Dr. Aimie Apigian comes back to unpack the biology of trauma and how unresolved overwhelm lives not just in the mind, but in the body and cells. Together, we will explain why you can't simply “think your way out” of stress patterns, and how true healing requires addressing the nervous system, cellular health, and subconscious beliefs. From mitochondrial shutdown to learned helplessness, this conversation bridges science and lived experience—offering a new lens on fatigue, burnout, fertility challenges, and emotional resilience. The key message: healing isn't about pushing harder—it's about restoring safety and capacity in the body.Key Takeaways:Trauma isn't just psychological—it's stored in the body and biology. You can't think your way out of survival mode; the nervous system must feel safe.Chronic stress + overwhelm reduces cellular capacity, especially in mitochondria. Many people are stuck in a loop: high stress (gas) + shutdown (brake) at the same time.Healing requires a holistic approach: mind, body, and biology working together.Where to find Dr. Aimie Apigian:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/draimie/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-aimie-apigianYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DrAimieApigianWebsite: https://biologyoftrauma.com/Podcast: https://biologyoftrauma.com/biology-of-trauma-podcast/Book: https://book.biologyoftrauma.com/landing-pageDr. Aimie Apigian Bio:Dr. Aimie Apigian, MD, MS, MPH, is a double board-certified physician in Preventive and Addiction Medicine with advanced degrees in Biochemistry and Public Health. Her book, The Biology of Trauma, reveals the cellular and emotional roots of fear, pain, and overwhelm, and offers a practical path to true mind-body-biology healing.
Let's be honest — Most of us aren't actually moving forward. We're just running away from things that happened years ago, hoping that if we go fast enough, the past won't catch up. We've all heard the advice to "just let it go" or "give it to God," but if it were that easy, why are we still so exhausted? Why does that one mistake from a decade ago still have the power to ruin your Tuesday morning? In this episode of The Leader's Cut, Preston Morrison and Tim Ross are getting back into the gritty reality of what it actually takes to find your "Missing Peace." This isn't a conversation about surface-level "happiness"—it's a deep dive into the parts of your soul you've been trying to ignore. If you feel like you're just surviving your life instead of living it, it's time for a reality check. The Holy Spirit wants to do more than just comfort you; He wants to cut away the trauma that has been making your decisions for you. We're talking about the stuff nobody wants to talk about, including: * The Inner Critic's Real Identity: Who is that voice in your head that's constantly bothered by your mistakes? (Hint: It's not God, and it's not just "you.") * Emotional Indigestion: Why the things you refuse to process are currently defining your future. * The Biology of Peace: How to move the peace of Jesus from a "concept" in your head to a "regulation" in your actual nervous system. * Why You're Not "Here": The real reason you find it impossible to be present with the people you love. * The Trap of Self-Awareness: Why knowing you have a problem isn't the same thing as letting Him cut it out. You can keep running, or you can stop and finally metabolize what's been chasing you. It's time to stop letting start walking in the peace you were actually designed for. This is where true healing begins.

