The highly anticipated "F1: The Movie" is set for release next week, boasting an impressive 89% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Actor Brad Pitt was seen driving a 2023 MCL60 at COTA, adding to the film's buzz , and the F1 director has teased a "Days of Thunder" crossover as a potential sequel concept. Veteran driver Fernando Alonso has achieved a remarkable milestone, having started an astounding 35.7% of all F1 Grand Prix races in history. Young talents Dino Beganovic and Alex Dunne are set to gain valuable experience in Free Practice 1 (FP1) at Austria, stepping in for Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris, respectively. In organizational news, the FIA has restructured, resulting in the dismissal of Sara Mariani, its Head of Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion. Istanbul race organizers have publicly stated their readiness to host a Grand Prix if the new Madrid circuit isn't completed for the 2026 season. Liberty Media has received unconditional approval to acquire MotoGP, with the deal expected to finalize by July 3, 2025. James Vowles has signed a new long-term deal with the Williams Formula 1 team, seen by drivers like Alex Albon as a powerful "vote of confidence". The podcast also features an in-depth look at the Austrian Grand Prix's rich and varied history across multiple venues, from the Zeltweg Airfield to the current Red Bull Ring. Max Verstappen has notably dominated at the Red Bull Ring in recent years, securing multiple victories. The 2024 Austrian Grand Prix saw a dramatic race where George Russell secured victory for Mercedes after a collision between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, who were fiercely battling for the lead. Ferrari's 2025 underperformance is primarily attributed to a fundamental issue with their car's design, specifically its difficulty in running very low to the ground without incurring excessive plank wear in high-speed corners. Both Ferrari and Red Bull are anticipated to introduce substantial upgrades to their cars, with a particular focus on the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix. Key talking points for the upcoming weekend include whether Max Verstappen can reassert dominance on his home turf, Mercedes' momentum after Russell's 2024 win, McLaren's superior tire management, the impact of Ferrari's upgrades, potential track limits issues, and the performance of junior drivers in FP1. Phil Randazzo is the Founder of American Dream U, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping military service members transition into successful civilian careers or launch their businesses. Since its founding in 2003, American Dream U has provided educational programs and mentorship to over 16,000 veterans and their families, featuring guidance from top entrepreneurs and business leaders.  Beyond his nonprofit work, Phil has authored several books, including Mission Next, Funding Your Bigger Future, and Shark Talk. As an entrepreneur, he maintains business interests across healthcare, compliance, and franchising industries. He has been recognized for his service with honors like the key to the City of Las Vegas and a commission on Nevada's Veterans Services Commission. In this episode… Many veterans struggle with transitioning from military to civilian life, facing uncertainty, emotional upheaval, and misaligned career paths. Standard programs often push veterans into roles that mirror their service jobs without exploring their passions or personal growth. But what if the transition could be a transformative opportunity to rediscover purpose and design a life that truly fits? Social impact entrepreneur and leadership mentor Phil Randazzo shares how identity challenges, suppressed emotions, and outdated belief systems can hinder veterans from fully integrating personal growth. He offers insights into shifting from seeking external relief to practicing internal integration — through tools like meditation, storytelling, journaling, and self-reflection. Phil emphasizes the importance of releasing inherited emotional patterns, cultivating awareness, and building community for sustained change. His journey of emotional awakening, marriage transformation, and helping over 19,000 service members provides a roadmap for creating lasting impact and self-discovery. In this episode of the Inspired Insider Podcast, Dr. Jeremy Weisz interviews Phil Randazzo, Founder of American Dream U, about empowering veterans through personal transformation and entrepreneurship. Phil discusses his turning point, strategies for sustainable change, and the power of community. He also explores childhood belief systems, how transition impacts family dynamics, and the importance of integrating lessons rather than chasing relief.

The Red Sox lineup leaves much to be desired right now. No one is going. Very spotty at best. Why is Duran struggling so much? Cora is back on the hot seat. What is he supposed to do without Devers? He is in hot water right now though with Henry because of the Devers situation. This whole thing is tough to read. He couldn't solve the problems in the clubhouse. Keefe thinks that Breslow will stay but Cora will go in the offseason. None of the prospects are producing at the big league level. They are definitely second guessing everything. Going through the strikeout numbers. The veterans are letting the team down.

