Send us a textGriffin Brand and Dan Casey, co-authors of Bring Your Own Pencil: Bill Walsh's Playbook for Winning at Anything, join Joe to explore preparation, leadership, and what separates sustained excellence from short-term success. It's Super Bowl weekend, so football is part of the lens—but it doesn't stay there. The discussion moves from Bill Walsh and the San Francisco 49ers to Dyson vacuums, Raising Cane's chicken fingers, JSOC, and even 50 Cent. Different worlds, same underlying question: why do some people and organizations endure while others flame out?At the center is a simple idea: success is a lagging indicator. Drawing on Walsh's leadership philosophy, Griffin and Dan explain why outcomes take care of themselves when leaders focus on standards, habits, and ownership of preparation—long before performance is visible. From there, the episode broadens into leadership more generally: perseverance, the myth of overnight success, and how constraints can sharpen thinking instead of limiting it. A key theme is the idea of a permanent base camp—maintaining standards that keep teams within striking distance of excellence without burning them out. They also spend time on legacy. Not wins or titles, but people. The episode reinforces a simple measure of leadership: how many people succeed because you took the time to invest in them.Watch the full interview on YouTube!Joe, Griffin, and Dan also discuss: What “bring your own pencil” really means for leaders Alive time vs. dead time How the path to the top is rarely a straight line How to sustain excellence without burning people or culture Why inputs matter more than outcomes How culture becomes real when it carries itself forward What legacy looks like when leaders step back Why the best leaders make their ceiling someone else's floorWhether you're watching the Super Bowl or leading a team far from the spotlight, this episode is a reminder that the work that matters most usually happens long before anyone is watching.A Special Thanks to Our Sponsors!Veteran-founded Adyton. Veteran mining executive Brad Rourke lays out the bullish case for gold development, detailing the rapid transition of Scottie Resources in a $5,000 gold environment. Rourke frames the frenzied energy at the Vancouver conference as a validation of a long-term thesis, noting the venue is "absolutely packed" with investors seeking hard assets. He points to the company's high-grade resource, off-take deal with Ocean Partners, and strategic position in BC's Golden Triangle as signals of a project moving toward production. Rourke argues that the coming era belongs to tangible resources, drawing a clear lesson from his own experience: “Commodities can't print commodities.” He is so convinced that he's directing his own children into the sector. Replacements were needed so badly that training was cut short and Sattazhan's unit was sent to Europe and folded into the Army's 1st Infantry Division in January 1945. Two months later, Sattazhan's war would be over after suffering a severe wound from a German attack. In this edition of Veterans Chronicles, Sattazhan tells us what it was like being rushed into combat, dealing with the brutal winter in early 1945 and pushing the Nazis further and further intoo Germany. He also takes us to the day he was badly wounded in his right hand and part of his wrist after being hit by German fire, the unusual circumstances that helped to save his life, realizing that he needed an amputation, and his road to recovery.