The chat really dives into a deep philosophical and super-practical look at healing, all sparked by Peter Galle's firsthand experience with a pretty serious health hurdle—a herpetic cold sore infection in his eye. He ran the full gamut, hitting it with conventional treatments like Valtrex alongside a ton of classic antivirals like Coptis (Huanglian) and Skullcap. But nothing was truly curative or stopping the progression of the ulcer. He was ready to give up and hit the emergency room for steroids when, as a last-ditch "recesses of my mind" shot, he took a large dose of St. John's wort internally. Peter describes a near-instant, profound cooling effect, and the infection began to resolve. This miraculous, boundary-pushing moment opens up the main thesis of the conversation: the deep, messy intersection of medicine, politics, and personal philosophy. Peter and you talk about the frustration of the "magical gap" that exists between highly institutionalized, textbook-based medicine (TCM, Naturopathic, or conventional) and the unique, individual healing path. You both stress that medicine is at its best when it is pragmatic, clear, and focused on the patient's best outcome—calculating the risk of a harsh intervention (like short-term steroids for joint destruction) against the long-term consequences. The biggest hurdles aren't just the pathogens; they're the practitioners' internal politics and the ego-driven desire to make their own worldview or model right. The conversation broadens to the macro-level: how our non-integrated, moralizing medical system—and even humanity's inappropriate relationship with the Earth—prevents us from truly seeing and honoring the unique path to healing for the suffering individual. Ultimately, the path forward is rooted in humility and a non-judgmental approach to meeting the patient where they are. Peter & Mason discuss: St. John's Wort "Magic": High-dose St. John's wort resolved a stubborn eye infection when other treatments failed. Pragmatism Over Dogma: Choose the most effective, lowest-risk treatment—even if it mixes approaches. Flaw in the Model: No medical system is complete; all are shaped by cultural limits. Healing "Gap": Standard treatments don't always work due to individual differences. Individual Uniqueness: Treat each patient as unique; personal response matters as much as studies. Internal Politics: Ego and bias can hinder effective treatment decisions. Humility & Integration: True healing requires humility and blending different medical approaches. Lorena Savvedra Smith talks about something most of us feel but can't name: soul dislocation. That spiraling, fragmented feeling after a hard conversation. The numbness when the world feels like too much. Her ancestors had a name for it, and a way back. In this conversation, we explore why our rush to “heal” with ancient practices might be causing more harm, and how true healing asks us to stop running from nature's power—and run toward it. 00:00 Introduction: The Ferocity of True Healing 03:54 What is Eco-Psychology? 06:02 Growing Up With Ancestral Wisdom 09:48 Nature: Grandmother and Ferocious Wind 14:57 Honoring Ancient Practices Without Colonizing Them 21:48 Lessons From the Elders: We Are All Family 26:07 The Jaguar's Call: Running Toward What Frightens Us 29:33 Shaman or Priest? If you've been trying to take care of your health but still feel tired, off, or overwhelmed, you're not alone. In this episode, we explore why fatigue isn't always just a physical issue—and how focusing only on diet, supplements, or natural remedies can sometimes leave you feeling stuck. This conversation is for Christian women who are seeking clarity, peace, and a faith-centered approach to their health. If you've been doing many of the “right” things but still don't feel better, this episode will help you begin to see your health from a deeper, more complete perspective. Understanding Detox: Helpful, But Not the Full Answer Natural remedies like bentonite clay, apple cider vinegar, and detox-supporting foods can play a role in supporting the body. Bentonite clay, in particular, is often used to help bind to toxins and support the body's natural detox processes. It also contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which can support overall health. Some people use it for digestion, others for skin health, and it can even be used as a natural face mask to help clean pores. If you want to learn more about how bentonite clay works and the different ways it can be used, you can read more here: https://draxe.com/nutrition/bentonite-clay-benefits/ These tools can be helpful—but they don't always address the root of ongoing fatigue. Sometimes, the issue goes beyond the physical body. When You're Doing Everything Right but Still Feel Off Many women are making intentional, healthy choices—but still feel: • Tired • Disconnected • Unsure why they're not improving This can feel frustrating and confusing. But it doesn't necessarily mean you're doing something wrong. It may mean something deeper is being overlooked. Detoxing More Than Just Your Body True wellness may require looking beyond physical detox and considering other areas of your life. This can include: • How you spend your time (social media, news, entertainment) • The environments and relationships you're consistently in • The emotional weight you may be carrying These factors can quietly drain your energy and affect your overall well-being. Emotional Healing and Its Impact on Health Unresolved experiences from the past can continue