Wetzel and Forde are back for another episode of their daily podcast. Today's show features some discussion about the latest player, Baylor's Shock Linwood, to skip a bowl game in order to focus on the NFL Draft. Is this going to be the new normal in NCAA Football? The guys give their take. Plus, a security guard gets himself in hot water for a lewd act while working the sidelines for an NFL game and a special talent that a new member of the Kansas City Chiefs has. All that and more in this episode of the Wetzel to Forde Daily Podcast. Don't miss it.

Iowa State continued to show improvement after the San Jose State game, putting up one hell of a fight against the 13th ranked Baylor Bears before eventually losing a game in which they never trailed. The offense continued to gel as Joel Lanning played his best game of the season, and Mike Warren again rushed for more than 100 yards. The defense, however, was not as successful as Shock Linwood ran his way up and down the field at will. This week the Cyclones head to Stillwater where they take on a really solid Oklahoma State Cowboys team.  What did we learn about the progress of the process, and just how much improvement have we seen from ISU in the first five weeks? What should we as fans reasonably expect as the Cyclones head into a tough road contest? What would indicate continued progress against the Pokes? Find all that and more in this week's We Still Booze podcast. Brought to you by Wide Right & Natty Lite. Iowa State's SBNation blog. Special thanks to former Cyclone, Jake McDonough, for letting us use the track, "816 Boyz Comin Thru 2" for the intro and outro. Give him a follow on Soundcloud.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Our gift to you this Christmas Eve is a podcast! Because we love you and we’re here to entertain you while you travel, do your last minute shopping, or whatever. We podcast, you decide. Mark returns to the podcast for a preview of the Russell Athletic Bowl, the Baylor Bears, the North Carolina Tar Heels, and everything involved therein. Before we get to the topics, though, I hope you notice that I put together a special introduction this week, paying homage to the most dynamic receiver in the country, Biletnikoff winner Corey Coleman. I had hoped to be able to do this after the bowl game and add in whatever scores he had against UNC, but sadly, that is not to be. So, I hope you enjoy it. Here’s what we’re talking about: The injury situation to Jarrett Stidham, Shock Linwood, Coleman, and possibly Patrick Colbert What this offense will look like without those players Self-scouting and “conventional wisdom” The Tar Heel defense, its strengths, weaknesses, and aggressive secondary How often do we see the WildBear? UNC’s offense and their weapons. Do they seem somewhat familiar to you? The weather Much more about the game Briefly: Texas’ OC hire, A&M’s QB transfers, Kylo Ren’s decision to Transfer from Texas A&M Overcast: a podcasting app for iOS We hope you enjoy the podcast, and have a very Merry Christmas!

Well that was a good amount of fun, wasn’t it? After a day’s delay, Mark and I take to the airwaves once again to recap the Texas Tech game and all the wild events occurring in the Big 12 this past weekend. The Bears soundly defeated Texas Tech on Saturday in a win that has many of the pundits naming Baylor their new #1 team in the country. This is a reality that is, of course, terrifying for many Baylor fans (guys, it’s going to be okay). But we’re not talking about that so much! What exactly are we talking about? I’m glad you asked! What we’re talking about Taking the foot off the gas Some quality defensive play that we’re happy with Offensive efficiency Corey Coleman: Is he the best WR in Baylor history? Shock Linwood’s spectacular game There’s more stuff in there I can’t remember off the top of my head Oh yeah! Recapping the Big 12 Iowa State 38, Kansas 13 Oklahoma State 36, K-State 34 The Great Big 12 Officiating Debacle of October 3, 2015* Oklahoma 44, West Virginia 24 TCU 50, Texas 7 A teensy bit about S&P+, but possibly more to come *Last week we got called out in the comments to the podcast because we were apparently “whining” about the officiating without acknowledging that it’s a difficult job. We fully recognize that officiating is a thankless and incredibly difficult job. But, like any job, there can be excellence or incompetence performing it. While even the best and most prepared refs can miss calls here and there, what the Big 12 is dealing with is beyond the occasional missed call at this point. Fun weekend! Even though we recorded on Monday night, we’re still planning on recording the Kansas preview on Wednesday night. Get your questions in now, folks. I’m sure there will be an incredible number of them.

What a week! We’ve got a TON to talk about on this week’s podcast, the final “combined” episode where we’ll both look back at what happened last week and look ahead to what’s coming on Saturday. Rejoice! More podcasts to come! Let’s get to it, shall we? We’re leading off the show with an announcement. I’m teasing it here because we jump into it immediately. What Else We’re Talking About The Great Alan Eck Conspiracy of 2015. We’ve cracked it, folks. The Rice game, one of the most impressive performances we’ve seen from Baylor Bears football in quite some time Best performances of the day which weren’t Corey Coleman (because, c’mon): Taylor Young, Travon Blanchard, Shock Linwood, Shawn Oakman* The Oakman sack/holding sequence: Go watch it A bit about the TCU/Texas Tech game - but not a ton Short, short look at WVU - they’re interesting, but they haven’t played on the road yet (and their road slate is brutal) Previewing Texas Tech vs. Baylor The Cloak & Dagger Injury Game with Kliff Kingsbury and Pat Mahomes Differences between Mahomes and Davis Webb An improved Tech rushing attack Reduction in the typical Tech Achilles heels (can there be multiple Achilles heels? Whatever, they had them but they don’t this year) Explanation of tackling issues from the early portions of the season Art Briles gives us a fantastic quote. Just fantastic. Picks of the Weeeeeeeeeek Enjoy!
