While on business in Nagoya, Japan, Paul Racine (Christopher Lambert) hooks up with Kirina (Joan Chen) who is a million times out of his league. He later returns to her hotel room just in time to witness a ninja assassination on her life and the ninja cult leader Kinjo's (John Lone) unmasked face. A samurai couple, Takeda (Yoshio Harada) and Mieko (Yoko Shimada), attempt to help Paul. He's being HUNTED! But, in reality, Paul becomes bait to lure Kinjo out. Who will be victorious? RTS shares a bottle of saké with Oshima (Tak Kubota). They wake up with so much folded steel. Jeremy witnesses some ninja carnage on a train. He pours himself a large glass of Suntory whisky off to the side. La-Mar arrives with many metal briefcases and many shuriken. Collin finds the ninja spawn points and turns them off. As simple as that! Put on your piggy underwear, pick up a rusty sword and get ready for battle.

Three New York kids, Tommy (Aeryk Egan), Bill (Bo Sharon) and Freddie (Darris Love), are getting bullied by the local street toughs, the Vipers. Tommy films their crimes and hands it over to the cops. The Vipers, led by Vinnie (A.J. Damato), do not like this at all. They are ordered by crime boss Big Moe (Meg Foster) to take the kids out. They do! Luckily, Mr. Sumatra (Julius Harris) uses his Haitian voodoo magic to turn them into avenging shrunken heads that have powers (of sorts) and fly all around the city fighting crime. Also, Tommy reconnects with his love, Sally (Rebecca Herbst). Can this romance work out? RTS discovers their own voodoo priest powers and invests in a full living room cauldron. Mike got shrunk! La-Mar puts on a suit and handles things the Haitian way. Collin does things with a switchblade that will make your head spin. In the end, New York will be safe and super weird.

This week, Aebhric O'Kelly is joined by Jason Jarvis, a former US Army Special Forces medic, tropical medicine educator, and researcher, for a practical discussion of malaria management in remote and resource-limited environments. Jason reviews the malaria parasite life cycle and explains why understanding the liver and blood stages is important when selecting treatment. The discussion covers current management with artemether–lumefantrine (Coartem) for uncomplicated malaria and IV artesunate for severe disease.Prevention remains essential. Jason discusses bed nets, repellents and chemoprophylaxis, including Malarone, doxycycline and mefloquine, along with the advantages and adverse effects of each.The centrepiece of the episode is cabamiquine–pyronaridine. Jason discusses the recent Phase 2a research and two particularly exciting possibilities: single-dose treatment and potential activity against multiple stages of the malaria parasite. If subsequent trials support these findings, this could significantly simplify malaria treatment, particularly in remote settings where adherence to multi-dose regimens can be difficult. Jason also emphasises that cabamiquine remains investigational and requires further clinical evaluation. Westwood Studios wasn't always known for the command and conquer series. While 1992's Dune 2 laid the foundation for the RTS genre as a whole, they were more famous for their dungeon crawling RPGS, usually associated with Dungeons and Dragons. So when they decided to develop a new IP with Lands of Lore, they were coming to it as grizzled veterans, and they had no intention of messing around. It was released to near universal acclaim. Critics praised near everything about it - graphics, combat, puzzles, even the UI. It was considered to be less cruel than other dungeon crawlers, less punishing and with greater clarity when it came to puzzles and enemies. But this was 1993. The genre that Lands of Lore belongs to is very nearly dead, with only the indie scene keeping it alive by the skin of its teeth. As the genre developed, slow and methodical dungeon crawling was trumped by real time demon slaying, something that even the sequels to the game were not immune to. The friction of delving into a dungeon where death lay at every turn, and confusion reigned is something that we see very rarely today. Is this with good reason? Have we moved on from what Lands of Lore has to offer? Or is it still worth playing all these years later? On this episode, we discuss:UI. Lands of Lore has a very unique UI, with heavy use of screen space dedicated to inventory and spells and only a relatively small window showing you the real time action of what your party is doing. Does this offer excellent functionality, or is it just a bunch of wasted space for no good reason?Combat. Combat is turned based, but movement is real time. Attacking and spellcasting are tied to cooldowns, but using items is not. Enemies chase you in pods when aggroed, but you are free to rest and heal to full at any point. Do the contradictions in the combat systems of Lands of Lore exist for a reason, or does it just become a complete mess? Level Design. Lands of Lore's dungeons are elaborate mazes, filled to the brim with traps, treasure and buttons. Progressing through them is difficult, it's easy to get lost or stuck, and much of the environments look the same. Is this part of the fundamental experience of playing a dungeon crawler, and part of the fun, or is it simply an exercise in frustration? She recently graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta