El lateral izquierdo jugó con la rojiblanca 269 partidos oficiales desde la temporada 1970-71 y  hasta su retirada en la 1979-80. 34 partidos de Copa, 14 de Recopa de Europa, 14 de Copa de Europa, 6 de Copa de la UEFA, y 2 de Copa Intercontinental. Ganó 2 Ligas con el Atleti (1973 y 1977), 1 Copa del Rey en 1976 y la Intercontinental en 1975. Capón nos dejó el 29 de marzo de 2020 por culpa del COVID. En sus propias palabras rememoraba con añoranza que "lo mejor fue ganar la Liga del 77 en el Bernabéu y la Intercontinental. Jugué el famoso partido de semifinales en Glasgow en el 74. No lo olvidaré, porque allí nos maltrataron y aquí les arrollamos, pero futbolísticamente”. En la competición nacional Liguera, en partido disputado en Getafe el pasado domingo a las 18:30, el Atleti logró 3 puntos importantísimos, con victoria por 0-1, con gol en propia puerta. Fue un partido de esos que hay que masticar barro y cemento, pero que son de los que deciden campeonatos. Es la  5ª victoria consecutiva en Liga, siendo, además, fuera de casa. Con este resultado el Atleti sigue 4º, a 4 puntos del líder (el Mal), 3 del segundo (Barça)  y 1 del tercero (Villarreal) y eso que se había tirado la liga en agosto… El próximo compromiso liguero será el sábado 29/11 a las 21:00 frente al Oviedo en su retorno a la máxima división. Esperemos que se sigan sumando puntos de 3 en 3 para mantenernos en la pomada. Por otro lado, en Champions, el Atleti recibirá al Inter de Milán, mañana miércoles a las 21 horas en el Metropolitano. Partido importantísimo para las aspiraciones del equipo para estar entre los 8 primeros de la liguilla y así evitar la ronda previa. Hablaremos de dicho partido la próxima semana. Mientras tanto….
