THE ACTOR-EMPEROR AND THE SHIFT FROM DIGNITAS TO INTIMACY Colleagues Gaius and Germanicus, Friends of History Debating Society, Londinium, 91 AD. In this session, set against the backdrop of a cold winter in Londinium, Gaius and Germanicus explore the evolution of the imperial persona, drawing sharp parallels between the Roman Emperor Nero and modern American figures Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. Germanicus argues that the essential skill of the modern "emperor" is the capacity to create an intimate emotional connection with the populace, a transformation that began with Teddy Roosevelt's dramatic speeches but was fully realized by Franklin D. Roosevelt's "fireside chats." While Roman emperors like Augustus relied on dignitas, stoicism, and an aura of divinity, the American tradition demands that the leader embody the "passions and authenticity of the people." Donald Trump is identified as the culmination of this trend, possessing an "intense capacity to connect emotionally," which allows him to survive overwhelming opposition, unlike Clinton, whose "genius is fled" in his later years. Brian BonsallTake a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Brian Bonsall. When Brian was very young, he joined the cast of the hit television show Family Ties, where he played Andy for over 80 episodes. Brian was also on several other shows including Star Trek: The Next Generation; before jumping onto the big screen with films like: 'Mikey', 'Father and Scout', and my personal favorite 'Blank Check'. About the age of 14 or so, Brian moved on from acting. He went to school, moved across the country, and discovered punk & pop punk music. He fell in love instantly with the genre. In this episode, we chat about some of those acting projects, and how he came to be in the industry in the first place. We talk about why he left the industry, and what he found in music. Brian discusses some of the bands he has been part of including Bootjack & Bons, Sunset Silhouette, and his newest endeavor Lights In The Sky. He also shares fun stories about some of the musical opportunities that have come his way; including playing with The Ataris, and even getting to play in Las Vegas at the When We Were Young Tour, the largest audience he has ever played in front of. Along the way, we deep dive into several different aspects of his storied career. From child actor and star to redemption story, to husband, father, and family man. Brian graciously allows me to play a couple of songs from two of his bands, I love them, and I think you will too! Lastly, Brian openly discusses the amazing Courtney, his wife. He fills us in on some recent health scares with her, and how she is doing these days. She is his ROCK. It was an absolute delight to speak with this remarkable and resilient dude. I can't wait to have him back on the show.

The GURU has a heavy-heart with the announcement of the end of the road for the CBS / Infinity sports network. For the past thirteen years, we have been entertained by a long host of great people that made this network what it is today. At the end of the month, the microphone will be silent, and the Infinity signs will be taken down and be replaced with a new company. Most of the host will not be apart of the new regime, but we cannot forget the people that made this network a vital part of our lives. I'm sad, upset, frustrated, pissed, and really fucked up over this. I will never forget or turn my back on everyone at this network. This is a tragedy and like having a DEATH IN THE FAMILY. GOD BLESS CBS / INFINITY. There are two people that we had to say goodbye to this week. Singer Carl Carlton and Actor, Director, Producer, and political activist Rob Reiner. Thank you for listening, and enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend. We will be back next week with Episode 299.

In this episode of the Italian American Podcast, Pat and co-host Mariana Gatto share a lighthearted and engaging conversation with actor and producer Antonio Cupo. A Canadian who spent ten years working in Rome, Cupo is best known for his roles in Hallmark Christmas films and is in the New York area for Christmas Con in New Jersey, where he is connecting with fans and celebrating the holiday film season. Cupo explains that while he began his career primarily as an actor, his work has increasingly shifted toward producing over the past decade. He attributes this change to Hallmark's high volume of productions, which naturally creates ongoing opportunities to develop and produce Christmas-themed romantic comedies. He describes Hallmark movies as intentionally simple, uplifting, and designed to provide comfort and escapism without heavy themes. The discussion expands to the broader appeal of predictable, feel-good entertainment, contrasting it with the frustrations of modern streaming platforms and expressing nostalgia for a simpler television era. The segment concludes with Cupo noting that acting was not his original goal and that he entered the industry gradually through classes and small early roles. Actor, activist, and “Being Jewish” podcast host Jonah Platt joins Mosheh for a wide-ranging conversation about Jewish identity, politics, culture, and the intense pressures facing American Jews after October 7th. Platt reflects on the fear, confusion, and polarization running through the community, and why so much of today's antisemitism shows up not through slurs or symbols, but through omissions, framing, and coded language around Israel. He argues that this moment requires clarity, context, and calm engagement — not panic and not denial. The episode also explores the creation of Platt's podcast 'Being Jewish,' which aims to expand how people understand Jewishness — as a people, culture, history, and set of values, not just a religion. Platt takes listeners inside Hollywood, an industry where many Jews have had to historically hide their identity. He also talks about the impact of October 7, and why some are now pushing forward Jewish and Israeli stories despite fear of backlash. Also in the interview: Breaking down where Jewish institutions have fallen short in educating younger generations about Israel, and how better storytelling could counter both misinformation and apathy. Mosheh Oinounou (@mosheh) is an Emmy and Murrow award-winning journalist. He has 20 years of experience at networks including Fox News, Bloomberg Television and CBS News, where he was the executive producer of the CBS Evening News and launched the network's 24 hour news channel. He founded the @mosheh Instagram news account in 2020 and the Mo News podcast and newsletter in 2022.

