Send us Fan MailA popular claim these days is that God prohibited pork, shellfish, and other animals because they're unhealthy, unclean scavengers, or dangerous for human consumption. But is that actually what the Bible says?In this video, Dr. Solberg examines a viral claim that the dietary laws of Leviticus 11 were given for health reasons and test that idea against Scripture itself. He looks at the biblical meaning of "clean" and "unclean," explores the Hebrew concepts of ritual purity, and examines the reason God explicitly gives for Israel's food laws. Were the dietary restrictions primarily about nutrition? Were they intended for all humanity? Why were Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Noah allowed to eat foods that would later be restricted under the Mosaic Covenant? And what does the Torah itself say about the purpose of these commandments?Rather than relying on modern Hebrew Roots and other Torah-observant movement theories, let's go directly to the biblical text and let Scripture speak for itself. Topics covered:• Leviticus 11 and the prohibition of pork• The Hebrew words ṭāhôr (clean) and ṭāmēʾ (unclean)• Ritual purity versus health regulations• Why Israel's dietary laws were given• Leviticus 20:25–26 and being "set apart"• Genesis 9 and the pre-Sinai diet• Common misconceptions about biblical food laws• Hebrew Roots claims examined in light of ScriptureThe Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)
Send us Fan MailIn this video, Dr. R. L. Solberg carefully examines Tom Bradford's teaching on the Trinity and compares it to the teaching of Scripture. Bradford argues that the traditional doctrine of the Trinity developed later in church history and does not accurately reflect the biblical picture of God. But is that claim supported by the Bible? We'll examine key passages from both the Old and New Testaments, explore what Christians have historically meant by the doctrine of the Trinity, and test Bradford's claims against the biblical text itself. Along the way, we'll discuss the deity of Christ, the eternal Sonship of Jesus, the incarnation, adoptionism, modalism, and why precise theological language matters. This study is not about attacking people. It's about following the Berean principle of testing every teaching against Scripture.LinksMr. Bradford's Full TeachingIs the Trinity taught in the Bible and why does it matter? Send us Fan MailIn this final chapter of Hebrews, Dr. R. L. Solberg walks verse-by-verse through Hebrews 13, unpacking the book's closing exhortations about Christian love, hospitality, persecution, contentment, spiritual leadership, and enduring faith in Jesus Christ. This in-depth Bible study explores the famous “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” passage, the meaning of going “outside the camp,” the superiority of Christ over the old covenant system, and the powerful closing benediction centered on the blood of the eternal covenant. This study also examines key themes running throughout the entire Book of Hebrews, including the New Covenant, the finished work of Christ, the priesthood of Jesus, perseverance in faith, and why believers are called to hold fast to the Gospel rather than return to the old covenant shadows fulfilled in Christ. Ideal for Christians studying Hebrews, New Covenant theology, the relationship between the Old and New Testaments, and the sufficiency of Jesus' sacrifice. 00:00 Introduction00:20 Hebrews 13:1–6 (Let Love Continue)17:28 Hebrews 13:7–17 (A Final Warning)50:58 Hebrews 13:20–25 -(Benediction and Final Greetings)#biblestudy #hebrews13 #versebyverse The Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)

Episode 337 of The Business Development Podcast features a powerful and timely conversation with Brianna Solberg of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, diving deep into what is now being called Canada's “Entrepreneurial Drought.” Backed by real data, the episode uncovers a troubling reality: more businesses are closing than opening in Canada for six consecutive quarters, marking the worst startup activity outside of the pandemic. Together, Kelly and Brianna break down the mounting pressures facing small and medium-sized businesses, including rising costs, labor shortages, declining consumer demand, and a growing sense that entrepreneurship in Canada is becoming increasingly unsustainable. But this conversation goes far beyond economics. Kelly and Brianna explore the deeper, long-term implications of this trend, highlighting how the decline of small business threatens the very fabric of Canadian communities. From lost local jobs and reduced economic circulation to the erosion of vibrant main streets and community identity, the impact is far-reaching. The episode also outlines potential solutions, including reducing the cost of doing business, cutting regulatory red tape, and addressing labor market challenges, while calling for greater awareness, advocacy, and action from both business owners and policymakers.Key Takeaways: Canada is facing an entrepreneurial drought, with more businesses closing than opening for six consecutive quarters.Small and medium-sized businesses are not a side issue in Canada. They make up 99% of all businesses and employ around 60% of private sector workers. When small businesses struggle, communities struggle with them. The decline of entrepreneurship is not just an economic problem. It affects jobs, local identity, opportunity, and community vibrancy. Many business owners are working harder than ever just to survive, not thrive.Rising costs, payroll burdens, taxes, insurance, rent, and utilities are making it harder for businesses to grow.Labour shortages remain a major barrier, especially for small businesses that cannot easily absorb hiring challenges.Red tape takes time, money, and energy away from actually running and growing a business.Internal trade barriers are holding Canada back from becoming a true national economic union.Business owners need to speak up, get involved, and add their voices to organizations advocating for real change.Connect with Brianna SolbergConnect with Brianna on LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianna-solberg/Join the Canadian Federation of Independent BusinessIf you are a business owner in Canada, your voice matters now more than ever. The CFIB represents over 100,000 small and medium-sized businesses across the country, advocating for better policy, lower costs, and a stronger future for entrepreneurs.Join here:https://www.cfib-fcei.ca/en/membership-benefitsSponsor Mentions
Send us Fan MailAre Christians still under God's law… or has something changed?A Livestream from Douglas Hamp MinistriesIn this conversation, Dr. Robert L. Solberg and Dr. Douglas Hamp tackle one of the most debated questions in the Church today: How should Christians relate to the law—without falling into legalism or losing it altogether? Some believe the law has been fulfilled and is no longer applicable. Others argue that God's instructions still matter and were never meant to be discarded. But what did Jesus actually teach? And how do we understand passages like Romans 10:4 and Matthew 5 in context? This isn't about winning an argument—it's about seeking clarity. In this episode, we explore:God's New CovenantThe Relationship between Israel and the ChurchWhy sincere Christians come to very different conclusionsOur goal is simple: to pursue truth with humility and keep the conversation honest, respectful, and grounded in Scripture.