to influence how you feel today. This doesn't always mean major trauma—it can also be: • Hurtful words • Rejection • Long-held beliefs about yourself God desires healing in these areas. Walking through emotional healing—whether through counseling, mentorship, or intentional time with God—can be an important part of restoring peace and energy. Renewing Your Mind Through Truth One common belief many women carry is: “My body is inherently dysfunctional, and there's nothing I can do.” But this is not truth. You serve the Creator of heaven and earth. God is with you, and He cares about your healing—whether that comes quickly or over time. Renewing your mind with truth can shift how you approach your health: • From fear to trust • From striving to stewardship • From confusion to clarity Even when healing doesn't happen immediately, God is present in every step. A Faith-Centered Approach to Chronic Fatigue and Healing Health is not just about fixing symptoms. It's about learning to: • Understand your body • Recognize what may be contributing to how you feel • Align your decisions with wisdom and faith A whole-person approach—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—can bring a deeper sense of peace and direction. Time-Stamped Highlights 00:00 — Introduction: Why detox isn't just about the body 00:56 — What bentonite clay is and how it supports detoxification 03:47 — Natural detox methods and their role in health 04:44 — Why physical detox alone may not resolve fatigue 05:14 — The importance of evaluating how you spend your time 06:09 — Emotional wounds and their long-term impact 07:33 — Personal growth, counseling, and responsibility for healing 08:58 — Living in the freedom Christ offers 09:27 — When health struggles are not just about diet 10:25 — Encouragement to seek support and healing 10:52 — Renewing your mind and rejecting limiting beliefs 11:23 — Trusting God even when healing takes time 11:52 — Why deeper factors may be contributing to fatigue 12:50 — How a whole-person approach brings clarity and direction Key Takeaways • Fatigue is not always just a physical issue—other areas of life can contribute • Natural remedies and healthy habits are helpful, but may not address deeper issues • Emotional and mental burdens can impact energy and overall well-being • Healing may involve addressing past experiences and renewing your thinking • God cares about your whole person—body, mind, and spirit • Clarity often comes from stepping back and seeing the full picture • Your next step doesn't have to be complicated—but it should be thoughtful and aligned Call to Action If you feel like you've been trying to figure this out on your own and still don't have clear direction, you're not alone. In this thought-provoking episode, Nia and Jean dive into the hidden power—and danger—of psychological labels. We're living in what might be the most "psychologically literate" era yet, with quizzes, diagnoses, and personality tags seemingly everywhere. But is this precise self-understanding truly serving us, or could it be quietly limiting our growth? Drawing from cognitive science, trauma research, and Jean's real-world coaching experience, the conversation explores the slippery line between helpful self-understanding and the trap of fixed identity. Discover how labels, while useful for communication and support, can turn into rigid boundaries that subtly harden your sense of self and stall true healing. Key Topics Covered Psychological Labels as Tools and Traps: Why our brains crave categorization, and how labels originally meant to help can become limiting if we "move into the manila folder" and stop exploring our complexity. The Algorithm of Identity: How social media, online quizzes, and modern individualism drive us to declare simplified, hashtag-ready versions of ourselves—often at the expense of authentic growth. Identity Foreclosure: What happens when we prematurely stop at a label, mistaking definition for understanding, and how this can become a hidden form of self-sabotage. The Cost for Trauma Survivors: How building an identity around pain or survival can make true healing feel threatening, and the importance of moving beyond clinical language into lived, somatic truth. Healing Through Narrative Writing: Practical guidance and peer-reviewed research on how expressive writing in your own unfiltered words—not jargon—can help the body and mind genuinely integrate past experiences. From Identity to Voice: Why real transformation means shifting from "Who am I?" to "What is my story?", reclaiming authorship over your life instead of living within static labels. Reflection Prompts: Gentle questions to help you examine your everyday use of labels, and an invitation to consider who you are without relying on psychological categories. Memorable Quotes "Labels are fantastic tools. But they make terrible masters." "Knowing the menu isn't eating the meal. Real healing comes from direct, messy engagement with your story." "Voice is an active expression of authorship over your own life." Takeaways & Next Steps Notice the labels you use to describe yourself—are they opening doors or closing them? Try writing about your experiences in your own words, dropping jargon and observing how your body responds. Remember: Your story is always bigger than any label. Dog trainers are often tasked with helping dogs feel less afraid of things in their daily environments. This can be loud noises, it can be strangers, or it can even be slick floors or novel sights. The well known