Duty, Sacrifice, and Character: The Unshakable Resolve of LTC Daniel Gade This week's Team Never Quit guest, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Gade, brings us a story of courage, sacrifice, and resilience that will leave you deeply inspired. A two-time Purple Heart recipient, LTC Gade served with distinction in Iraq, where he led soldiers in some of the most hostile environments and endured life-altering injuries in the line of duty. But as you'll hear, his story didn't end in combat—it began a new chapter of leadership, healing, and purpose. Born on a North Dakota farm and raised with a strong sense of patriotism, Daniel always knew he was destined to serve. After graduating from West Point, he rose through the ranks as an armored officer, company commander, and eventually a wounded warrior whose leg injury nearly claimed his life. Through a long and painful recovery, his faith, family, and unrelenting grit propelled him to become a policy expert, White House veteran, Ph.D. holder, and educator at the very academy that shaped him. This conversation goes beyond the battlefield to explore themes of honor, duty, and the character that defines true greatness. Whether you're in the military or not, Daniel's story will challenge you to reflect on your own purpose and what you're willing to sacrifice for it. In This Episode You Will Hear: • I worry about whether the wars that we fought in – were they the right thing to do? I wonder if our national leadership is courageous enough to understand that these young men and women - their blood should not be sacrificed in vain. (9:53) • I hope our generation will do a better job of deciding when and where to go to war. (10:59) • I graduated West Point in '97 (13:47) • [Marcus – On 9/11] They sat us down. They hey had all the TVs on the wall. As we were watching it, the second one [plane] hit. (18:46) • My tank was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade on November 10th, and it killed the soldier next to me and wounded me mildly. (23:35) • I remember looking at him and the next day was veteran's day. And I remember thinking: “I know he's dead, but his parents don't know he's dead yet. And they're gonna find out on Veteran's Day.” (25:53) • At 26:25 Daniel recalls the experience of being hit by an IED. • It's a miracle that I'm alive, honestly. (28:41) • I end up spending a year in the hospital. (28:57) • People ask me if I have PTSD and I don't, but when I was unconscious, I had horrible, horrible dreams. (30:55) • I went from user-level wounded warrior, just a guy in a hospital bed, to being the guy whose office is overlooking the west wing from across the street. (38:05) • The book is called “Wounding Warriors”. It's on Amazon. (43:4) • The generosity that we do have for veterans is actually too much and in the wrong direction because it incentivizes all the wrong behaviors. (44:18) • The system itself disincentivizes wellness and positivity. It causes people to quit and to disengage from society. (48:08) • The whole system is basically welfare. (50:24) • What we need to do is re-orient the system towards employment and thriving, and towards changing goals from seeing how much money people can get to seeing how good an outcome they can get. (55:06) • We ought not label someone disabled until they've gone through the full rehabilitation process. (55:28) • If you want more of something, incentivize it. If you want less of something, tax it. (56:15) There's 6million people getting disability compensation, and 3.2 million of them are getting it for Tinnitus – ringing of the ears. (58:40) • We should take care of veterans the right way. Not turn them into welfare queens. After going to officer's training at Quantico, Bahrns was assigned command of 3rd Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marines in 2003. By 2004 they were in Iraq, and a few months later they would be involved in some of the fiercest fighting of the war - the Second Battle of Fallujah. In this edition of Veterans Chronicles, Bahrns discusses the ramping up to the battle, how he got orders to get his men ready for the fight in the middle of the night, and what he went over in his mind just before the battle began.Bahrns describes the successful push to the mayor's complex, the vicious fighting to move out from there, and the brutal house-to-house fighting that followed. He explains the very effective method of clearing houses, how those gains stayed secured, and how his Marines escaped from a very precarious situation at a place they called "The Alamo."Finally, Bahrns details the devastating loss of Cpl. Bradley Faircloth in late November 2004 and how Faircloth's death still weighs on him today.