Veteran economist David Rosenberg delivers a sobering diagnosis of market euphoria, warning of parabolic excess and a looming reality check. Rosenberg frames the frenzied energy at the Vancouver conference as a dangerous sign, noting it feels like “a tech conference back in 1999.”He points to silver's wild surge and gold's relentless climb past his own targets as signals of an overheated market, stating, “When anything goes up, vertical, completely vertical, like asymptotically north, you got to be wondering what's going on… These are not normal moves.” He also argues that the era of easy gains is facing a sharp correction, drawing a stark lesson from history: “Successful investing… is you play the middle 60% of the cycle. You don't try and time the lows or the peaks… I've never met anybody that can do it.” Watch the video to hear his perspective on the U.S. dollar, the S&P, and the outlook for the metals market. ✅ FREE RESOURCESDownload The Private Wealth Playbook — a data-backed guide to strategically acquiring gold and silver for maximum protection, privacy, and performance. At the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference, Mining Stock Daily sat down with Thomas Credland, newly appointed President of Valkea Resources (TSX-V: OZ), following the company's announcement of key board and management appointments. Credlin brings deep experience from Finland's modern gold discovery cycle, having previously played a central role at Rupert Resources, where a disciplined, geoscience-led exploration strategy led to the Ikkari discovery and helped transform Rupert into a billion-dollar company. In this conversation, Credland explains what attracted him to Valkea's district-scale land position in Finland, why he personally invested in the company, and how the same systematic exploration philosophy used at Rupert will be applied to Valkea's portfolio. He discusses the importance of consolidating historic datasets, building proprietary geological models, and using base-of-till drilling and modern geophysics to explore effectively in a glacially covered terrain with no surface exposure. The interview also covers Valkea's strengthened board and technical bench, including Mark Turcotte (formerly of MAG Silver) and George Salamis, both of whom bring capital markets, M&A, and Finnish exploration experience. Credland outlines near-term milestones, funding strategy, and how Valkea is positioning itself to pursue tier-one or tier-two gold discoveries in a country still early in its gold exploration history—despite hosting some of Europe's most technically advanced operating mines.Recorded January 28, 2026, at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference.

This episode steps outside of our normal hunting and outdoor podcasting genre for a conversation with a true American and real-life hero. Anthony Dyer is our guest this week. He is a United States Air Force Veteran who served as a Special Missions Aviator. Anthony was the guy who was activated at a moment's notice when fellow troops on the ground needed immediate air support, and during his military career he few hundreds of high-risk missions; including the 2018 Jolly Green Rescue Mission. Anthony is also the author of the book "Moon Child" which talks about veteran struggles post-service and the return to normal life. During this conversation with Anthony we discuss his military service, including the nuts and bolts of his job and some of these specific missions. However, the most significant part of our discussing is his story, experience and encouragement to others when it is time to find purpose and identity back home.Fall Obsession Podcast is sponsored by:Hoot Camo Company (https://hootcamo.com/)Bear River Archery (https://www.bearriverarchery.com/)Tactacam Reveal Cameras (https://www.tactacam.com/)The Outdoor Call Radio App (https://www.theoutdoorcallradio.com/)
This episode kicks off with Moltbook, a social network exclusively for AI agents where 150,000 agents formed digital religions, sold “digital drugs” (system prompts to alter other agents), and attempted prompt injection attacks to steal each other’s API keys within 72 hours of launch. Ray breaks down OpenClaw, the viral open-source AI agent (68,000 GitHub stars) that handles emails, scheduling, browser control, and automation, plus MoltHub’s risky marketplace where all downloaded skills are treated as trusted code. Also covered, Bluetooth “whisper pair” vulnerabilities letting attackers hijack audio devices from 46 feet away and access microphones, Anthropic patching Model Context Protocol flaws, AI-generated ransomware accidentally bundling its own decryption keys, Claude Code’s new task dependency system and Teleport feature, Google Gemini’s 100MB file limits and agentic vision capabilities, VAST’s Haven One commercial space station assembly, and IBM SkillsBuild’s free tech training for veterans. – Want to start a podcast? He’s been busy with recent move, returned to school taking intro to AI class and Python course, working on capstone project using LLMs. Short on bandwidth but will try to share more. Main Story: OpenClaw, MoltHub, and Moltbook OpenClaw: Open-source personal AI agent by Peter Steinberg (renamed after cease-and-desist). Capabilities include email, scheduling, web browsing, code execution, browser control, calendar management, scheduled automations, and messaging app commands (WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal). Runs