stimulus-stimulus pairing approach trainers call counter conditioning is not as effective as it has been made out to be, and this complex emotion requires more nuanced planning. WelcomeHello and blessings beauties, and welcome to Season 3 of The Calling Podcast, Follow Your Spirit All the Way In. I'm your host, Homaya. This episode 02, True Healing Is Awakening: Reunification With the Divine (The Healer Series 02 of 08) continues the conversation that was inspired by one of my most important masterclasses, The Healer. Today, we open a deep truth about what healing is, shifting away from fixing symptoms and chasing root cause stories, into reunification with the divine, because this is what healing truly is.Wherever you are right now, take a deep breath. Connect. Open your heart, open your energetic bodies, and allow yourself to receive the full download. Listen with your heart. Let the transmission do what it is here for.Episode SummaryWhen I started giving healing sessions, I carried a very strong prayer. I wanted my system to recognise the original cause. I wanted to understand why there was a distortion, why disease appeared, where the story began. I believed that cracking the code of the root cause was what made me a good healer. As I continued, through teaching, meditation, spiritual practice, and being in the field with many healers, something became clear.God is the original code. And when I began to hold divinity and the infinite nature of God inside my consciousness, I saw that true healing is not searching the story. It is not tracing what the mother did, what the father did, what happened at five, at sixteen, or even in a past life.True healing is reunification with God.Energetic healing has nothing to do with fixing. It is not western medicine. It is not symptom chasing, even though symptoms can shift as we go. Healing is awakening. It is an expansion of consciousness beyond a mental narrative, a return to what is real and profoundly true.In this episode, I also speak about the glass ceiling, the limitation we hold above our heads, and how stories, including shame, guilt, and embarrassment, can keep us small. I share why you are not paying for knowledge, you are paying for transmission, and how the level of consciousness we hold shapes what becomes possible for our clients, our work, our money, and our impact. We close with a simple truth.Healing is not about fixing. Healing is awakening. And in our next conversation, we go into a word and a frequency that opens a doorway, singularity.Key TakeawaysHealing is reunification with the divine, a return to God as the original code.Root cause stories can become another form of symptom chasing and storytelling.Energetic healing is not about fixing, it is about awakening and truth. The glass ceiling is often held in our perspective, and in collective frequencies like shame, guilt, and embarrassment. You are not paying for knowledge, you are paying for transmission. The consciousness you hold shapes how far you can take someone beyond their stories. If this episode of The Calling Podcast touched you, please leave a review, like and subscribe, and share it with your friends, family, and colleagues, because everyone has a calling. In this conversation, Dr. Stanton Hom welcomes back Dr. Andrew Kaufman, a "recovering physician" known for challenging mainstream narratives on viruses, vaccines, and chronic illness. Together they unpack vaccine mandates, the 1986 liability shield, and how government intervention reshaped the market for vaccines. They then dive into turpentine as a traditional, evidence-backed remedy, how it works as a lipophilic detox tool, and practical ways families can safely apply it. Dr. Kaufman also outlines his natural-healing workshops and a vision of healthcare where families rely less on institutions and more on their own wisdom, community, and responsibility. Highlights: "The only way we can change these harmful societal forces is by making decisions and taking action for ourselves." "It wasn't the diagnoses that came first. It was the drugs, and then they built a system to convince everyone they're mentally ill." "It's not the substance that does the curing. It's your body that does the cure." "The only sustainable model is when we get people so well that they never need us and they never need the system." In this opening message of the “Abandon” series, Pastor Tim explores what it means to live with abandon as citizens of heaven, using the story of the ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19. While all ten were cleansed as they obeyed Jesus' command to show themselves to the priests, only one—a Samaritan—returned with loud praise, throwing himself at Jesus' feet in gratitude, and was made truly well. This act of careless, bold worship contrasts with the nine who missed deeper wholeness by not responding fully to God's grace, illustrating how we often forget the cost and magnitude of Jesus' love, leading to spoiled or restrained praise.CONNECT WITH US:→ Request Prayer: https://bit.ly/3zMyf5E→ Request Care: https://bit.ly/3fBTX5G→ Share a Testimony: https://bit.ly/3Jo7Ped→ Find Events and More: https://bit.ly/3TcrkcR→ Leave us a Review on Google: https://bit.ly/47925jP→ Plan a Visit in Person: https://bit.ly/3sfQdg7FOLLOW US:→ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/illuminatec...→ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@illuminate_ch...→ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/illuminatech...WE HELP PEOPLE FIND ABUNDANT LIFE IN JESUS!
