The pandemic is making Jen super anxious about dating and putting her search for finding “the one” on hold and Lauren is anxious about bringing a newborn into this crazy new world so we are relieved to talk to love and life coach and podcaster Veronica Grant on this week's episode to discuss why now is the time to look inward and recognize your relationship patterns, why most of the fears you have stem from childhood, what it means to be ready for a relationship and how to know if you are, which type of woman might need to switch more into their feminine in order to find love, why letting go of a plan could be a good thing for “planners,” why presence is the only way to make a connection, how this era of virtual dating is an opportunity for communication practices, why scheduling a FaceTime says a lot about whether someone is “here for the right reasons,” and Veronica’s 5-step strategy to get rid of anxiety in your love life. Today's episode is a conversation with Veronica Cisneros. Veronica Cisneros is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, motivational speaker, and queen hostess of transformational women’s retreats. Through these retreats, Veronica helps women answer the question: “how did I lose me?” She lovingly calls out insecurities and doubts and teaches women to challenge them for what they are, a mythical assault to their true femininity. When it comes to stepping outside of your comfort zone, Veronica is your best bet. Yet, she ensures that, by stepping out, women are able to experience true transformational change; uncovering the inner goddess and, let’s be honest, bad ass, they’ve always been. Veronica helps women truly become empowered and unapologetic’ through unique challenges and personalized coaching. It comes as no surprise, then, that Veronica is also CEO (a.k.a queen hustler) of Empowered and Unapologetic; a hardcore ‘girl gang’ of women aggressively supporting each other on Facebook. Her focus is to continue to expand this community, filled with authentic women who know their worth and who are unapologetic about putting themselves first. Veronica’s true aspiration is to help multitudes of women learn how to let go of perfectionism and, instead, face their emotional wounds and insecurities. Veronica Grant is a Love-Life Coach for smart, successful women who feel like they have it all except love, find it. She believes finding real love isn’t about a great profile, a snazzy text, or pleasing men. It’s about stepping into the fullest, most authentic, empowered version of yourself, even in a world where it feels like the cards are stacked against you. Through her binge-worthy podcast, free challenges, and coaching, she’s here to shake up how you find love, even in our swipe right, swipe left world. A few of her guilty pleasures (a must-have for recovering perfectionists!) include binge-watching HGTV, hiking with her husband and pup, and sushi everything. Meet Veronica and get ready to finally throw out everything you’ve ever learned about love and relationships through her popular DATE YOURSELF CHALLENGE. MY FAVE MOMENTS… Before we truly begin…can we all admit that Veronica Grant is just about the greatest superhero name EVER? Yeah? So much of Veronica’s stories remind me of my unmarried and uncoupled days of looking for love in allll the wrong places. I mean…I was just looking for love any old way I could get it…like Veronica. It got a little awkward when I asked her about the cleanliness of her bathroom floor (you know…when she was having her ‘bathroom floor moment’) and thankfully…she just rolled with it, lol. Listen in as we talk about: The importance of building strong emotional foundations in childhood and what happens when you don’t…no matter if your childhood was traumatic or “idyllic”. What happens when the facades of perfection come tumbling down? Then what? We’ll always have our days where we question, “Who the hell am I?” but hopefully we gather tools along the way to help ourselves through those times. Veronica’s mortifying lesson learned: Never ask a woman if she’s pregnant. Sadly, SUSAN from Season 1 can relate. Meet Veronica aka Roni. 25 years old. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband, Vinny. On the outside, Roni's midwest upbringing may seem pretty simple: the oldest daughter to two loving parents who are still happily married today, a homeschooler, a lover of reading, writing, running and the outdoors. But, as you're about to discover, our conversation journeys far deeper than that. Roni's story paints a vivid picture of how the traits of two parents can materialize into the unique characteristics of their children. It reveals how the lineage far beyond those intimate family units are tiny threads in a fabric of rich, sometimes remarkable relationships. And how uncovering one small piece of that history can flip someone's perception of themselves in an instant.
