Nicky Grist is a Welsh former rally co-driver. His factory team career in the World Rally Championship lasted from 1993 to 2002. He won 21 rallies with a number of drivers including Colin McRae. Grist's first WRC win was in the Rally Argentina in 1993 with Juha Kankkunen, who at that time was a three times WRC champion. The audio was taken from my interview with Nicky for the BBC feature on how Wales Rally GB has been affected by Covid 19. We discuss this topic, about the near miss of the title for Elfyn Evans, women in Motorsport (sorry I do get a date wrong!) and we discuss what needs to be done in Rallying! Leave a review and get in touch @jadepaveleymotorsport ! Enjoy x
A big trek across the Atlantic to Argentina for round five of the 2001 WRC. Colin McRae gets his season back on track, Solberg sports a terrible beard and we go off on several tangents including stuff about rally games, the current state of the sport and why running two different brands of tyre on the rear axle of your rally car might not be the best idea
In the most entertaining Spinning The Line The Rally Pod yet, the team set about more of the service park’s most incredible stories. But in addition to what went on when George Donaldson was flying high over the route for Rally Argentina, you’ll also get the lowdown on world rallying’s finest potato - and mushroom - producers. On the subject of potatoes, we also investigate the WRC’s crisp (chip if you’re listening Stateside) of choice. Predictably, controversy’s not far away...Add in some Lancia team manager Ninni Russo, words about the WRC’s much-missed journalistic guru David Williams (and his shoes) and the opportunity to name Colin Clark’s haggis-based (and, according to GD overcooked) recipe and you’ve got the fifth edition of The Rally Pod.
James Casey and Joshua Suttill review Rally Argentina, where Thierry Neuville led home a Hyundai 1-2 and extended his championship lead.

Hope you enjoy the show!