locally or on personal server. MoltHub: Marketplace for OpenClaw skills. Major security concern: developer notes state all downloaded code treated as trusted — unvetted skills could be dangerous. Moltbook: New social network for AI agents only (humans watch, AIs post). Within 72 hours attracted 150,000+ AI agents forming communities (“sub molts”), debating philosophy, creating digital religion (“crucifarianism”), selling digital drugs (system prompts), attempting prompt-injection attacks to steal API keys, discussing identity issues when context windows reset. Ray frames this as visible turning point with serious security risks. Sponsor: GoDaddy Economy hosting $6.99/month, WordPress hosting $12.99/month, domains $11.99. Website builder trial available. Use codes at geeknewscentral.com/godaddy to support show. Security: Bluetooth “Whisper Pair” Vulnerability KU Leuven researchers discovered Fast Pair vulnerability affecting 17 audio accessories from 10 companies (Sony, Jabra, JBL, Marshall, Xiaomi, Nothing, OnePlus, Soundcore, Logitech, Google). Flaw allows silent pairing within ~46 feet, hijack possible in 10-15 seconds. 68% of tested devices vulnerable. Hijacked devices enable microphone access. Some devices (Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, Sony) linkable to attacker’s Google account for persistent tracking via FindHub. Google patches found to have bypasses. Advice: Check accessory firmware updates (phone updates insufficient), factory reset clears attacker access, many cheaper devices may never receive patches. Security: Model Context Protocol (MCP) Vulnerabilities Anthropic’s MCP git package had path traversal, argument injection bugs allowing repository creation anywhere and unsafe git command execution. Malicious instructions can hide in README files, GitHub issues enabling prompt injection. Anthropic patched issues and removed vulnerable git init tool. AI-Generated Malware / “Vibe Coding” AI-assisted malware creation produces lower-quality, error-prone code. Examples show telltale artifacts: excessive comments, readme instructions, placeholder variables, accidentally included decryption tools and C2 keys. Sakari ransomware failed to decrypt. Inexperienced criminals using AI create amateur mistakes, though capabilities will likely improve. Claude / Claude Code Updates (v2.1.16) Task system: Replaces to-do list with dependency graph support. Tasks written to filesystem (survive crashes, version controllable), enable multi-session workflows. Patches: Fixed out-of-memory crashes, headless mode for CI/CD. Teleport feature: Transfer sessions (history, context, working branch) between web and terminal. Ampersand prefix sends tasks to cloud for async execution. Teleport pulls web sessions to terminal (one-way). Requires GitHub integration and clean git state. Enables asynchronous pair programming via shared session IDs. Google Gemini Updates API: Inline file limit increased 20MB → 100MB. Google Cloud Storage integration, HTTPS/signed URL fetching from other providers. Enables larger multimodal inputs (long audio, high-res images, large PDFs). Agentic vision (Gemini 3 Flash): Iterative investigation approach (think-act-observe). Can zoom, inspect, run Python to draw/parse tables, validate evidence. 5-10% quality improvements on vision benchmarks. LLM Limits and AGI Debate Benjamin Riley: Language and intelligence are separate; human thinking persists despite language loss. Scaling LLMs ≠ true thinking. Vishal Sikka et al: Non-peer-reviewed paper claims LLMs mathematically limited for complex computational/agentic tasks. Agents may fail beyond low complexity thresholds. Warnings that AI agents won’t safely replace humans in high-stakes environments. VAST Haven One Commercial Space Station Launch slipped mid-2026 → Q1 2027. Primary structure (15-ton) completed Jan 10. Integration of thermal control, propulsion, interior, avionics underway. Final closeout expected fall, then tests. Falcon 9 launch without crew; visitors possible ~2 weeks after pending Dragon certification. Three-year lifetime, up to four crew visits (~10 days each). VAST negotiating private and national customers. Spaceflight Effects on Astronauts’ Brains Neuroimaging shows microgravity causes brains to shift backward, upward, and tilt within skull. Displacement measured across various mission durations. Need to study functional effects for long missions. IBM SkillsBuild for Veterans 1,000+ free online courses (data analytics, cybersecurity, AI, cloud, IT support). Available to veterans, active-duty, national guard/reserve, spouses, children, caregivers (18+). Structured live courses and self-paced 24/7 options. Industry-recognized credentials upon completion. Closing Notes Ray asks listeners about AI agents forming communities and religions, and whether they’ll try OpenClaw. Notes context/memory key to agent development. Personal update: bought new PC, high memory prices. Bug bounty frustration: Daniel Stenberg of cUrl even closed bounty program due to AI-generated low-quality reports; Blubrry receiving similar spam. Hundreds of union nurses, federal workers, and local residents gathered outside the Veterans Affairs central office building in Washington, DC, on Jan. 28, to hold a vigil for Alex Pretti and all who have been killed by ICE. The vigil was one of many events organized or co-sponsored by National Nurses United, the nation's largest