with her M.Div and a Certificate of Bible and Ethnicity from the Edimston Center at RTS. Becca served on Rooted's Steering Committee in the early years and loves getting to be a part of all things Rooted Ministry. She is currently working in the field of crisis management and relational reconciliation in the Church, partnering with those who are in need of meditation and healing in order to proclaim the gospel clearly and boldly. Becca has a passion for helping Church leaders be not only theologically trained, but to be gospel-centered leaders who lead with integrity, humility, and wholeheartedness. Il fête ses 70 ans ce dimanche. Depuis près d'un demi-siècle, Ismaël Lô fait voyager sa musique bien au-delà du Sénégal, avec des chansons comme « Tajabone » ou « Jammu Africa ». Il revient avec nous sur son parcours, ses chansons et cette envie de continuer à créer. Il répondait aux questions de Clothilde Hazard. RFI : Ismaël Lô, vous fêtez vos 70 ans ce dimanche, quand vous regardez votre carrière, aujourd'hui, une carrière de près de 50 ans. Quel sentiment avez-vous ? Ismaël Lô : Un sentiment de satisfaction et de rendre grâce aussi à Allah qui m'a donné cette possibilité d'exister, de continuer à aimer ce que je fais, c'est à dire évoluer dans le domaine de la musique. Est ce qu'il y a un souvenir qui vous revient en premier quand vous regardez votre parcours ? Ce qui me vient en premier, c'est mon premier passage à la télévision, le premier jour, j'avais un trac fou. J'étais au studio de la RTS avec Maguette Wade, un animateur de la télévision sénégalaise et l'émission s'appelait Télé Variétés, c'était mon premier passage à la télévision. J'étais juste passé en tant qu'artiste et j'avais très peur à l'époque de passer à la télévision. C'est la musique qui est venue à moi. Parce que, au départ, moi je me fixais comme objectif d'avoir une carrière similaire à mon père qui était un douanier. Je pensais que je serai médecin ou quelque chose dans ce genre. Et finalement, je me suis donné à la musique. Et au début de votre carrière internationale, quand vous êtes allé à la rencontre du public en dehors du Sénégal, qu'avez-vous avez ressenti vous en souvenez-vous ? Là, je me plonge vraiment, vraiment très loin à ma première sortie en France, en Europe. J'avais la volonté de rencontrer des gens, de voir le voisin de palier, dire bonjour. Mais ce n'était pas la même culture. Et ça m'a bouleversé, parce que les gens couraient de gauche à droite. C'était limite, ton voisin tu lui dis bonjour, il ne te répond même pas. En France, on court beaucoup. Et donc j'ai commencé à apprendre à vivre différemment, me dire que si je ne connais pas quelqu'un, je ne lui dis pas bonjour. J'ai tout de suite eu envie de retourner chez moi, parce que là-bas, il y a l'hospitalité, les gens sont ouverts, il y a de l'ambiance. J'ai composé une chanson qui signifiait « j'ai envie de retourner chez moi », Xalat. Et sur la naissance de ce tube mondial Tajabone. Avez-vous une anecdote ? Tajabone, c'est le début de l'année musulmane. Je me rappelle quand nous étions petits, dans le quartier, c'était la fête. Après le couscous, le dîner le soir, on se déguisait. En général, si je me rappelle bien, les hommes se déguisaient en femme, les femmes en homme. Ce sont des choses qui m'ont marqué et donc qui m'ont poussé à écrire une chanson sur ce jour mémorable. Mais aujourd'hui, ce titre me fascine et me dépasse. Parce que la chanson Tajabone est mondialement connue. Y-a-t-il d'autres morceaux dont vous êtes fier avec le recul ? Je suis fier de toutes mes chansons. C'est comme si vous me demandiez si je suis plus fier de tel ou tel enfant. Mes compositions sont comme mes enfants. Et donc c'est vrai qu'il y a des enfants qui ont plus de chance que d'autres, mais ça reste quand même mes enfants. Tajabone est sortie du lot, Dibi Dibi Rek est sortie du lot, Diamond Africa est sortie du lot. Comment l'expliquez-vous qu'elles soient sorties du lot ? Mais c'est ça, c'est divin. Je ne peux pas l'expliquer. C'est difficile à expliquer parce que quand tu écris, tu écris pour toi d'abord et pour le public après, c'est un partage. Vous avez aussi souvent utilisé vos chansons pour parler de paix, de tolérance, de justice et de l'Afrique. Pensez-vous que vous avez réussi à faire passer un message ou à faire bouger des choses. Mais bien sûr, c'est ça mon idéal, c'est ça qui me pousse à écrire. Aujourd'hui, si tu écris, il faut écrire quelque chose avec du sens, qui peut amener les gens à être tolérants, à vivre d'amour et de partage, pas de haine, et que les armes se taisent pour que les enfants puissent grandir dans le bonheur et dans la joie. La chanson contribue à l'apaisement des cœurs, à sensibiliser. Ça vient naturellement. À partir de ce moment-là, tu peaufines, tu réarranges, tu dis non, c'est mieux de dire ça. Ma passion pour la musique est spontanée. Et à 70 ans. Quels sont vos projets aujourd'hui ? Je ne sais pas. En tout cas, vous insistez sur mes 70 ans. Quand on me dit que j'ai 70 ans, je dis ah bon, j'ai 70 ans. Dans ma tête, j'ai 35 ans ou 25 ans. Je continue à écrire de nouvelles chansons. J'ai toujours cet amour, cette envie de continuer à écrire de nouvelles chansons, écrire et de sortir un nouvel album, Inch'Allah. Dans combien de temps on pourra écouter votre album ? Inch'Allah bientôt. Moi je dis toujours bientôt.