Send a textEnjoy this orderly yet passionate debate on the resolution: "Does Matthew 5:17-20 Teach that Christians Ought to Obey the Law of Moses?"Pastor Matthew Janzen argues in the affirmative, and Prof. R. L. Solberg argues in the negative. Both are followers of Jesus (Yeshua) who affirm the authority of the entire Bible—the Old Testament (Tanakh) and the New Testament (Brit Chadasha). Yet they take very different views of this critical passage from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. What did Jesus really mean when He said He came not to abolish the Law but to fulfill it?“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matt 5:17–20)What if Christmas felt sacred again? Send a textIn this episode, we take a step back from typical prophetic speculations and eschatological positions and ask a deeper question: Does a third temple fit the theology of the New Testament? Our journey begins by entering the first-century world of Jesus and His disciples, where the temple stood at the very center of Jewish life and covenant faithfulness. From there, we trace how the New Testament interprets the destruction of that temple—and what it means that Jesus called Himself greater than the temple (Matt 12:6), identified His body as the true temple (John 2:19–21), and redirected worship away from Jerusalem to “spirit and truth” (John 4:21–24).We reason from a Christ-centered hermeneutic: letting the New Testament govern how we read Old Testament temple prophecies. Along the way, we consider why early Christians never attempted to reconstruct a temple-centered faith, and why the apostles consistently anchor our hope in Christ's finished work and the new creation, not in a restored sacrificial system (Eph 1:21; Rev 11:15).If you've only ever heard the third temple discussed in terms of end-times timelines, this approach may challenge you to rethink the question from a covenantal and theological perspective.3D Temple Walkthrough Video Clips:Herod's Temple 3D - Ancient Jerusalem in UNREAL ENGINE 5© 2025 Scripture Central and Messages of Christ YouTube ChannelThe Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)

In this video, we look at R. L. Solberg's approach to Scripture by focusing on his mishandling of Matthew 5:17–20. Rather than considering the immediate context, Solberg ignores it completely and appeals to other, unrelated texts to argue that Jesus could not have meant what he said in this passage. This eisegetical approach raises serious doubts about his reliability as a biblical interpreter.

