or do you need to take more action? This is a question that I’ve been faced with a lot in my professional life as an entrepreneur and self-starter when it comes to running my own business as a one-woman band – having to wear different hats and often having to learn how to do things and learn things as and when they come. But I’ve also encountered it a lot as a health coach when I work with clients – in my work, how much new information am I actually giving my clients and how much is it just about helping them to apply what the already know so that they can reach their goals successfully.

If you listened in to my podcast last week, you’ll know that the last episode was all about how you can start to prepare your body for Ramadan, which at the time of recording this episode is just about 6 weeks away. And in that episode, I spoke a little about getting comfortable with being active during the hours when you fast. And today I want to talk a little more in depth about this subject because I know that a lot of people are very hesitant and worried about working out during the month of Ramadan. So if you’re interested in knowing how to exercise safely while you’re fasting, this episode was made for you!Do you have something to say about this subject or maybe you just want to give me some general feedback - hop on over to the blog on conversationswithzahra.co.uk and leave it there - I look forward to hearing from you!
Last week I shared an episode with you about the 10 things you need to know about weight loss and I really enjoyed creating the episode for you and laying down some truths that I’m hoping were helpful.Today I want to do the same but this time, I thought I’d share some truths about fitness and exercising. So sit back, relax and hopefully, enjoy what I’m about to share with you.Share your thoughts and comments about this episode over on the blog by visiting conversationswithzahra.co.uk - I look forward to hearing from you!
Simply because I enjoyed recording the previous episode about the 5 worst excuses not to exercise, I thought it would be fun to do the same format but for healthy eating this time. And this one, I have to admit, was slightly different because when it comes to food and our relationships with it, it can be difficult to manoeuvre around the topic at times. But I've done my best to debunk the 5 worst excuses I've heard as to why people don't eat a healthier diet. What do you think about this episode? I have heard many excuses from people as to why they don't exercise, but there are some that I genuinely consider to be the worst, and today I'm sharing those with you. In case you're wondering, I generally have a low bullshit tolerance so if some of this sounds harsh to you, that's ok - but I still hope you can take away something helpful from the episode. What is the worst excuse you have heard or used yourself?Let me know by leaving me a comment on my website www.conversationwithzahra.co.uk
I've spent the last few years trying to figure out why most of us are so bad at looking after our healths. Working as a health coach I've had a first-hand experience and insight into how people's minds work and through this I've come to the conclusions I'm sharing with you in todays episode. These are not scientifically proven theories or university researched ideas - they're simply my own thoughts on this subject that I hope can help inspire you to stop prioritising too many things above your health. I'd love to hear what you think about this subject so please do leave me a comment on my website by visiting www.conversationswithzahra.co.uk and have your say. And if you have nothing to say on the subject, I'd appreciate it if you could take a moment to leave me a review on this podcast or help spread the word of it by telling a friend about it. One of the biggest reasons why I wanted to start this podcast was because I wanted to talk about some of the realities of what it means to be a Muslim woman in the Western world today. It's not always the easiest subjects to talk about because for many people, these subjects are emotionally charged, very personal and often, even to the people who do not take part in the religion, loaded with personal opinions and assumptions. For me, being a Muslim woman in public who doesn't wear the hijab and openly speaks up about why I don't, I've often come across resistance around the way I choose to live my life. In this episode I want to have a conversation about why I believe it's toxic to only give value to the hijab when it comes to Muslim women. You can find the YouTube video I talk about here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-dOxZLB0LE