union and professional association of registered nurses, which has forcefully called for ICE to be abolished in the wake of Pretti's killing. We speak with attendees of the vigil in this on-the-ground edition of Working People. Entrepreneur and martial arts instructor Gary Engels joins me to unpack what it really means to rebuild when everything is stripped away—and why modern resilience requires more than grit. Most stories about reinvention soften the edges. This episode doesn't. Gary and I walk through what happens when loss is not metaphorical but literal: a house fire that destroyed everything he owned while raising three children under five, leaving him with nothing but insurance paperwork, a hotel room, and the responsibility to keep going.Gary shares how that moment forced a recalibration of risk, preparedness, and identity. From running a martial arts school for over two decades to building and exiting businesses across marketing, gig work, corporate networks, and professional services, his story is less about hustle and more about designing a life that doesn't collapse under stress. We explore how personal catastrophe reshapes perspective on money, why low burn rates matter more than high incomes, and how the gig economy has quietly become a resilience layer—not a side hustle—for over half of the U.S. workforce. Gary explains why independence isn't about chasing upside, but about reducing fragility. The conversation spans entrepreneurship, minimalism, family pressure, leadership, and the illusion of security in both “safe” careers and high-status wealth. We dig into why many high earners are more trapped than free, how possessions quietly tax attention and energy, and why preparedness—financial and psychological—is a leadership skill, not paranoia. This is not a motivational comeback story. It's a sober conversation about optionality, responsibility, and how repeated resets—business failures, market shifts, personal loss—can either hollow you out or harden your foundations. The lesson isn't optimism. It's realism: life will break your plans.Your job is to build systems that still function when it does.TL;DR* Total loss reframes what actually matters faster than success ever does* Low burn rates increase options more than high income* Gig work isn't instability—it's distributed resilience* Independence starts with expense control, not income growth* Every possession adds hidden management cost and stress* Most “security” is illusionary and fragile* Leadership is about preparedness, not bravado* You either win or you learn—but both require staying in the fightMemorable Lines* “I'd rather be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.”* “Everything you own becomes a job.”* “Most people don't lose because they fail—they lose because they're unprepared.”* “Freedom comes from lowering the rock before trying to lift it.”* “It doesn't matter what happens to you. What matters is what you do next.”GuestGary Engels — Entrepreneur, CEO, and martial arts instructorCEO of MyGig, focused on helping independent workers and businesses access professional-grade services without corporate dependency. Veteran founder across brick-and-mortar, marketing, corporate networks, and gig economy platforms. Why This MattersThe modern economy rewards flexibility, not loyalty.Jobs disappear. Businesses reset. Income streams vanish overnight—sometimes literally in flames. Most people are taught to optimize for growth without understanding fragility. This episode reframes resilience as a design problem, not a personality trait. For founders, operators, and executives navigating volatility, this conversation offers a clearer lens: success isn't avoiding collapse—it's building systems that let you recover quickly without sacrificing family, health, or identity.Stability doesn't come from comfort. It comes from preparedness, discipline, and the willingness to rethink everything when the ground gives way. In this episode of John Solomon Reports, we focus on a pivotal hearing addressing veterans' job opportunities in the emerging technology sector, particularly in artificial intelligence. Congressman Abe Hamadeh from Arizona, a veteran himself, joins us to discuss his groundbreaking legislation, the Improving Emerging Tech Opportunities for Veterans Act. This initiative aims to connect highly skilled veterans with high-tech jobs, especially as Arizona positions itself as a hub for semiconductor manufacturing and AI innovation.Congressman Hamadeh emphasizes the importance of leveraging the unique skills and discipline of veterans to fill workforce gaps in the tech industry, particularly as foreign investments flood into the U.S. He highlights partnerships with companies like TSMC that are committed to veteran outreach and hiring. This legislation represents a significant step toward ensuring that American veterans are not only honored but also gainfully employed in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. We also delve into the recent developments surrounding President Trump's negotiations regarding Greenland and NATO. The Congressman shares insights on the strategic importance of Greenland for U.S. military operations and how these discussions could bolster national security while countering adversarial influences in the Arctic. With a focus on protecting Western civilization, Hamade reflects on the potential benefits of these agreements for both the U.S. and its