The word “goat” was most often used, outside of just describing a grass-feeding animal, as one who was a victim, blamed for something they didn’t do. It has taken on a rather distinct and somewhat opposite meaning now: the greatest of all time. People love to debate things like this; especially at the close of the year rankings and lists are all the rage. Commandments seem like an odd thing to rank, but today we get the definitive list. But what does it mean to love the Lord with all you are, and your neighbor as yourself?

You will find yourself in a situation where you don’t feel any love for a person that is in your life. They may get on your last nerve. They may have caused you so much pain because of their selfish actions. They may have actually acted as an enemy to you. What is your responsibility when it comes to relating with this person? YOU MUST CHOOSE TO LOVE THEM. But, how? Text: 1 Corinthians 13; Matthew 22:34-40 May God bless you as you engage in worship. Please feel free to leave feedback/comments to let us know you joined in worship. In this message, we hear Jesus in Matthew 22:34-40 reiterate the two greatest commandments to love God with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. We also learn that Jesus is more interested in having disciples than he is in having a crowd.

Dating in today's world is full of questions: everything from "should I even date this person" to "how do we date without getting our hearts broken" to "when should we get engaged?" With all kinds of advice from friends, family, and media giving confusing or even conflicting messages, we are often left wanting a guide in navigating romance. God Himself designed romance, and His Word is a simple, although challenging, guide for how to find love and navigate the mystery of romance. Check out our third installment of the "Before I Do" series where we take a look at Jesus' words to us and how it relates to our love lives.
Have you ever got something that you bought, maybe for Christmas, but not exclusively, and it was in a box and needed to be put together? Maybe the description on the order said, “Some Assembly Required”. It has been my experience that some means a lot. The instructions are 10 pages and in 5 different languages. And following the instructions can either make you or break you. Especially on Christmas Eve, under pressure. Some Assembly Required, also describes my walk with God. Some things in my life need assembled, tightened down, fit together properly. And following the instructions can make you or break you. The instructions, the bible, are 66 books and thousands of things to learn, much more than just the 10 Commandments. How do we even start? Good thing that Jesus really shortened the list and made the instructions really concise. God wants a relationship with Him to be easy and not hard. This message explores these two simple concepts in Matthew 22 and understanding them will take a load off of your assembly process.

The Great Commandment
The Great Commandment
To rightly worship God that worship must find expression in love of neighbor. What are we learning? Worship = love of God—Vertical Worship = love of neighbor—Horizontal Four Implications for Marriage: 1. Worship Is visible in Your Marriage. 2. Relational Problems Can Be addressed Through worship. 3. Worship Always changes You. 4. You Can Worship God in the details of Relational interaction. Projects: • Remind yourself that every relational interaction is a test of worship. • Confess and repent not just of your anger or unkindness, but most importantly of your false worship. • If you really want to change, ask your spouse to help you. Ask them daily if you’ve shown a worship disorder in the last 24 hours. • Suggested Resource: Brad Bigney, Gospel Treason: Betraying the Gospel with Hidden Idols (Phillipsburg, N.J.: P&R Publishing, 2012).
A verse-by-verse study in the book of Matthew.
After Jesus is asked about the resurrection, a pharisee attempted to ask another question about which commandment is the greatest in hopes to test Jesus. Jesus responds saying "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself..." In this we see a need to balance our personal pursuit of God with our cares for our neighbors.

The word "Witness" is a noun, not a verb. It means that it is more about who we are, not what we say. As followers of Jesus we are called to His witness to the world. This isn't about trying to be better but about loving God in such a way that we reflect something different to the world.