Timestamp to skip the intro: (11:00) Welcome back to another episode of the True Crime Society Podcast. In this episode we discuss two separate cases of missing celebrities: Joseph Pichler was a child star, best known for his roles in films such as Varsity Blues, Beethoven's 3rd and Beethoven's 4th. In 2006, Joseph's vehicle was found abandoned in Washington State with a note indicating that his belongings should go to his brother. Now, 19 years later, Joseph remains missing. Musician Richey Edwards was part of the British band ‘Manic Street Preachers.' Richey had a documented history of mental health and addiction struggles. Once when he was questioned about being serious about his music, he carved the words ‘4 Real' into his arm with a razor blade. The injury required 18 stitches. In February 2005, Richey was due to leave London to fly to the United States to begin a press tour. Instead, he left behind some of his belongings in his hotel and drove back to his apartment in Cardiff, Wales. Over the next few weeks, there were reported sightings of Richey in that country. His car would later be found abandoned near a bridge. Reported sightings of Richey have come from India and Spain. Richey has now been missing for over 20 years. She meets Ian at the bar and lets him think she's wealthy. He's actually a secretary posing as nobility while managing a royal jewels exhibit.AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR A SUITE HOLIDAY ROMANCEDecember 13 2025 | Hallmark ChannelCAST & CREW OF A SUITE HOLIDAY ROMANCEJessy Schram as SabrinaDominic Sherwood as IanBRAN'S A SUITE HOLIDAY ROMANCE SYNOPSISWe learn about the Cordelia books by Hazel Holly, a beloved series that has been read by many and adored by all. We meet Sabrina, a writer who penned a glowing piece about the books. As a result, she's chosen to ghostwrite a memoir and is put up at the Grand Fairbanks Hotel in the legendary Cordelia Suite — a very big deal. She meets Grayson Westcott, the man who hired her. She'll be interviewing him about his life as an art broker and writing his memoir, but she only has until Christmas Eve to gather everything she needs. One night, while working late, Sabrina craves a sandwich. She calls down to the bar, runs in, and starts eating the first sandwich she sees — which turns out to belong to Ian, who's sitting nearby. He doesn't mind at all and clearly wants to keep talking, but the bar is closing. Maybe another time. The next day, Sabrina continues interviewing Grayson and learns that he was once Hazel Holly's butler at this very hotel. He's hesitant to talk about that part of his life, but when he opens up, she's completely captivated.Later, she runs into Ian again and they grab coffee. He tells her he works for a charity and that it's his first time in the city. What Sabrina doesn't know is that he actually works for the royal family — something he's keeping very quiet. After overhearing a conversation at dinner, she mistakenly assumes he is royalty. Could he be Lord Braxton? She keeps her suspicions to herself as they continue spending time together and sparks fly.Ian suddenly has to leave town to make sure Lord Braxton doesn't marry a woman he just met. They reunite at the Christmas ball, where they dance and share a magical evening — until Ian notices Lord Braxton leaving early and has to follow him. He does return for a kiss first, though. Sabrina is both smitten and increasingly frustrated by how Ian disappears without warning. For various reasons, Sabrina never quite asks him outright if he's Lord Braxton, and Ian never tells her that he works for the royal family. When she joins him at a charity event, she's having a great time — until she spots a jewelry box in his bag. Lord Braxton is known for proposing quickly… is Ian about to propose to her?During a dinner date, Sabrina finally admits she thinks he's Lord Braxton — but before Ian can explain, he's called away again. After hearing more of Grayson's story, Sabrina decides to end things before Ian can break her heart. Grayson is baffled and basically says, “How on earth did you get that from my story?!”Sabrina attends a gala and finally learns the truth: Ian is not Lord Braxton. Overwhelmed, she storms out. After more conversations with Grayson, he encourages her to rethink everything.Speaking of Grayson, Sabrina reunites him with his long-lost love, Charlotte — who is Lady Braxton. Grayson insists he's too old for love, but Sabrina shuts that down immediately. They rush to see each other, and it's beautiful.Sabrina races to find Ian, but she's told he's already left for the airport — except he hasn't. He stayed because he's fallen for her. He gives her the jewelry box, revealing not an engagement ring, but a snowflake necklace. They talk things through, make up, and he tells her he's moving to the States to expand the charity. They kiss — big ones. The movie ends with Grayson and Lady Braxton getting married. At their wedding, we see that Ian and Sabrina are engaged. She talks with Grayson more and he encoruages her to think about things a bit more. Speaking of Grayson, she ends up finding Grayson his long lost love charlotte. she's lady braxton. he's like oh i know that, but i'm too old for this ish. She's like NO! You're never too old for love. They rush down to see each other and it's wonderful. And Sabrina rushes to find Ian. But she's too late. He's already left for the airport. Except, HE NEVER LEFT! He says he's fallen for her and then he gives her the jewlery box...it's not an engagement ring at all. It's a snowflake necklace. they talk and make up. he tells her he's moving there to bring the charity to the states. and they kiss big ones! The movie ends with Grayson and Lady Braxton getting married.