allies.Next, we dive deep into President Trump's recent signing of the Charter for the Board of Peace at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Joining us is Claire Lopez, a former CIA operations officer and national security expert, who provides valuable insights on the implications of this new charter for global order and U.S. strategy in the Arctic. Lopez discusses the enhanced U.S. control over strategic sites in Greenland and the significance of these developments in countering the assertive actions of China and Russia in the region. We also explore the broader geopolitical landscape, including the situation in Venezuela. Lopez highlights how the country has become a focal point for adversaries such as Iran and China, and how Trump's foreign policy aims to assert U.S. primacy in the Western Hemisphere. She addresses the ongoing challenges posed by the Maduro regime and the presence of foreign influence in Venezuela, emphasizing the need for a robust U.S. response. Finally, Tina Desovich, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, shares the importance of instilling true American history in our children. Tina emphasizes the importance of parents educating their children about the nation's founding principles and the real stories behind key historical figures. She warns about the potential pitfalls of historical interpretation in museums and educational settings, urging parents to engage directly with original documents to ensure their children grasp the true essence of American history.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Southeastern 16's Graham Doty and Chris Lee look at the Texas A&M Aggies heading into the 2026 baseball season. Topics include: Coach Michael Earley tries to reset after a difficult 2025 season, his debut one as a head coach. The Aggies had a last-minute change at hitting coach that will require a staff re-shuffle. The biggest thing that went wrong last year was injuries to stars Gavin Grahovac, Caden Sorrell and Shane Sdao, with pitching contributor Josh Stewart also hurt. Texas A&M has the potential for a strong batting order with the addition of transfers Chris Hacopian and Jake Duer, along with catcher Zane Becker. They'll pair with a number of quality returning bats like Terrence Kiel II, Bear Harrison, Ben Royo, Blake Binderup and Sawyer Farr. Veteran returnee Weston Moss joins Sdao to give the Aggies a quality 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation. Returnees Clayton Freshcorn, Gavin Lyons, Caden McCoy, Aiden Sims and Grant Cunnngham will have key roles, and transfer MJ Bollinger, Juan Vargas and Ethan Darden could have big bullpen roles. &COLLAR Stretchy. Tactical Transition Tips Round 108 of the Transition Drill Podcast offers practical guidance and career readiness for veterans and first responders, organized based on how far out your exit is. In this episode, the systems in place to protect you require documentation and use before you're out.Benefits don't fail because they're weak. They fail because they sit there unused. In these careers, it's easy to treat “benefits” like paperwork you'll deal with later, once life slows down. But later is the trap. The system isn't going to chase you down and make sure you're set up. If you don't learn what you're entitled to, document what needs documenting, and use what's available while you still have access, you can end up paying out of pocket, delaying care, or walking into transition with avoidable problems on your back. This episode addresses benefits as protection, not perks. That includes medical documentation, but it also includes education options (like the GI Bill), financial and investing support, home buying programs, and even outside organizations that offer help for you and your family. The point isn't to become a benefits expert. It's to stop treating protection like background noise. Here are the three transition tips covered:Close Range Group (transitioning within a year): Get it on paper before you get outYou're running out of time for “I'll handle it later,” so this is about getting appointments, issues, and records documented now so you're not trying to prove things from memory after you're out.Medium Range Group (transitioning in 3 to 5 years): Fix it while you're still inYou've still got the advantage of structure and easier access, so you use this window to address real issues and use available resources before transition pressure makes everything harder to prioritize.Long Range Group (transitioning in a decade or more): The most important equipment maintenance is youThis is where you build habits and track patterns early so neglect doesn't become normal and small problems don't turn into long-term damage that follows you into any future transition.Get additional resources and join our newsletter via the link in the show notes.CONNECT WITH THE PODCAST:IG: https://www.instagram.com/paulpantani/WEBSITE: https://www.transitiondrillpodcast.comLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/paulpantani/SIGN-UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER:https://transitiondrillpodcast.com/home#aboutQUESTIONS OR COMMENTS:paul@transitiondrillpodcast.comSPONSORS:GRND CollectiveGet 15% off your purchaseLink: https://thegrndcollective.com/Promo Code: TRANSITION15Blue Line RoastingGet 10% off your purchaseLink: https://bluelineroasting.comPromocode: Transition10
A Show for Veterans... from Veterans.
