Panned by critics, but aquiring a cult following... Pamela Anderson is Barb Wire! Directed by David Hogan, Barb Wire is the superhero film based on the Barb Wire comic Book series by Dark Horse. Luke and Jae return to 1996 to revisit this "futuristic" R-rated action flick. A sexy nightclub owner, Barb Wire (Pamela Anderson Lee) moonlights as a mercenary in Steel Harbor, one of the last free zones in the now fascist United States. When scientist Cora Devonshire (Victoria Rowell) wanders into Barb's establishment, she gets roped into a top-secret government plot involving biological weapons. Soon Barb is reunited with her old flame Axel Hood (Temuera Morrison), who is now Cora's husband and a guerrilla fighter.

We hope you like big fake boobies, because that’s about all Pamela Anderson brings to the table this week in 1996’s futuristic action romp Barb Wire. In the film that narrowly lost the Razzie Award for Worst Picture 1996, disenfranchised mercenary Barb “Wire” Kopetski tries to eke out a living in the embattled city of Steel Harbor. Barb’s world is one part Mad Max, one part Johnny Mnemonic, one part Casablanca and ALL camp, as the constant barrage of strip teases, overblown gun fights and sexual torture will demonstrate. Sadly, big boobs (or abs and a baby face) alone do not an action hero make, and Pam’s performance is more wooden than her male admirers’ members after the opening scene. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bmoviebreakdown/support