Briton Tony Davies has pretty much seen it all when it comes to television sport broadcasting. With over 20 years' experience in broadcast TV as a director, producer and writer, Davies has made a number of documentaries, including the RTS-nominated A Bat and Ball War, and worked on numerous sports events including the FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup, Olympic Games, Paralympics, Asian Games, Wimbledon, Open Championship and Tour de France.His broadcast experience opened the door to event management roles, and Davies has worked as Broadcast Venue Manager on the past three Rugby World Cups. He was also the Broadcast Project Manager for the Special Olympics in 2019. During his early years, he worked on the legendary sports magazine show, Trans World Sport and his interviewed some of the biggest names in world sport, including Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Maradona, Pele, a 13-year-old Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Wayne Gretzky, Kip Keino and even Whitney Houston and John Candy.In this episode we talk about how commentators are chosen, the economics of sports broadcasting, how modern technology is changing how we watch sports and what the future holds in the digital age for viewers.Davies lives in Nelson, New Zealand, where he lives with his wife and six (yes, it's not a typo !) children. Robin Erard et Samuel Chalard ont enquêté sur sa disparition et sur l'histoire du sentiment national en Suisse. Leur documentaire Le syndrome d'Unspunnen sera diffusé dimanche soir sur RTS 2. La pierre d'Unspunnen, on pensait qu'elle était là depuis toujours et pour toujours, mais son vol lui a donné toute sa valeur.
Gute RTS-Spiele sind also keineswegs ausgestorben. ZeroSpace zeigt eindrucksvoll, wie moderne Echtzeitstrategie nicht nur optisch auszusehen hat, sondern auch, wie sie das Gefühl vermittelt, mitten in einer gigantischen Schlacht zu stehen. Soundtechnisch kracht es dabei gewaltig, was die Wucht der Auseinandersetzungen zusätzlich unterstreicht. Mit abwechslungsreichen Missionen, vielschichtigen Fraktionen, einer packenden Hintergrundgeschichte sowie vielseitigen Koop- und Versus-Modi kratzt der Titel bereits stark am Thron von Genre-Königen wie StarCraft oder Command & Conquer. Besonders die Kombination aus Hauptfraktion, Söldner-Einheiten und wählbaren Helden bringt frischen Wind ins Genre und sorgt für enorme taktische Tiefe. Allerdings spürt man an einigen Stellen noch deutlich den Early-Access-Status: Die Cutscenes und Übergänge in der Kampagne wirken teilweise sehr abrupt, und bei der KI-Wegfindung kommt es immer wieder zu Aussetzern. Auch wenn der Preis für einen Vorab-Titel recht knackig ausfällt, stimmt der gebotene Umfang schon jetzt.