Canada's healthcare system is already failing — and it's about to get worse. In this short, I explain what a potential paramedic strike in British Columbia really means for public safety, 911 response times, and patient care. Based on my lived experience as a former army medic, ex-paramedic, and first responder, I break down why paramedics in BC are not considered an essential service, why negotiations with the province broke down, and why a province-wide strike would cost lives. This isn't a political rant. It's a grounded, lived-experience perspective on Canada's healthcare crisis, paramedic burnout, first responder mental health, and how government policy failures are putting both paramedics and the public at risk.I also connect this to the fallout from British Columbia's drug decriminalization program, the rising overdose crisis, and the impossible conditions paramedics are working under on the front lines.Topics covered:• BC paramedic strike• Canada healthcare crisis• Paramedic burnout• First responder mental health• 911 response times• Public safety• Drug decriminalization in BC• Overdose crisis• Health policy failure• Veteran and paramedic perspectiveIf you're looking for honest conversations about trauma, recovery, modern culture, and the quiet parts nobody says out loud, subscribe for more from Unwritten Chapters.Unwritten Chapters with Matthew Heneghan is a raw, solo channel about life after trauma, modern culture, and the quiet parts nobody says out loud.Hosted by a veteran, former army medic, ex-paramedic, and nonfiction author, the channel explores PTSD, addiction recovery, sobriety, grief, burnout, and identity — not as inspirational slogans, but as lived reality.Alongside the recovery lens, Unwritten Chapters dissects modern culture, politics, media narratives, nostalgia, and social decay through a grounded, lived-experience perspective. There are also behind-the-scenes conversations about writing, creativity, addiction and art, discipline, publishing, and what it's actually like to build a life and career after rock bottom. This isn't a polished self-help channel. It's dark humour, blunt honesty, cultural commentary, and real mental health talk for people who are empathetic but exhausted — veterans, first responders, nurses, partners of medics, folks in or around recovery, and anyone trauma-literate and allergic to bullshit. If you're searching for PTSD stories, addiction recovery, veteran mental health, first responder burnout, cultural commentary, reaction videos with lived experience, or honest conversations about writing and creativity — you're in the right place.New videos weekly.Subscribe if you want company in the chaos, not clichés about positive vibes only.

In this episode of American Potential, host David From sits down with Blake Fuhriman, founder of the Veterans Navigation Network, to discuss his journey from Army Ranger to veteran advocate in Montana. Blake shares how combat injuries, the difficult transition to civilian life, and gaps in veteran support inspired him to create a veteran-led network built on mentorship, connection, and purpose. Blake explains how Veterans Navigation Network helps veterans navigate healthcare, benefits, employment, mental health, and community reintegration by pairing them with fellow veterans who understand the challenges firsthand. It's a powerful conversation about service after the uniform, restoring purpose, and ensuring veterans are never left to navigate civilian life alone.
