Why do complete strangers online make you angrier than people you actually know? We're living in algorithmic echo chambers where billion-dollar tech companies profit from our rage while we argue about shit that doesn't matter. Meanwhile, Charlie Kirk's death spawned government censorship, proving we've lost the ability to tell minor grievances from existential crises. In this episode, learn how to escape the digital outrage machine that's hijacking your mental health. Discover why real-world conversations feel so different from online battles. Get practical tools to recognize bot manipulation and algorithmic targeting before they radicalize your thinking. My heart feels so heavy right now. Everywhere I turn, whether it's Facebook, X, or even LinkedIn, I see a wave of social media toxicity and division that leaves me feeling drained and heartbroken. It seems like we've forgotten how to have conversations. Instead, we're caught in an endless cycle of outrage, cancel culture, and online attacks that end up damaging not just our relationships but also our personal and professional reputations. We will talk about that in today's episode of The Ripple Effect Podcast. The truth is, the world feels more divided than ever in 2025, and the weight of global anxiety is showing up in how we treat each other online. When we post without thinking, when we lash out in anger, we're not just releasing stress in the moment, but also creating lasting damage to our brands, our businesses, and our own mental health. I don't have a magic solution, but I do believe we can choose differently. We can choose kindness when it feels easier to fight. We can lean into curiosity instead of judgment. We can create positive Ripples instead of amplifying the negativity that's already out there. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the noise online or worried about how what you post today might impact your future, listen until the end. I hope that it gives you perspective, maybe even a little hope, and reminds you that the Ripples we put into the world matter more than we think.

This week on Imagination State, we are joined by Amelia Hruby - feminist writer, podcaster, and creator of Off the Grid, a podcast and community for people reclaiming their attention from social media. With Off the Grid and as the founder of Softer Sounds, Amelia helps artists and entrepreneurs build thriving creative lives beyond the extractive attention economies of social media. A former philosophy professor and the author of Fifty Feminist Mantras, Amelia's work spans feminist philosophy, digital well-being, and spiritual practice. In our conversation, Amelia revisits her imagination origins, from her early days in North Carolina to Chicago, where activism, feminist theory, and community radio reshaped her worldview and creative practice. She shares how she came to see social media as fundamentally misaligned with her values of liberation, gentleness, and integrity and what happened when she finally decided to leave. We talk about imagination and attention: what we lose when we outsource our creativity to platforms, what opens up when we escape, and how podcasts and voice can create spaces of connection that resist the flattening effects of screen living. This episode is for anyone who has ever wondered what we give up when we spend one month of every year in billionaire-controlled social media landscapes, and what becomes possible when we step into a different world altogether.Imagination Invitation:Amelia invites you to keep a “should diary.” For one day, write down every time you think I should… or I shouldn't. Then revisit the list to notice which “shoulds” are truly yours, and which come from systems and expectations outside of you. This is a self-liberation invitation.Mentioned:Amelia Hruby's podcast: Off the GridOff the Grid theme song by Melissa Kaitlyn CarterSofter Sounds, Amelia's feminist podcast studioAmelia's first book Fifty Feminist MantrasAmelia's upcoming book (Fall 2025) Your Attention is Sacred Except on Social MediaIdeas? Zac and Jay are keeping it in-house this time, pulling back the curtain on the podcast's growth and the community they're working to build. With a plant doling out life lessons and Zac's self-imposed social media ban (for now), they dive into how stepping back from the online world has been a game-changer for his mental health. They also get real about marijuana – why it's not always as harmless as it seems, especially for younger people. Plus, they discuss the work it takes to break bad habits, find joy, and take care of yourself, even when life gets busy.Connect with Zachttps://www.instagram.com/zwclark/https://www.linkedin.com/in/zac-c-746b96254/https://www.tiktok.com/@zacwclarkhttps://www.strava.com/athletes/55697553https://twitter.com/zacwclarkIf you or anyone you know is struggling, please do not hesitate to contact Release Recovery:(914) 588-6564releaserecovery.com@releaserecovery

Do we have savings? Other skills we can fall back on? Are we freaking out about this at all?Monthly coaching has been so valuable for our customers, why would we stop doing it?We talk about running a “calm business” does this completely change how calm things will be for us?Why should someone buy WAIM Unlimited during this last chance to purchase? How do you really know when it's time to move on from an offer you've built your business around? In this episode, we're sharing the four indicators that helped us make the decision to wind down WAIM Unlimited—insights we hope will help you reflect on your own path.We dive into:What it feels like to fall out of love with your offer (and why that's not a failure)When your results no longer match your effort—and why that's worth paying attention toHow a strong pull toward something new can be a signal, not just a distractionWhy shifting life circumstances (hello, parenthood!) require more sustainable, aligned business modelsIf you've been feeling stuck, disconnected, or daydreaming about a new chapter, this one's for you. We'll help you ask the questions that matter and maybe, just maybe, give you the nudge to take that leap.
After six incredible years, we've decided to retire our flagship program, WAIM Unlimited (after one FINAL upcoming launch). In this episode, we're walking you through exactly why we're making this sizable change. Retiring WAIM Unlimited didn't come from burnout or panic… but from clarity, alignment, and a desire to move into our next chapter with intention. We've been business coaches for 72 months and we're excited to take things in a new direction! Here's what we cover in this ep:What a final enrollment will look like (May/June 2025)The real (and nuanced) reasons we're making this shift—from changing buyer behavior to our own creative evolutionWhat this means for current WAIM members (spoiler: NOT MUCH!)What the next 12 months will look like for us, including our final launch and plans for parental leaveA glimpse at what we're pivoting toward in 2026—and why we're genuinely excited to build from the ground up againThis episode is for anyone who's questioning a long-standing offer or wondering if it's time to let go of something that no longer fits.