À Dakar et en région, il ne se passe pas un week-end sans « sound system », du nom de ces soirées reggae de la scène underground. Autrefois marginalisées, elles se font une place dans les nuits sénégalaises et gagnent en reconnaissance. De notre correspondante à Dakar, À Dakar, sur une piste à ciel ouvert, les corps se laissent porter par les vibrations reggae. Aux platines, le DJ enchaîne des titres venus d'Europe, des États-Unis et de Jamaïque, bien sûr. « Ici, on aime le dancehall, on aime le reggae et la culture rasta », confie Omar. Ce dernier appartient à la communauté des Baye Fall, une branche du mouridisme connue au Sénégal pour ses valeurs communes avec le mouvement rasta, comme le sens du service et l'amour de la nature. Chez lui, le reggae a toujours résonné comme une prière. Ces dernières années, il a vu peu à peu les « sound system » s'ouvrir au reste de la société. « Il y a des pères et des mères de famille, il y a des couples mariés. Il y a des responsables et cadres d'entreprise qui viennent ici juste pour profiter de la musique. Plus de personnes sont conscientes du message qu'il y a derrière », explique-t-il. Au Sénégal, les premiers « sound system » datent des années 1990, impulsés par le travail du célèbre animateur radio Cheikh Amala Doucouré. Dès 1985, ce dernier consacre chaque samedi une émission reggae sur les ondes de la radio-télévision nationale (RTS). Mais le mouvement ne prend pas vraiment, associé à une forme de déviance morale et religieuse. Aujourd'hui, les réseaux sociaux changent la donne : la rébellion pacifique de Bob Marley ou la résistance radicale de Peter Tosh trouvent un nouvel écho chez les jeunes. « Moi, ce qui m'intéresse, c'est que les gens puissent voir les messages au lieu de voir la marijuana, la fumette, etc. Tous les rastas revendiquent l'indépendance de l'Afrique en général. Il y a encore le système Babylone qui règne partout dans le monde. Moi, en tant que Sénégalais, je rejoins leur mode de pensée », souligne Omar. Dreadlocks, code vestimentaire vert-or-noir aux couleurs de la Jamaïque… Ici, chacun affiche les symboles du reggae et revendique toute l'histoire qui y est rattachée. Arame Ndiaye est responsable chez Sen Reggae, l'entité qui organise les « sound system ». « Les Jamaïcains se sentent Africains. Ce sont des descendants d'esclaves, ils sont vraiment très attachés à leur terre ici. Je vous donne un exemple : un artiste reggae qui vient au Sénégal. Il veut aller à Gorée et voir la Porte du Chemin sans retour. Pourquoi ? Parce que c'est le sang », explique-t-elle. Les « sound system » veulent désormais sortir de l'ombre du mbalax et de l'afrobeats, plus populaires au Sénégal. Bien plus que de simples fêtes, Arame Ndiaye y voit un espace de cohésion sociale. « C'est un message de paix et d'harmonie. Par exemple, avec la situation politique actuelle du pays, si plus de gens écoutaient du reggae, ils seraient beaucoup plus apaisés, comprendraient mieux les choses et agiraient différemment », estime-t-elle. À Dakar, le « sound system » a rassemblé plus d'un millier de personnes le 11 mai dernier, date anniversaire de la mort de la légende Bob Marley. They hang by a warehouse and a bridge and throw sick parties! Crime is about to be even more out of control! Undercover officer Alyssa Lloyd (Nicole Eggert) is quickly identified at this hoodlum shindig, and she's left close to death. Icy heart Professor Jack Crowley (Jack Abbott) may or may not let her finally die, but it's all okay. He brings her back (in a way)! She didn't like dying, but now she's “The Demolitionist” and crime will die! That's a thing, right? RTS are issued super cool heat signature weapons and stealthy motorcycles. Zooooom! Jeremy goes the opposite direction and fights the future with the most outdated technology that he can find. Collin doesn't appreciate the nonalcoholic wine but does fancy pink smoke powder from the slain. Get ready for goo injections and vengeance!

Bipolar disorder affects almost 40 million people worldwide, but finding the right treatment is complex, and nearly half of patients struggle to follow their prescribed treatment plans. In the first part of this episode, we discuss new research which aims to help patients and their doctors identify the right treatment. A crazy special forces officer, Colonel Hogan (David Campbell), has been hired to train a bunch of inept people to become mercenaries. For what purpose? You will never know. Their training process is to abduct people from the streets, set them loose in the woods (75 miles southeast of L.A.) and hunt them for training purposes. One of the people they kidnap is Mike Danton (Ted Prior). He was about to sex up his wife, Jaimy (Suzanne Tara), but when he quickly steps out to take out the trash, he's nabbed. Jaimy calls her cop daddy (Cameron Mitchell) for assistance, and he investigates Hogan's compound. As Mike is hunted in the woods, he turns the tables and wrecks shop. He also, for some reason, refuses to pick up any weapons, ammunition, rations, etc… That's hardcore! RTS teams up with Cooper (Wiliam Zipp) to unleash maximum damage. Our Mike saw the worm eating scene and politely exited himself. Jeremy decides this camp is not for him and heads to a nice Hyatt hotel. Room service is welcome. La-Mar, through a series of explosions, shows you his calling card. BOOM! If you're getting beat with your own arm, you just met the deadly prey.

She dead! Wait! Mom of the year (Concetta Tomei) leaves for Australia for a couple of months. She hires some rando strict babysitter to take charge of her five kids during that time. Swell makes up her credentials on her resume and gets hired as an executive assistant to Rose (Joanna Cassidy) at an apparel company. Her oldest brother Kenny (Keith Coogan) gets it together to pitch in (and to get a date with a sexy nurse). Even Clown Dog delivery boy Bryan (Josh Charles) is able to assist the family. Everyone is trying to figure Swell out. If she can stay aloof enough and keep up her work, summer might be okay after all. RTS cleans up their acts and houses. Where is Mike? Does he even know that the “dishes are done, man”? Jeremy experiences a 48-hour orgasm without going to Santa Barbara. La-Mar tells everyone to go to bed. They do!
