Rashid Ajami has released on massive dance imprints such as Anjunadeep, Noir and Ministry Of Sound, and is returning to the dance music industry resurgent after taking time out in the world of entrepreneurship. In this episode of Beyond The Studio, Rashid and Paul reconnect - Rashid was one of the first artists with work with Chapter 24 Records, and DJ'd at label parties early on in the label's life - and find they have far more in common than passing conversations in DJ booths can allow for! Rashid talks about his deep love for Logic Pro, Spectrasonics Omnisphere being at the heart of his creative process, and goes deep into the spiritual game of being a true artist - someone who creates art over an extended period of time, thanks to a patient, consistent, unwavering commitment to the music itself...as that's all that truly matters! Music Producers, we had the opportunity to interview the founder of Spectrasonics (Omnisphere, Trillian, Keyscape) about their license and sample agreement (*Which They Updated BTW*). Thanks to your overwhelming response to my video that highlighted some grey area terminology for producers and sound designers, they reached out and are looking to provide us clarity and peace of mind. Eric Persing is the founder and creative director of Spectrasonics. He has produced dozens of the sampling industry's top selling titles and gone on to create the award-winning Omnisphere, Keyscape, Stylus RMX, Trilian, Atmosphere and Trilogy software virtual instruments. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/curtisskingpodcast/support

This week Mark is excited about his new iPhone app RJDJ which does seem pretty nifty, we then talk of the new Apple laptop range which seems to have omitted musicians and video producers from it's possible customer base by the exclusion of FireWire on the Mac Books and only FW800 on the MBPros, we touch on the panels experiences with the new Spectrasonics Omnisphere mega instrument, then we take a look at the new SoundCloud.com audio sharing and distribution service, then we touch on the new Metallica album which has been mastered too loud and results in poor MP3 encoding and other issues, the Tone Generation series from Ian Helliwell is up next, then it's smelly Mac Pros and other stinky equipment to end the show on a low note.
