Mid-escape from their mountain prison, the group prepare for a fight as footsteps can be heard rushing to the oculus room. Meanwhile Pip seeks out an old friend for help reuniting with the rest of the party, Spine's assistant Teffus Darkplace. Roll Over and Die is a Dungeons and Dragons 5e actual play series where some of the team behind MCM Comic Con get together every week and play D&D Fifth Edition, specifically a homebrew campaign written by our very own MCM graphic designer turned DM Tim Bates. The regular gang is back this week, as is Pip’s famous cold voice. We’re still on a bit of a GameCity warm down, with Tom and Erica taking the chance to talk Titan Souls and Pushmi Pullyu from the final party. Meanwhile Pip has been playing Schein and Destiny and Erica has been trying her […]
This week we’re joined by the smooth DJ tones of Alice O’Connor of Rock Paper Shotgun, who tells us about the shocking twist ending of Hypnospace Enforcer, and gives us her own peculiar take on the demo for Fifa 15. Meanwhile Pip has been betraying her native Dota 2 for the friendly embrace of League of Legends, causing Tom to show off how little he knows about lane pushing games. Tom on the other hand, has been getting his arse thouroughly (and proceedurally) kicked by Invisible Inc. Show notes are inside....(Read more...)

This week perennial guest Laura Kate Dale returns to talk us through the highs, lows and generic mediums of the Gamescom press conferences. We liked Wild, Shadow Realms and Sony’s streaming plans, we did not enjoy the continued abuse of the word ‘exclusive’. After that Laura tells us about windmilling furiously in Mount Your Friends, while Tom tries to explain why curves are unpredictable in Towerfall (he failed geometry). Meanwhile Pip has been getting to grips with Dark Souls, raising the question, at what point does challenging minimalism just become bad game design? The Show notes, as ever are inside....(Read more...)
We’re back with a two person cast today, recording on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Tom has been going sailing mad, exploring the eloquent ocean of Sunless Sea, collecting tales of terror and Sly Navigators, while simultaneously singing sea shanties in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag which has awesome boats and a bunch of bullshit. Meanwhile Pip […]
