Celebrate 15 years of Autoline on this week’s edition of After Hours! We’re having a party to commemorate our anniversary and you’re invited alongside some of our illustrious guests including: Mustafa Mohatarem, General Motors’ Chief Economist; Mark Fields, the President, Americas of Ford; and author Margery Krevsky with a couple of her “Sirens of Chrome.” We’ll be talking about some of the changes we’ve seen in the industry over the last decade and a half, and we’ll take a look back at some of the notable interviews we’ve conducted over time. Have a listen or sit down and watch this very special edition of Autoline After Hours!
The Pill box hat, the Mini skirt and the Little Black Dress along with hood ornaments, mood lighting and tail fins. What all six of these obviously different elements have in common are fashion. They just happen to be from two divergent universes: Women’s clothing and automobile design. However, there are times that they cross paths and have done so for 50, 60 some 70 years. And that place is the auto show. The same environment that author Margery Krevsky captures in her book “Sirens of Chrome.” On this week’s Autoline John McElroy talks to Ms. Krevsky and fashion consultant Karen Buscemi about the intersection of automotive and fashion. And don’t miss Autoline’s own Fashion Show where four professional product specialists, as they’re called, model some of the great historic dresses from auto shows past.

This week the AAH studio is transformed into a swinging boutique as we take a look back at the history of auto show models with author Margery Krevsky. Margery wrote the book "Sirens of Chrome," which details the transformation of models into knowledgeable product specialists. We'll be getting a look at some vintage outfits from the past 50 years, modeled by contemporary product specialists. These are the dresses that stood alongside cars such as John Lennon's Flower Power Rolls-Royce, the Ford Sunliner and Pontiac Firebird. Per usual, we'll also be getting into the news of the week. John McElroy is joined in studio by the Autoextremist, Peter De Lorenzo.