What happens when a 9-year-old girl witnesses her mother's death—and no one talks about it?This week's guest, Breane, grew up in rural Montana where silence was survival. After watching her epileptic mother die and being told to “move on,” Brianna buried her pain for years. But trauma has a way of demanding to be felt. From oil fields in North Dakota to raising three boys in the mountains, anxiety and emotional numbness shadowed every chapter—until she broke the cycle. Today, Brianna is the founder of Montana Grit, a one-of-a-kind program helping female veterans and first responders heal through raw, backcountry experiences. No Instagram therapy fluff—just real women, in the wild, doing the deep inner work no one talks about. Her mission was born from pain: “I am the product of veterans and first responders who never got help.” Now she's created the thing she wished existed—off-grid resilience and recovery for those who serve, and too often suffer in silence. To help support Breane's non-profit visit: @Montana_grit_outdoors —Support the showFollow Wild Chaos on Social Media: Apple iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-wild-chaos-podcast/id1732761860Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5KFGZ6uABb1sQlfkE2TIoc?si=8ff748aa4fc64331 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wildchaospodcastBam's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bambam0069Youtube: https://youtube.com/@wildchaospodTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@wildchaosshowMeta (Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/wildchaospodcast

Since 2002, graduates of the U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course have been awarded the Yarborough Knife; an elite symbol of distinction, identity, and mission. Named after LTG William P. Yarborough, who was instrumental in solidifying President John F. Kennedy's support of Special Forces, the blade was forged to mark the moment a soldier became a Green Beret. Each knife was engraved with a serial number, connecting it to the operator who earned it. But in 2015, that tradition ended. Budget cuts discontinued the official presentation, and for nearly a decade, new Green Berets have crossed the stage without a blade in hand; without that powerful, tangible connection to the generations who came before. Now, Chris Stroup and the Green Beret Foundation are bringing it back. A former Army Special Operations soldier, Chris, like so many who serve in the elite ranks, battled loss of identity and purpose when he transitioned to civilian life. On came a new mission. He founded Stroup Knives; an American-made, family-run company dedicated to building rugged, high-quality blades for hard use.I sat down with Chris at his shop in Fayetteville, North Carolina to learn just how he started Stroup Knives, why every part of the process is done in-house, and how his military values of precision, discipline, and purpose now shape every product he makes. We spoke about his commitment to quality over quantity, employing veterans, and his newest creation: the Green Beret Dagger; a modern descendant of the Yarborough, designed to once again be fielded as a symbol of elite service and brotherhood. This is about more than a knife. It's about restoring a tradition, honoring sacrifice, and forging identity through craftsmanship. Watch, listen, or read our conversation from the floor of a veteran-owned shop where steel meets legacy and where a mark of distinction is being brought back.Head over to greenberetfoundation.org today to get yours. Welcome back to Home Base Nation! This is our sixth episode in a series where we talk with some of the folks at Home Base who wake up every day with the same mission in mind, regardless of their role at the Center of Excellence in the Navy Yard and beyond. Over the next several weeks, we will share the staff conversations I had with some of the hardworking professionals at Home Base who help treat the invisible wounds of veterans and military families. We have published 120 episodes since 2019. For this new season, we thought it would be a good idea to look back on some of the highlights of our conversations and select 20 episodes that resonated with veterans, service members, military families, and the civilians who support them. But first up, you'll hear from some of the folks at Home Base who wake up every day with the same mission in mind, no matter what they do at the Center of Excellence in the Navy Yard and beyond. For this episode, you will hear a brief conversation with Registered Dietitian and Manager of Clinical and Culinary Nutrition for the Home Base Program Nicolette Maggiolo, serving those in the Home Base Intensive Clinical Program, New England Warrior Health & Fitness Program, and Outpatient Clinic. Additionally, Nicolette has authored a Limited edition Home Base Cookbook that features over 100 original recipes with reflections from veterans and military families. With all proceeds benefiting Home Base. It even has a bonus dog treat recipe for your pup, honoring our beloved Home Base dog Gatsby.  