What happens when a $2 billion CEO walks away from corporate success to serve former gang members? Thomas Vozzo faced exactly that choice. After 26 years in the for-profit world, he chose Homeboy Industries over another lucrative CEO role—knowing he was "burning bridges." At Homeboy, Tom discovered profound truths. "God is too busy loving us to judge us," he learned, not intellectually but viscerally, surrounded daily by 500 people healing from complex trauma. He watched former gang members flourish when given 8, 9, 10 chances. The stress was greater, but the joy ran deeper. His journey challenges everything we're taught to value, revealing that authentic success means finding joy through serving others, not chasing titles.Thomas J. Vozzo is an author, speaker, and former Fortune 200 executive who served 26 years in the for-profit world before becoming CEO of Homeboy Industries, the world's largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry organization. As Homeboy's first CEO, Tom brought transformational leadership, quadrupling the organization's size, growing the annual budget from $11M to $50M, and helping 10,000 people annually. Currently serving as Senior Advisor, Tom promotes from within—70% of leadership are former clients. His 3x award-winning book "The Homeboy Way: A Radical Approach to Business and Life" is published by Loyola Press. Hi Sweet friend, Today's episode is tender, powerful, and real. If you're a nurse or healthcare professional who has been: Spiritually curious but still searching Carrying unhealed trauma beneath a capable exterior Exploring “spiritual things” but feeling unsettled or empty Or quietly wondering if there's more to faith than what you've experienced This conversation is for you. My guest today, Ondrea Lynn, courageously shares her story — one marked by sexual and emotional trauma, deep spiritual hunger, and a long road of searching for healing in all the wrong places. Like so many helpers, she wanted relief. She wanted peace. She wanted freedom from the pain she carried in her body and soul. But the paths she took — including occult practices and counterfeit spiritual solutions — only left her more bound… until she encountered Jesus. Ondrea is a speaker and author of the book, ‘The Christian Women's Weight Loss Victory Plan (How to Defeat the Enemy and Transform Your Body).' Ondrea has helped thousands of women reach their personal health and wellness goals and improve their physical and nutritional health, as well as their emotional and spiritual well-being. She is a graduate of the Institute of Integrated Nutrition, affiliated with the Teachers College at Columbia University, some of her certifications include, NASM fitness trainer, behavioral change specialist, and self-sabotage coach. Her efforts in health & wellness have been featured in an article and on the cover of Woman's World Magazine. She appeared as a personal trainer on Lifetime television's Mission Makeover. Her ‘Christian Women's Weight Loss' podcast is currently ranking top 3% globally. Ondrea is passionate about helping Christian women lose weight and gain health so they can rise up in the Kingdom and take action on the assignment God has called them to do. And as nurses, we are often exposed to suffering, death, and spiritual questions daily — yet we rarely have space to talk about our own souls. This episode gently invites you to pause and ask: What am I actually seeking? And where am I going to find it? Whether you're listening for yourself, or because you know someone who needs this testimony, I pray this story meets you exactly where you are. 1/5/26 - Fr. Francis Mary Roaldi, CFR, reflects on the Catholic understanding of healing as a journey that engages the whole person—heart, mind, body, and soul. He explores how wounds formed by sin, suffering, trauma, and regret can leave lasting effects, and how Christ patiently draws the wounded into truth, mercy, and restoration. Drawing from Scripture, the sacramental life of the Church, and pastoral experience, Fr. Francis Mary explains why healing often unfolds gradually and how surrender, honesty, and trust in God open the way to lasting peace. This episode offers encouragement to anyone seeking renewal, hope, and deeper freedom in Christ.

