Chris, Beau and Nate react to the NFL's week 2 slate and the action around the league. The Philadelphia Eagles knock off Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley weren't perfect but didn't need to be as the Eagles defense stood tall and delivered Mahomes his 3 straight loss dating back to last season. Joe Burrow went down against the Jacksonville Jaguars and will be out for a couple months with a turf toe injury so the Bengals will turn to Jake Browning. The Detroit Lions are back with a dominant win over Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams. The New England Patriots got Mike Vrabel his first victory as Patriots HC, the Cowboys beat the Giants in a shootout, the Colts are a damn good football team and the Seahawks jumped Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers to get back to .500. On today’s episode, Jason discusses the biggest reason why Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are 0-2 to start the season, whether the Cincinnati Bengals can count on the health of 'Glass Joe' Burrow moving forward, what he learned from the Dallas Cowboys' wild overtime win over Russell Wilson and the New York Giants, and why the Indianapolis Colts' last-second win over Denver says more about some shoddy officiating than some 'resurgence' of Daniel Jones. Finally, J-Mac closes the show with his Best Bets for the Monday Night Football double-header featuring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs the Houston Texans, and the Los Angeles Chargers vs the Las Vegas Raiders. Hosts Brad Fowler and Alex Higdon break down all the biggest storylines from Week 1 in the NFL and Week 2 in College Football. We cover it all — from Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offensive struggles against Justin Herbert and the Chargers, to why the Giants need to move on from Russell Wilson and find out what they have in Jaxson Dart. We dive into Josh Allen’s superhuman comeback versus the Ravens, Micah Parsons transforming the Packers defense, and which teams should be worried after disappointing starts. On the college side, Oregon annihilates Oklahoma State, South Florida shocks Florida in The Swamp, and Oklahoma makes a statement with a huge win over Michigan. We also discuss why LSU, Clemson, and Georgia didn’t impress, Mississippi State’s upset over Arizona State, and the latest drama with Bill Belichick at UNC.
The Chiefs look lost on offense with no running game other than a scrambling Patrick Mahomes and their mission of hitting deep passes has one glaring problem. It's something Mahomes is not good at. Like, really not good at. He chucks it flat and deep almost every time and the Chiefs just aren't good enough right now to cover up mistakes by Mahomes and HOF tight end Travis Kelce. It gets even uglier, Kelce bolted without talking to the media after his fumble cost the Chiefs this game and his fiance now has a crap show going on as she's apparently walking around Arrowhead with a rolling wall to block her from all us regular people. Oh, we are seeing things we haven't seen before and its no fun at all. Stan Weber helps us break down all the problems and then we get into Mizzou's perfect start and a K-State team inf free fall.