Woof. The cookbook was available at Stop and Shop in honor of Military Appreciation Month and once more become available we will share it here.Following my conversation with Nicolette, you'll hear an episode with Rock DJ and podcast host Mistress Carrie. A vehement supporter of U.S. troops and veterans, Mistress Carrie wanted to find a way to give back, and in 2006 she made her way to Iraq, as the first non-news journalist embedded with troops there, before "deploying" for a second time in Afghanistan in 2011, where she met Brigadier General (Ret.) Jack Hammond, who was leading command in Kabul at the time. Back in 2022, she stopped by the Home Base Center of Excellence to speak with Ron and General Hammond to speak about why supporting veterans matters so much and how she views service. Run To Home Base: Join Ron and his team and sign up individually or on another team at the 16th annual Run To Home Base on July 26th, 2025, at Fenway Park! Day 33 -- Veteran's For Peace "Fast for Gaza." This will be the final of the "Fast for Gaza" conversations with peacemaker Kathy Kelly. It was the beginning of a brutal heat wave in NYC; we found a shady spot on the UN side of 1st Avenue. On the opposite side a small group of fasting protestors held signs and umbrellas.Kathy and I talked about her 2004 book "Other Lands Have Dreams: From Baghdad to Pekin Prison" -- focusing on the chapter "Change Agents" -- when she was visited in Pekin Prison by two FBI agents. Kathy talks about the families and children she got to know during her many visits to Iraqi hospitals during the decades-long UN / US sanctions on Iraq. UNICEF reported that 500,000 children under the age of five died between 1991 and 1998 due to those sanctions. Kelly's "Voices in the Wilderness" worked to bring medical supplies to those beleaguered people. The music in this program is “Hiroshima Rising from the Abyss" performed by the Toshiko Akiyoshi / Lew Tabackin Jazz Band, featuring drummer Andy Watson.Alan Winsonbarcrawlradio@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. What does real advocacy look like when it's led by those who've lived it? In this episode of American Potential, host David From talks with Alexa Rice and Jimmie Smith—two dedicated leaders at Concerned Veterans for America—about their trip to Capitol Hill for Vets on the Hill, one of the most powerful veteran-driven advocacy events in the country. Alexa, attending for the first time, and Jimmie, a seasoned CVA leader and U.S. Army veteran, share why this mission matters. Their focus: fighting for greater health care choice through the Veterans Access Act, ensuring veterans can seek timely care in their communities if the VA falls short. They also advocate for keeping the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which supports the high rate of veteran entrepreneurship, and call for a smarter, right-sized foreign policy that puts American interests first and avoids endless wars. This episode dives deep into the personal motivations that fuel their work, the unique power of the veteran voice in policy discussions, and how real change starts with individuals sharing their stories directly with lawmakers. Whether you're a veteran, policymaker, or someone who simply cares about protecting freedom and opportunity—you'll leave inspired by what these two are doing to make a difference.

Ed Shill, managing partner at the Wealth Enhancement Group, says he sees the market either continuing to climb the proverbial wall of worry or getting complacent, and he fears that it's the latter after the sharp rebound from April's decline. "Right now the market is overbought," Shill says in the Market Call, where he recommends "putting airbags on," using stops to lock in profits and being prepared to step back from markets until conditions improve. In The Big Interview, Sam Millette, senior investment strategist at Commonwealth Financial Network, says that the Federal Reserve faces a challenge getting the market to understand its motivation for any rate cuts it makes later this year. He expects a rate cut later this year, likely in September, but he says the reaction of the market — whether it gives the classic bullish response or if it reacts as it did in 2024 when cuts had less impact than expected, particularly on bond markets — will depend on what the market thinks is the Fed's motivation for a cut. Plus, Anthony Holds of Holds Wealth Advisors discusses the latest results from Northwestern Mutual's 2025 Planning & Progress Study, in which nearly 70% of Americans reported that financial uncertainty has made them feel depressed and anxious.