A mal tiempo, buena cara. Send us a textFirst Fruits of Zion (FFOZ) is often described as a ministry that helps Christians reconnect with the Jewish roots of their faith—but are their teachings biblically sound? In this new video, we carefully examine their theology, focusing on the underlying hermeneutical framework and their elevation of Torah over Christ, and test it against Scripture. By engaging directly with their published materials and testing their claims against Scripture, we explain why their approach ultimately distorts the gospel and why Christian churches should exercise serious caution when considering their resources.LINK MENTIONEDPastor Randy Powell: HaYesod (A full Rebuttal) — A 10-part seriesThe Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)Chapters00:00 Introduction07:49 Examining First Principles22:19 Interpreting the Gospels and the Epistles38:16 Abolishing God?46:08 Written on Our Hearts59:44 Torah Made Flesh01:16:05 Wrap it up, SolbergSUPPORT OUR MINISTRYhttps://TheBiblicalRoots.org/support (Thank you!)OUR LINKShttps://linktr.ee/thebiblicalroots
Send us a textWhat begins as a sincere desire to understand the Jewish roots of the Christian faith can, in some cases, drift into something far more complicated. In this video, we explore the progression many believers experience as curiosity about the Torah slowly shifts from healthy study to imposed obligation. By tracing common stages within Torahism (aka Hebrew Roots Movement, Torah-keeping, Torah-observant Christianity) we examine why this trajectory can lead to confusion, division, and a displacement of the gospel. The video also offers practical guidance for thoughtfully and graciously engaging friends or family members who have embraced Torah observance, with an emphasis on patience, discernment, and keeping Christ at the center.Read the article: From Curiosity to Captivity: The Journey into Torah-Observant ChristianityThe Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)Chapters00:00 Intro3:34 The 5 Stage of Torahism12:07 Addressing Torah Keepers
Send us a textIn Part 17 of our verse-by-verse study through Hebrews, the author turns from warning to encouragement. After some of the most sobering passages in the letter, he reminds his readers of the hope they confessed, the suffering they endured, and the confidence they must not throw away. We'll see how drawing near to God, holding fast to our hope, and encouraging one another are grounded not in our faithfulness, but in God's. This is a call to endurance—rooted in Christ, sustained by promise, and confident in what is yet to come. The Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)CHAPTERS00:00 Intro and recap04:05 Hebrews 12:1–2 (Run the Race, Fix Your Eyes)10:46 Hebrews 12:3–6 (Consider Christ)17:36 Hebrews 12:7–11 (God's Loving Discipline)23:32 Hebrews 12:12–17 (A Warning Not to Fall Short)33:20 Hebrews 12:18–24 (From Sinai to Zion)44:11 Hebrews 12:25–29 (An Unshakable Kingdom)
Join us for this year's Christmas investigative episode as we sit down with R.L. Solberg to examine one of the most persistent and controversial claims surrounding the holiday: Is Christmas truly rooted in paganism, or is that narrative built on selective history and modern mythmaking? In an age where viral videos and sensational headlines confidently declare Christmas to be nothing more than a repackaged pagan festival, we slow the conversation down and follow the evidence. Together, we trace the historical claims back to their original sources, evaluate what the early church actually believed and practiced, and expose where popular talking points often rely more on assumption than documented fact. But this conversation doesn't stop at history alone. We also confront the modern tension many believers feel each December—caught between sincere faith and an overwhelming culture of excess, marketing, and consumerism. Is there a meaningful way to celebrate Christmas that resists commercialization while remaining grounded in Christian conviction? This episode isn't about defending tradition for tradition's sake—it's about truth. If you've ever questioned the origins of Christmas, felt conflicted about how it's celebrated today, or wanted a historically informed, biblically grounded perspective, this is a conversation you won't want to miss. Tune in and discover what the evidence really says. P.S. Please consider partnering with us as we head into the new year. https://donorbox.org/cultish

Send us a textIn this Bible study, we take a close look at Colossians 2:16–17—one of the most misunderstood passages among Hebrew Roots teachers. Paul's words about festivals, new moons, Sabbaths, and the “shadow vs. substance” point us straight to the sufficiency of Christ and the freedom of the New Covenant. If you've been confused by Torah-keeping claims or you're trying to help a friend caught in Hebrew Roots theology, this walkthrough of Colossians 2 will give you the clarity and biblical grounding you need. The Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)00:00 Intro02:43 Colossians 2:16-1714:47 Claim 1: How We Keep the Rituals22:32 Claim 2: Things to Come26:34 Claim 3: The Body of Christ28:51 Bonus Claim: Special Sabbaths30:52 Wrap it up, Solberg.
Send us a textIn Part 16 of our verse-by-verse Hebrews study, we step into the “Hall of Faith” in Hebrews 11. The writer has just warned his readers not to drift, harden, fall away, or shrink back — now he shows them what persevering faith looks like. We'll see how Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Moses, Israel at the Red Sea, Rahab, the judges, the prophets — even the unnamed, persecuted saints “of whom the world was not worthy” — were all trusting the same God we trust today. And here's the surprise: they didn't receive the promise yet because God had “something better” planned that includes us. Should Christians Keep the Torah? In this episode of Reclamation, Naomi talks with apologist and professor R. L. Solberg about the Hebrew Roots Movement (Torahism)—what it teaches, why it's spreading, and how it can slip into high-control or spiritually abusive patterns.Together, they consider:- What Hebrew Roots / Torahism actually is- Why some Christians find it appealing- The five-stage progression from fascination to control- What Galatians teaches about law, grace, and freedom- Practical advice for families and friends affected by this movementThey also discuss beEmboldened's new course, “Rebuilding with Biblical Literacy,” designed for those healing from spiritual abuse and seeking a deeper understanding of Scripture.

Send us a textThere are just some common, persistent Hebrew Roots claims—I would even call them “biblical myths,” because they're so clearly untrue, yet they're continually repeated and still believed. In this video, we explore and debunk four such claims made by Hebrew Roots (Torah-observant) teachers—claims that often lead believers into confusion and division. In fact, we will interact with actual clips from a Hebrew roots teacher named Melissa Smith (aka God's Little Hummingbird).Using Scripture as our authority, we test each claim for its theological soundness and practical implications:How do we define sin? How can Gentiles be freed from the law if they were never under it?Did the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 give Gentile believers a "starter pack" of laws?Did Paul really keep the law in Acts 21?This video challenges the assumptions behind modern Torahism and aims to build up the body of Christ with clarity and truth. This discussion is a deep dive into biblical theology—more than just soundbites—and whether you're new to this conversation or deeply invested in it, you'll walk away with a clearer understanding of how the gospel of Jesus Christ stands in contrast to Torah-keeping legalism. The Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)
