Recall the recent party affiliation switch by Rep. Tricia Cotham, Mike's predictions regarding the vote on school-choice as a result, the affirmative action case pending before SCOTUS involving the University of North Carolina's admissions practices, and the emerging candidate for Governor, Lt. Governor Mark Robinson. › Bryan Kohberger has been indicted by an Idaho grand jury for four (4) counts of murder and burglary — what does the sudden grand jury indictment mean in the context of a case that was otherwise proceeding quite slowly? › Montana is the first state to ban the popular app TikTok. North Carolina has lacked a true shot-blocking defensive presence for quite some time now. Walker Kessler brought that, but didn't get enough playing time for it to play a massive role. Oklahoma State transfer Moussa Cisse would provide exactly that role for the Tar Heels in the 2023-24 season (and possibly one more after). Would he be willing to play a backup role to Armando Bacot? Would Cisse's addition limit Jalen Washington's impact? We're once again faced with that transfer portal conundrum. We learned of Simeon Wilcher and Zayden High's final class of 2023 rankings at 247Sports. Host Isaac Schade is befuddled as to why they continue to fall, but suggests why the lower ranking could be a positive for the Tar Heels. Carolina will play UConn in the Jimmy V Classic. There's been a rumored connection between Creighton SG Trey Alexander & the Tar Heels, although Alexander is not in the transfer portal. However, Alexander is in the NBA Draft. Despite Alexander not being in the portal, it's still an interesting conversation to have. He is a rising junior who can absolutely fill it up from beyond the arc. Alexander is definitely worth a look, however, Carolina already has six guards on the roster (RJ Davis, Seth Trimble, D'Marco Dunn, Simeon Wilcher, Cormac Ryan, Paxson Wojcik). Should Hubert Davis add another backcourt player to the mix? Alexander is also in the NBA Draft and could theoretically stay in, although he's projected as a mid- to late-second rounder. Coach Pac Kilby shares his thoughts on Marcus Pagie's addition to the staff and why he'll be such an important addition to help the backcourt players. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

ESPN (Jeff Borzello) released their most recent way-too-early Top 25 college basketball rankings on Monday. North Carolina has moved up from 23rd to 19th. Host Isaac Schade thinks that's not only too high, but that the Tar Heels shouldn't currently be ranked at all, despite getting back RJ Davis and Armando Bacot. Hubert Davis' squad needs to prove they belong before they should be invited to the party. In the top 25 blurb, Borzello lists his projected starting lineup for North Carolina, which includes Cormac Ryan, Simeon Wilcher, and Harrison Ingram in addition to Davis and Bacot. Isaac Schade's starting lineup is the same but switching Jae'lyn Withers in and Wilcher out. Who's correct? KJ Davis tweeted again on Monday, but only to say that he had been silenced; still no news. The tennis (men's and women's) NCAA Tournament brackets were revealed on Monday evening, with the women No. 1 overall and the men No. 16 overally. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Ron Holland, the No. 1 PF in the class of 2023, decommitted from Texas on Friday and will open up his recruitment. North Carolina could really utilize him to help round a frontcourt that's quite thin with just Armando Bacot, Jalen Washinton, and Jae'lyn Withers. Holland would provide immediate help in that regard. The NFL Draft was this weekend and four Tar Heels were drafted. In fact, for the third straight season, four or more Tar Heels have been drafted. This year's crew included Josh Downs (3rd, 79, Colts), Asim Richards (5th, 169, Cowboys), Antoine Green (7th, 219, Lions), and Ray Vohasek (7th, 227, Jaguars). North Carolina has had much roster turnover – six players transferring out including Caleb Love, Puff Johnson, Tyler Nickel, Dontrez Styles, Justin McKoy, and Will Shaver, plus Leaky Black and Pete Nance graduating. Meanwhile four players have transferred in – Jae'lyn Withers (Louisville), Cormac Ryan (Notre Dame), Paxson Wojcik (Brown), and Harrison Ingram (Stanford) and two will join from the high school ranks – Simeon Wilcher and Zayden High. The question becomes: Is this roster, complete with Armando Bacot and RJ Davis, better than last season's? Host Isaac Schade and Pac Kilby work to answer this question. Also, over/under, will the Tar Heels have 25 wins next season? The Elliot Cadeau reclassification conversation continues on. All along it's been a question of roster construction. Does it make sense for him to come given what the Tar Heels already have in place for next season? Finally, what, if anything, should Hubert Davis do with the final two scholarships? With everything we've talked about surrounding UNC's roster construction for 2023-24, we haven't considered the possibility of Jarin Stevenson (No. 1 PF in 2024) committing to the Tar Heels and re-classifying to the class of 2023. What if he did so and took one of UNC's final 2 scholarships for next season? Could he slot in alongside Armando Bacot in the frontcourt? At the very least, he would challenge for a starting role and would add great depth along with Bacot, Jae'lyn Withers, and Jalen Washington. Early this week, North Carolina extended their 2nd and 3rd scholarship offers to the class of 2025 – Darryn Peterson (SG) and Koa Peat (PF). UNC women's basketball picked up two-way player Lexi Donarski from Iowa St, a former Big 12 Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Donarski was ranked No. 4 in 247Sports' transfer rankings. Sad news for UNC Football, which lost Ja'Qurious Conley to the transfer portal. Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Not only is he capable of knocking down shots from outside, he averages four rebounds a game and 2.5 assists and knocks down 80% of his free throws. Host Isaac Schade is of the opinion that he's actually a better fit for the Tar Heels than Nick Timberlake would have been (although would have gladly welcomed Timberlake as well!). With that in mind, Hubert Davis made an offer to 2023 SF Brady Dunlap, originally a Notre Dame commit before Mike Brey stepped away from the Irish. Dunlap is down to a fivesome of UNC, Nebraska, Penn State, Villanova, and St. John's. He will visit Chapel Hill on April 30. Carolina's spring practice for football was this past weekend. Drake Maye did what Drake Maye does. The transfer WRs Tez Walker and Nate McCollum appear that they'll slot in nicely for Josh Downs and Antoine Green.
