She's incredible at helping women discover their superpowers, and use their knowledge and experience to create sellable brand stories. We go deep into our conversation about stories because it's a part of how we formulate our self-identities. And when we tell ourselves disempowering stories, that we're not ready, not worth listening to, and not enough, it will affect our lives and our bank accounts. Just by learning to tell new stories and value our experience, we can break free of the cycles we've been stuck in and get paid on top of it. She's also giving us some info about the League, her Signature Story Bootcamp.I hope you enjoy this episode with Reesy and if you want to learn more, join her FB Group at LetsBrandYourStory.com.

Reesy Floyd-Thompson is an entrepreneur, professional storyteller, and the founder of a support group called Prisoners Wives Girlfriends and Partners. Ressy’s story is inspiring and educational on so many levels. It begins in 2005 when she stood in a Pennsylvania courtroom where her husband, a Desert Storm Veteran, was sentenced to prison for 12.5 to 25 years. To use her words, for better or worse, she was now a married-single woman legally separated by the Department of Corrections. In that moment Reesy lost all sense of personal identity. She began to call herself Mrs. GE6309. People around her saw Reesy as just another African American woman with her husband in jail. Shock turned to reality when a UPS box arrived at her doorstep with all of her husbands belonging. Then the bills started to pile up. A 15 minute collect call from an out of state prison ran around $20. Going to see her husband involved a 10 hour trip. For the first few years Reesy operated on auto-pilot. She began to do side hustles to pay the bills (her minimum wage job wasn’t enough). In this episode Reesy shares: The defining moment that snapped her out of her slumber Her journey in starting Prisoners Wives Girlfriends and Partners How internet trolls forced her to take a step back How turning to writing became the foundation for her current business The impact a caring mentor had on her life Why she sent divorce papers to her husband just before his release And why they are once again husband and wife Reesy’s story is a reminder that people are not statistics and more importantly that your current circumstances do not have to define where you will end up. Reesy is a strong, powerful, articulate woman. Enjoy. You can reach Reesy at: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/reesyfloydthompson/ Please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Reesy Floyd-Thomspon always loved a good crime story, a cold case, an unsolved mystery -- a good "who-dun-it". But when her husband was cast as the unsuspecting bad guy, she was forced to play a supporting role in her very own crime drama. A married-single woman legally separated by the Department of Corrections, Reesy used her life as a classroom and mastered the arts of storytelling, marketing, branding, public relations and ultimately entrepreneurship. She learned how to tell her story, make herself relatable and keep her personal brand affable enough to break down barriers and be seen by the people who needed her. Today Reesy is the Digital Wonder Woman and a marketing expert. In this episode she shares how to connect your experiences to your expertise in order to develop a signature brand story that speaks to your audience and grows your influence. --- READY TO BECOME KNOWN?