In this transformative episode, integrative health practitioner and co-founder of Amplify Impact Academy, Melissa Deally, joins host Avik Chakraborty to reveal why most people are only using 10–25% of who they really are. Melissa breaks down the 4 interconnected bodies (spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical), the 3 minds (conscious, unconscious, and higher self/superconscious), and how Timeline Therapy rapidly clears decades of stored negative emotions and limiting beliefs — without years of talk therapy. Discover practical tools like the “Clear the Screen” method to dissolve anxiety instantly and step fully into your life's mission. Key Takeaways: We have 4 bodies: Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, and Physical. Physical symptoms are usually the last to appear after imbalances in the other three. True, lasting healing requires addressing all four bodies — not just the physical. We have 3 minds: – Conscious mind (10% – logic & willpower) – Unconscious mind (90% – emotions, memories, imagination) – Higher Self / Superconscious (blueprint for perfect health & life mission) Children live fully in the unconscious mind until age 7–9, downloading beliefs like sponges — this is where most limiting programming begins. Timeline Therapy clears the 7 major negative emotions (anger, sadness, fear, hurt, guilt, rage, shame) at their root cause in one session by working with the unconscious mind. Emotions are stored in “gestalts” (like pearls on a necklace) — release the first pearl (root event) and the entire chain falls away. All humans share at least one of four core limiting decisions: I'm unworthy, unlovable, powerless, or not good enough. Talk therapy can unintentionally deepen trauma because the unconscious mind re-experiences the event every time it's retold. The “Clear the Screen” method eliminates acute anxiety by shifting focus from the imagined “horror show” to the desired “love story” outcome — in minutes. You cannot “think” your way to solutions or perfect health; the conscious mind doesn't directly connect to the Higher Self — answers come through the unconscious (shower thoughts, driving insights, middle-of-the-night clarity). Anxiety's purpose is to alert you that you're focusing on what you DON'T want — change the focus, and the anxiety dissolves. I spoke with Dr. Kandis Lock about what true healing looks like in a time of quick fixes and chronic stress. We explored how naturopathic medicine approaches health through connection - between body systems, emotions, lifestyle and environment. Kandis shared insights from her clinical experience, including the patterns she sees again and again in modern illness, and why many people don't really need more pills - they need better awareness, rhythms and rest. We also talked about working with patients who feel stuck, the limits of Western medicine, and what holistic care looks like when it's done right. Read more about Kandis' work here: http://www.kandislocknd.ca/ ----------------------------------------------- Dr Kandis Lock has been a Naturopath for over a decade, treating a wide spectrum of diseases with a special interest hormonal health, digestive concerns, and general well-being. THE BALANCED MOMTALITY- Pelvic Floor/Core Rehab For The Pregnant and Postpartum Mom
If you've ever been told to “just strengthen your core” for back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, or leaking , this episode is your wake-up call. Because here's the truth → your core doesn't work alone. It's part of a powerful kinetic chain: your feet, hips, ribs, shoulders, and everything in between, all working together to create strength, stability, and balance. When one piece of that chain isn't functioning properly, your entire system compensates. That means your “core problem” might actually start in your feet, hips, posture, or even your breath.

Hey Heal Squad! We had our first-ever Heal Retreat… and we're still buzzing from it. There were tears, breakthroughs, laughter, and the kind of healing you can feel in your body long after you leave the room. In this episode, Maria and Kev are unpacking everything about the retreat, the energy, the conversations, the community, and the transformations that unfolded. They also dive into the topics of resonance and dissonance, safety and surrender, and what it actually feels like when your body finally exhales. Maria shares her biggest takeaways (including some pretty emotional ones), and we dive into the moments that cracked us open and reminded us why we do this work; not to “fix” ourselves, but to come home to who we really are. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be part of this community in real life, this is the episode to listen to. It's not just a recap, it's a portal into what's possible when you step into a space of safety, presence, and connection. Healing is possible. And it happened here!
