How long does the changeover take now, in the era of the one-time transfer waiver? What do these changes mean for coaches in terms of how long they get to make an impact? The Duke Blue Devils were picked as the title favorites over North Carolina, Kentucky, and Kansas in FOX's College Basketball title odds. Given everything the Blue Devils are losing - Paolo Banchero, AJ Griffin, Wendell Moore, Jr., Trevor Keels, and Mark Williams - plus a brand new and untested head coach in Jon Scheyer and this selection is indefensible. North Carolina brings back four of their five starters (RJ Davis, Caleb Love, Leaky Black, Armando Bacot) from a National Runner-Up team that knocked off those same Blue Devils two of the three times they played last season. Not to mention that Carolina's first year head coach, Hubert Davis, guided his team all the way to the National Championship Game. Host Isaac Schade also takes a look at the BetOnline ACC championship odds, which lists the Tar Heels at fifth in the conference. Why so much disrespect for the UNC Football team? Much of that is likely centered around the unknown personnel as well as a brand new defensive scheme. North Carolina has two elite recruits in the class of 2023: Simeon Wilcher and GG Jackson. Head coach Hubert Davis has been swinging for the fences on the recruiting trail and already has two top-20 recruits in the class of '23 for his efforts. Wilcher, a combo guard from New Jersey, does many things well and should be able to contribute right away for Carolina. He will join a deep backcourt that will likely start RJ Davis and Seth Trimble, while bringing Wilcher and D'Marco Dunn off the bench. This opportunity to learn from veteran players in the system should prove massive dividends for Wilcher as he acclimates to the college game. Coach Pac Kilby joins host Isaac Schade to discuss all things Simeon Wilcher, including his UNC player comp (Rashad McCants) and his NBA player comp ( Shai Gilgeous-Alexander). Last week we wondered at what level the peer recruiting of players like Armando Bacot had on potential transfers or recruits. The answer, it turns out, is a lot. Ohio State's Lejond Cavazos says he didn't have North Carolina in his head until Bacot sold him on the Tar Heels. And now he is one. Four Tar Heel alums are still alive in the NBA Playoffs - Danny Green, Cam Johnson, Reggie Bullock, and Theo Pinson. Green and the Philadelphia 76ers are playing top-seeded Miami in the Eastern Conference semifinals and are currently knotted at two games each. Johnson and the Suns are in the same boat against Bullock, Pinson, and the Mavericks. The series is headed back to Phoneix for Game 5. Both series, in fact, have their fifth game this evening. The men's and women's tennis teams are both competing in the NCAA Tournament. Each team dispensed of their first two opponents with relative ease, but now move on to face more stiff competition in the form of the Florida Gators. Those matches will both be Friday afternoon. North Carolina has an open scholarship for the 2022-23 season and the big question becomes: Who will the Tar Heels get to help fill the Brady Manek-sized hole in the roster? Well, who better to help us answer that question than a basketball coach who has seen Brady up close and personal for years? The Carolina Coach K, Pac Kilby is back with us! North Carolina got back 4 of their 5 starters (Caleb Love, RJ Davis, Leaky Black, Armando Bacot), but we can't miss how big the hole is left by Brady Manek. Until this week there was no way to fill that gap outside of the roster. But then Kerwin Walton transferred and there's another scholarship available. The big question then becomes: HOW SHOULD CAROLINA USE THEIR OPEN SCHOLARSHIP? Coach Pac Kilby joins host Isaac Schade to discuss the answer to this question. Spoiler alert, we both think it will be a transfer. Here are the questions the Carolina Coach K will answer: What do the Tar Heels lose without Brady? What on earth happened to Sam Howell's draft status? He went from a consensus top-of-the-first-round pick to the first pick of the fifth round. Despite the tumble, the UNC QB alum has a new home in Washington and it seems to be a great opportunity for him to learn under Carson Wentz. Three other Tar Heels were drafted - Joshua Ezeudu, Ty Chandler, and Marcus McKethan. Additionally, six other Carolina players have been listed as undrafted free agents (UDFAs). Host Isaac Schade walks you through the landing spot for each. Also, there's a new intriguing name in the college basketball transfer portal. Will Coach Davis pounce and make his pitch? We'll find out. Meanwhile, a few of the names thrown around for the Tar Heels in the transfer portal aren't in play after all?
